Such a fun place for little ones! We came on a Friday and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Our toddler LOVED the indoor and outdoor exhibits. They have a great picnic area around 2 huge playscapes. You can feed the pond which has a ton of coy fish and turtles. Definitely going to revisit!

We had an amazing time. My boys LOVE Dinosaurs. This is a must stop spot for family. If you come in the summer try to come early to beat the heat. Recommendations make sure you have water, sunscreen, or mosquito repellent and maybe some snacks for the kids.

Very cool spot for all the dinosaur-loving kids out there. It's a bit of a drive from Dallas with toddlers, but definitely worth the trip. We went on a Wednesday afternoon which was perfect as we only saw a few other families there. We started in an indoor area with animatronic dinosaurs that moved and roared (which scared one of the kids) then we transitioned outside to walk the half mile trail with dinosaur replicas scattered about. They even had a pond area where we were able to feed fish and turtles. At the end of the trail there was a playground where they ran around until it was time to leave. The park is small but perfect for toddlers (I brought a 2yo and 4yo). We didn't have time to dig for gems and the other section was still closed due to Covid but still a great time I'd recommend for those with kids.

We did not have any expectations coming here today. 3 adults & a 12 you never know if everyone is going to have a good time or not. Was every dinosaur an exact replicas? Nope! But we did not care. We enjoyed being outside, with each other & had a blast trying to pronounce all the names. I love that the path is one way!!! We did the gems & even a geo. If my son was younger I am sure we would come here a few more times every now & then. I recommend you taking some time & going at least once.

We loved walking through the dinosaurs and learning about them. This place has gem mining, a fossil dig, you can feed the fish, and there's a museum. There's even a playground for the kids and a picnic area. You can definitely spend a whole day here!

A whole lot of fun but it's outdoors so bring your sunscreen and bug spray. The indoor building is the gift shop but they don't have any food so you'll want to bring sandwiches, get food delivered (we heard you could have pizza delivered there), or grab something before you head that way.. Bring cash for the drink machine because IT'S HOT! The highlight was mining. My son and husband didn't want to stop.

This is a tourist-trap type of place right at the intersection where you turn off to go to Dinosaur national park. Look for the large T-Rex. We stopped to take some pictures and check out the gift shop. The little one immediately found a toy she wanted. The store has a large variety of souvenirs, dinosaur toys, t-shirts, cups, etc etc. There is also an excursion for extra payment (map included in my photos, sorry for the glare in one spot) but we did not do it because it did not seem worth the money. Other reviewers enjoyed it so it really is an individual choice. This place is worth checking out if for no other reason than it has AC which feels great on a hot summer day.

Perfect place to go with little kids, as long as you bring a stroller! Pick a day that isn't too hot and roll them around the dinosaur trail. They can play on the dinosaur-themed playground, brush sand from a giant, pretend stegosaurus fossil, and collect tiny sea fossils from another sand thing with a sieve. When you get hot, roll them through the animatronic dinosaur "museum." It's brief, but not too scary and the cool darkness is a wonderful respite from the heat. Pro tip: bring a cooler of water. All we found in the machines were sodas and sugary beverages when we just wanted water, and lots of it! Also has penny pressing, my second favorite souvenir!

We took a little drive out to Glen Rose today to go to Dinosaur World for the first time. We LOVED it! We have a 4 yo and an almost-2 yo who had a blast. We started at the museum and the kids liked the cool fossils, and loved the moving dinos. Then we hiked around the loop and my kid was practically running from dinosaur to dinosaur - great variety and my son liked trying to read the names of uncommon dinosaurs. After that, we went to the fossil dig and spent a few minutes sifting through sand and "fossils" (there were teeth, bones, and shells, etc) before choosing the 3 that we could take home. Next was the huge playground where the kids spent a good amount of time running around with the other kids there, and stopping every now and then for a bite in the shade at the many picnic tables. The last thing we did was the Bone Yard, a large sand pit where you can excavate a stegosaurus. If you have small children, or a child with any interest in dinosaurs, this place is great! We'll be back, for sure!

We traveled here from Houston for our sons 4th birthday. We all had a fantastic time! The fossil dig was the most fun, it's very realistic. The alligators in the lake looked so real it gave my husband and I a fright! Pack a lunch to help save on cost. The vending machines were broken so make sure you bring snacks.

After circling back to the front they have a "fossil dig" where you simply dig up small pieces of fossils.

I only say this because the front door to the art galleries was unlocked, and I helped myself to a leisurely look at the exhibits. Honestly, I probably wasn't supposed to be there, but I didn't know any better. After all that, I very much enjoyed looking around at the art work, as well as the grounds encompassing the buildings. For my next trip, I'll hopefully get better prepared for actual visiting hours. Until then, I'll consider it as a private viewing.

Somewhere in there is even a story of of how Barnard traded with the Indians for a (captured) woman, who later became his wife. I highly recommend reading the Mill Museum info at the web address. The docents are super friendly and will take you through the building, which was bought by Richard Moore on the 2nd August 1979. He restored and furnished it with antiques from the Federal period to the Eastlake period (1775-1875). He established Barnard's Mill Art Museum in the old hospital addition and filled it with the art collection from the Fielder Foundation and art works of his private collection. A must see while in Glen Rose. PS. Did not make it inside on tis trip, as it's only open on weekends and we were here on a Tuesday.
