We had worked with Cindy's in the past and were always satisfied with their products and work. In November, we ordered two window shades after Dara came out and gave us a quote. Our order seemed to get lost for awhile but then mid-December, Jerry called and we scheduled the installation which was finished just before Christmas. BUT in January, they called again, about installing our order! We told them that it was already taken care of. I would advise anyone reading this review to find another spot that cares about there customer long term. Don told us that it was a life time warranty and if we had any problems to contact them. This place and these people are so wonderful!! Nancy at Cindy's Window Fashions was amazing. I've never had curtains custom-made and she answered ALL my many questions and gave the very best advice, with explanations when I needed them. Her expertise and decades of experience really show. My fabric is a large print and the fabric had to be pieced together to be wide enough for the windows. On the finished product, the pattern is absolutely seamless! And you should see the way the panels line up in the front, so that the pattern flows seamlessly, and centered/balanced across the front as well. It's immaculate. Although they are out in Gresham, they could transfer product to Bolliger's, near 33rd and Broadway, close in Northeast Portland. Very convenient for me. We have used Cindy's two different times for mini blinds and a honeycomb slider shade. They are very friendly and professional. Sandra came to our home and helped us to pick out what would work for our windows and door. 3 weeks later the installer came and had them up in less than an hour. I gave them one star but they don't deserve any.... I had them out four years ago to install shutters, the job was perfect. I had them out in August to install more shutters and the job looked like it was done by a child, it was horrible. None of the shutters were flush to the window frame, they were crooked in the frame itself, if you opened them they felt like they were going to fall, the stops were installed crooked and the gaps around the shutters was not even at all. I had them back out on September 8 after several calls because no one would return my calls. They came out with a different installer since I wouldn't allow the first guy back in my house. I called on October 12 to check on the parts that needed ordering, I was told they were to arrive the next day. I called on December 1 to check on the back order since they were to arrive October 13. I got the excuses and I'll get a hold of the installer. Finally on the 8th the installer showed up to reinstall the shades. The first two rooms needed to be swapped because the first installer didn't pay attention to where they went when he unpackaged them. The worse if the lot was in my master bath. The last installer got two out of the three adjusted but there was one that was still crooked in the frame. I was told "just don't look at it" .. really !! My husband took 20 minutes to fix it and the gap all around is perfect. So horrible customer service as in I had to do all the follow up and horrible installation as in my husband had to fix the remaining issues.. If I could give zero stars I would. Shelly was supposed to help me but did just the opposite. After months of wasting my time and money, she then got my drapes canceled without giving me any warning at all. Her incompetence and not being thorough caused the issue on my drapes. I had pre-purchased rods and instead of opening the box to make sure I had the correct ones, she just took a bracket out of the box. She then told me to order the wrong circle rings. Then had me return those, and buy c-rings. Because she never opened the rod box fully, she didn't discover until a couple weeks before my drapes were to be done, that the center bracket was not pass thru and wouldn't work. Rather than suggesting new rods, rings, brackets that would work for my drapes (I told her from the beginning I know nothing about drapes), my order was canceled. I'm sure she blamed the mess she created on me, but I assure you it was her lack of being thorough and her incompetence. She also took a second bracket on her second visit to my house but then claimed to the owner she didn't. Is this called theft? Now I've got one rod set with a missing bracket and can't even return it. Beware that Shelly wears enough perfume to choke a horse as well! I had to open windows and air my house out for 5 hours after she visited. In this day and age, wearing that much fragrance is ridiculous. Unacceptable. Especially with COVID. I found Shelly to be super unprofessional and all around unorganized and unhelpful. I would never recommend her to anyone. I recommend the opposite - that you stay far away! read more

I purchased approx. 23 Hunter Douglas shades for my home from Cindy's Window Fashions 6 years ago. They are covered under warranty for 7 years and one blind in particular, I've had to take down three times and take in for a re-cord. This last time, I told Sandra I didn't feel good about having to do this a third time...as the second time I brought the shade in, I asked they not have the person who did the re-cord prior obviously doesn't know what they're doing. That person did the re-cord anyway. Guess what, same problem. I have bottom up/ top down shades and this one was so wonky when I'd let the shade down it came down about a foot uneven...left side sagging about a foot lower than the right side. Upon examination of the cording at my home I could see the problem with the cords were not even. The day after I brought the shade in for the third time, Donnie the owner called me to tell me he wasn't seeing the same problem on his rack. He asked me to come in to see what he was seeing. I have a job and can't make it in by 5:30 when he closes to see it. He is also not open on Saturdays. He was not going to accommodate me in anyway on time. So I pleaded to his sense of customer service for a customer who spent about $5k on blinds. Since this problem has gone on for a couple years and wasn't happening in his shop, I recommended maybe he'd get to the bottom of my problem and come see it hanging in my home, in my window. No, he was not willing to do that unless if he got there and there was no problem, he would invoice me. I told him to forget it. I would contact another Hunter Douglas dealer and get help from them. When my husband went in to pick up the blind that day, the very problem we were having happened right there in front of Cindy, Sandra and my husband. Do you think they admitted there might be something wrong, that they needed to take care of it? No. They did the same thing Donnie did..."maybe you just don't know how to raise and lower correctly", etc. One excuse after another. My husband told them the same thing I told Donnie...I have 23 of their windows. If we didn't know how to work properly, we'd have problems with all of them. To date, we have problems with just THIS ONE WINDOW!!! The problem for me was more in the way I was treated by Donnie, one of the owners. He was a jerk. His tone and tenor with me was not that of someone who wanted my repeat business. His way or the highway! My blind was picked up at my home from his competitor (isn't that awesome!) and taken to a blind repair place in Portland who fixed it and said I wasn't losing my mind and I would have continued to have problems with this blind. So I likely would have brought back a couple more times in my last year of warranty only to not have it fixed. Donnie told me it was only $65 to re-cord when it's out of warranty. I have no confidence in Cindy's Window Fashions ability to fix my blinds under warranty and certainly won't pay for their repair service as their work is disappointing. Needless to say I will NEVER take my warranty work to them and certainly will never purchase anything from this place of business again. They do not deserve my business! If you want service after the sale, my experience is they are short on delivering and the treatment is as bad as the non-service! read more

The strings on some of our window blinds weren't working correctly. We'd heard about Cindy's from family members that had purchased there and had a great experience. Husband took the blinds in, they were repaired for us quickly and for a fair price. Went back to buy some new blinds for other windows and received friendly, professional help. They have curtains, blinds, bedding and pillows with lots of fabrics to choose from. Very nice showroom in Gresham Station shopping center area. Plus they're a locally owned and operated business. We ordered window coverings for nearly every window in the home. Cindy's had a lot of options for quality and budget. We worked with Michele, and she was great. She helped us find the right covering for each of our oddly shaped windows. The blinds were all pretty expensive, but high-quality and professionally installed. Several months later, we are still extremely happy with our purchases. Don't procrastinate. They will come out and bring samples, measure all of your windows, etc. It's all very easy. read more
