What a great experience…read more.. This is a really nice set up for seeing small plays or musicals. We have never been to the Riffe Center before so it was a nice trip downtown. The studios are small so it makes for a very intimate experience which makes a musical even better. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We are excited to see something there again

Such a great theater and plenty of leg room…read more I had no Idea this place was here! My partner grabbed us tickets to see Tom Popa and when he told me it was the Riffe Center, I had to look it up. Parking was easy and used the Riffe Center Parking Garage at 78 South Front Street. It's a smaller garage so we lucked out but my back up was going to be the Ohio Statehouse Underground Parking Garage. Check in was easy and plenty of staff and ushers on hand. Seats were comfortable and nice legged room. I was completely impressed. Located downtown Columbus, the (Jo Ann) Davidson Theatre is part of The Riffe Center Theatre Complex. It is on the third floor of the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts (named after Vernal G. Riffe, Jr.) at 77 S. High Street.

A small, intimate theater (like everyone keeps saying!). It's pretty impossible to get lost in…read morehere; you walk in, and you're met with the small lobby and bar top. There are bathrooms here as well. You go a few more steps, and you're going in the doors to the theater itself. The theater has a standard, elevated design with flip-down chairs at each level. It isn't too steep, and I never got vertigo walking down the stairs. I did not come here in a wheelchair, but if memory is serving me correctly, it's a flat surface from wide, front doors all the way to the top of the theater. Despite the age, there's a nice elevator here, too, and I'd assume that's where the handicap-accessible seating is as a wall on the first-floor of theater would prevent viewing the show without going down a stair. Decently-large bathrooms on the first floor (I think between 8-10 stalls). I'm unsure if they had some on the second. Bathrooms had a bit of an "older home" smell to them, but it wasn't horrendous. (I will note there are two doors, back-to-back, to get into the bathroom which may be difficult with a wheelchair) Theater chairs were relatively comfortable. I really didn't have any issue; I'm not sure if they've replaced them since some of the reviews said they were airplane-size. (Absolutely not. They had tons of space to wiggle around in and my knees did not come anywhere near touching the chair in front of me). Parking is a little bit of a pain. There are two parking lots (free) right next to it, but if you're here for a show (because, uh, that's generally the point), you can expect quite a few cars to be queuing for those spots. Nearby roads also offer free parking, and I managed to find a parking spot a couple blocks away, but I would caution that this area isn't super well-lit at night, so I would have preferred to have someone walk with me to my car. For being a historic building, they've definitely put some money and love into it, and it was a really pleasant experience here.

I'd never attended any shows at this theatre before (or CAPA, the organization that runs this and…read moreseveral other venues). The Lincoln Theatre is a historic location in the King-Lincoln-Bronzeville neighborhood. I wish I'd had time to explore the businesses around it, but it looked like rain so I made my way inside. Their website is very good calling it where to park, but the signage for the adjacent parking lot was confusing. I ended up grabbing a spot on the street (free after 6 pm) to be safe. Cause no one wants to be towed on a weekend when you're hundreds of miles from home. The interior of this intimate (under 600 seats) venue is gorgeous. The Art Deco interpretation of Egyptian motifs reminded me a little of the Murat in Indianapolis. My seat was upstairs on an aisle in the balcony (and very comfortable). I didn't see an elevator, so this location may not be accessible for all. My only disappointment with my seat was a large ornamental feature on the railing that slightly obstructed my view of the stage. A taller person might not have this issue. All the staff and volunteers were welcoming and helpful. Bathrooms were downstairs but there were several stalls so the line moved quickly. Overall, it was a wonderful night at the theatre and I hope I have the chance to go back. Highly recommend seeing a show here!

Because the escalators are shut down. Kid K loved it. I got a card with one of the "bulk discount" levels and we (mostly she) played for about 45 minutes on I think $35 (gets you $43.) Pretty good games; she liked the Minecraft shooter the best. Ended up with enough tickets to get a little candy. We'd come back.

Its just not that big a deal…read more I'm going with 2 stars (per Yelp - I'v experienced better). I really have experienced better festivals. This event is supposed to be a community festival that showcases local business, but in the past several years the event just keeps getting more and more blah. There seems to be lots of canopies with vendors under them but its mostly roofing, siding, gutters, churches and other similar businesses. What I would like to see is more of the local businesses coming out to give back to the community by giving out coupons, samples etc. Maybe somebody who plans these events or is involved with these events will see this review and bring this to the right persons attention. There are bounce houses in the middle that are roped off and are only allowed by people with wrist bands. The bands cost $20, what?!? that's terrible. This event is not worth going to and I would recommend spending your time doing something else that is more fun. If I hear that the Festival has changed more to what a community festival should be then I will update my review.

This year was the 16th annual Powell Festival and it was the best I have been to in Ohio yet!…read moreIts right downtown Powell by the kids splash pad which is really nice and perfect for a hot summer day. They had so much to do for kids and adults alike. Foodwise I was a bit dissapointed but had eaten lunch before coming, so that was not a problem. The reason this gets 5 stars from me is that everything (expect for said food) was FREE! We actually left with 3 huge tote bags (also free) PACKED with free goodies! The festival is about local vendors/stores/shops/retailers promoting their businesses. So free toothbrushes/toothpastes from the dentists, free sunglasses from the optical stores, free snacks drinks and coupons from Giant Eagle, free facepainting, free videogame truck for the kids, free ice cream sundaes and coupons for free froyo from Cherry Berry, it went on and on, we spent hours just chatting with vendors and stocking up. Everyone was friendly and in good spirits, it was a great day and a festival I'll be back to for sure!
