although this place was an excellent location as in a walk to all and the room was very modern…read morethere are some issues with the room. First the the only air conditioner was in the bathroom and it was a small room size a/c so if you took a shower the a/c was in the bathroom making the rest of the room even warmer. Air was way too small for that size room. Second problem was we used the microwave and the shut off the room circuit breaker for the fridge/TV/microwave leaving us with out all three from 10 pm until we left the next morning at 9. Owner is not on the premises and when he was called we were told that there was nothing that could be done since the breaker box was in another room which was occupied..

What a rip off! 1950s style mostly resident motel "rehabbed" but NOT worth rates charged. We had 2…read moresingle rooms for one night in offseason, total charge $268. Most restaurants closed on Tues and Wed. Part-time manager, Karl, friendly and somewhat helpful, but doors need new, more secure locks, elec outlet in my son's room didn't work so no bedside light, neither of us had even plastic cups in the room, and mine didn't have a wastebasket, 1/3 roll of toilet tissue provided. Few amenities in rooms (no facial tissue, hair dryer, toothpaste; soap was size of butter pat), tho they were clean and newly painted w new mattresses. But the pillows were the worst I've ever seen, mine like torpedoes--neither of us could use them. Small refrigerator kept making loud noises all night. In a small room. If rate was $70 or $80/night, would be ok, but this price for what you get, even near the lake, in this tiny out of the way town in offseason is ridiculous. However, the Spaghetti Factory restaurant was really good. Other better restaurants were closed in early May.

Apparently the noisy neighbor decided to extend their stay. Instead of moving us to a new room, which was certainly an option, they left us next to him and we again had very little sleep. Never again. These folks do not care about their guests. Update. While I do not condone the front desk response during our stay, I did contact Wyndham and they refunded our stay. I appreciate this corporation for their response, while never expecting or asking for a refund

But once you step into the place, you are pleasantly surprised that this does not appear to be your typical La Quinta. They have a shuttle to the casino if you desire to lose money. The staff at night when we arrived were not overly friendly, but the staff in the morning more than made up for it. The continental breakfast and coffee we're halfway decent. The room was surprisingly quiet given the number of long-term construction workers staying here. As with other hotels with long-term construction work or staying there, there is way too much secondhand smoke as you walk into the building, as there is an area to the left of the entrance.

The studios that we stayed in were clean and spacious. Overall, the hotel and premises were very clean. The front desk folks were super friendly. Also, there was a daily complimentary hot breakfast served from 6:30 - 9:30 AM Mon-Fri and 7 - 10 AM on Sat-Sun. Some complimentary breakfasts tend to be quite sad, but NOT THIS ONE. For the hot foods there were scrambled eggs, omelettes, sausage links, bacon strips, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches (YES, you read that right) and French toast sticks. There was also quite a variety of pre-packaged cereal, yogurts, milk/chocolate milk, pre-packaged banana and blueberry muffins and juice. Honestly, this was probably one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts I've had! If I had to create an ideal budget hotel with a complimentary breakfast, this hotel would be it. Definitely would stay here again in the future. (P.S. For you gamblers, the Turning Stone Resort Casino is literally across the street and they have shuttles daily from here!)

The all hours shuttle to and from the casino was very convenient. The room was clean and was nice to have a little kitchen/seating area where my friend and I had a place to enjoy a drink together. From the tower to the lodge and even the original hotel rooms at the casino, our overall very nice and even the most regular rooms are well appointed and comfortable. This hotel is not that! It is a former microtel hotel that has been purchased and rebranded by Turning Stone as the sandstone hollow inn. It's not bad, but when you have stayed at the actual Turning Stone casino before, you will be disappointed. This is about 1 mi past Turning Stone, which they do make clear when you book it on the website. There are a few other casino hotels that do have separate properties but they are on their lodge property. In those cases, such as that Foxwoods, they are still pretty nice and walkable to the casino. It's a great option for those who maybe want to stay on business but need to be a small effort away from the casino for positive reasons. You can still get there with a shuttle or a bit of a walk, but you will save your wallet by having to be a little more strategic about it The hotel is cute and clean when you enter the lobby. They do offer a nice continental breakfast, with cereal, toast, yogurt, and waffles. I had a queen suite and it is okay. It is a sort of renovated hotel room that's pretty standard. The bed is comfortable, and the room is pretty big. There is a sitting area with a couch and a bar stool type area. There's also a little window seat if you want to be romantic in a two star hotel. The temperature control in the room is really bad. It doesn't stay on even though you have an option, and it gets too warm or too cold really fast. It's an old style heater where you turn it on directly at the unit, versus on the wall. The shower is okay, with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall. There's no body lotion either. Again, these aren't really big deals but compared to the turning stone hotels on their property, it is a big degradation comparatively. Would I stay here again? No. It is a little bit cheaper than the turning stone resort but you are giving up a lot and not getting anything too nice. I guess if you are here on business only, it wouldn't be a bad choice.
