A dated and worn out theater, Stephenville is past due for a new one, until then it is worth a drive to Granbury.

I'm surprised nobody has reviewed Hollywood Theaters yet. It's the only place to watch a movie in…read moretown, but it never seems busy. We usually see 5-6 other people at the same movie we're at, even on an opening night for a new movie! They do have busy moments like Twilight releases, but it's still pretty low numbers compared to any other theater I've ever been to. Maybe most people here drive 45 minutes to Stephenville for the dollar movies. Onto my review for today! We saw Bourne Identity, but we heard the movie in the theater beside us much better. They need to fix that. We took the kids to see that Hop movie when it came out but you could hear lots of killing and obscenities from the movie next door. I don't see how there's even enough business to keep 8 theaters going. Put some space between them, make the screens a little bigger and it'd be an awesome experience. The tickest for a 4PM show were $7 each, so for 6 people we spent $42 on tickets and $97 on combo nachos/drinks or popcorn/drinks. Thank goodness for that $0.50 off for the combo. We should have hit the Family Dollar for snacks. We could have bought a microwave and a small generator to make our own popcorn in the theater. I do love theater nachos too, and they do a pretty good job of stuffing the trays with chips. My only problem is the jalapenos. They're hard! How can a pickled, wet jalapeno be hard? I have no idea! They seem larger than your normal nacho jalapenos in a jar, and they're like chewing beef jerky! It sounds unlikely, but it's true! Do they get that way for sitting at room temperature for a few days? I'll have to look that up. The floors are usually sticky, but the seats are large and the arms come up so you can have a little snuggle time, which you'll need because it's 37 degrees in there! That's not a bad thing either when it's 110 outside. Overall, we go because there's no other option without a long drive involved.

We would go more often to the movies if we could find out what and when the movies were! So far,…read moreno answer at the phone # given and no advertisements we could find. We have prepaid tickets but not knowing what is playing or when to be there for the show--we can't go. We live 60 miles away from any theater!

This is a typical multiplex cinema with eight theaters. It is obviously an older theater as the…read moreinterior looks old and worn out. The cost to see a movie for one person, with a small popcorn and small drink cost $28. The movie was okay. There too many flashbacks so I was confused as to what was going on and when it was occurring. The preview trailers were better. The popcorn was good and fresh, not stale. The fountain drink had the right syrup and carbonated water combination setup. The restroom was clean and functioning.

Regal Heartland is a very old theater. It seems it's had little to no remodeling since the 80's. Don't know if the AC needs an upgrade or what but last several times I've been foyer and hallway seem to be a bit warm. Good thing the individual theaters seem to be cool. So yes, the place is dated. I guess my biggest disappointment would be the movies offered are really limited. About three weeks ago the Monday Mystery Movie was My Old Ass. It was suppose to be distributed nationwide but didn't show up here. Being in the middle of nowhere means we will never get any really good shows. In the past three months we've mainly had horror, slasher and other dark shows. I'm guessing that's what our area demographics are buying into. For example: Around July-August all Harry Potter films were seen in order in some markets. I would have loved watching all the Harry Potter films all over again but not available in our theater. All that to say, if you do sign up for Regal Unlimited there is a chance you may have to drive to Abilene, San Angelo, San Antonio or even Dallas if you see a movie advertised that you might like to watch but it's not showing here at Heartland Regal. Other than that, I have enjoyed the movies that I have had to chance to see and hidden gems in our community are the wonderful folks that work there. The employees at Regal Heartland come across as being very friendly, knowledgeable, customer service oriented and hard working. See you at the movies.
