Here in the area for business and looking for a Great hotel. Let me tell you something, this Marriott did not disappoint. Clean, well maintained rooms with your basic hotel living essentials, fridge and microwave oven. The lobby area always had hot coffee, water, tea bags and milk. They will gladly refill the carafe for you when the pots are running low. I used the gym and my only complaint is that the workout area is quite small, but it does the trick. The pool is well, your basic Marriott suite pool. House cleaning did a Great job tidying up my room. The complimentary morning breakfast was pretty good, scrambled eggs, bacon and veggie patties and hot oatmeal. Chobani yogurts were also available. Love the make it yourself waffle iron, waffles anyone? Yes please! The whole staff here was very friendly. I definitely will stay here again when in the area.

This was my first time ever staying at a Fairfield Inn & Suites. I've stayed at other Marriott properties - full blown Marriott hotels - and Courtyards. This Fairfield Inn is located in Verona, NY across the street from Turning Stone Casino. My room was comfortable and clean. The bed was firm enough, and there were plenty of pillows. The room included an HDTV (I don't know if they had any HD service - I did not watch TV. The AC worked well and they offer free wireless internet access. Service was good, staff was friendly. The one thing that I will ding them on is their breakfast is a bare bones offering. Toast, bagels, cold cereals, juice, hard boiled eggs, and such. There are a couple of places next door to the hotel to eat: Recovery Sports Bar & Grill and a Dunkin' Donuts. Both are good! I would definitely stay here again!

There was no canopy so if it rained, the wedding was going to be moved indoors, which is certainly not what was paid for. I only know this as I called the wedding a week before as I was reading the weather report - NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I had to ask my daughter, the bride, what would happen if it rained. The bridal party had to wait out in the sun but were scolded by the wedding coordinator because we were waiting in the shade in another venue (scheduled to begin an hour later). They booked the venue back to back so there was little time for pictures after the ceremony and because they booked 2 weddings in the same venue so close together, they tried to shame the bride into foregoing communion because it would add length to the ceremony itself. The promised signature drink was brought out at the end of the night, and the bride only had a very limited selection for a "signature". The wedding coordinator told the bridal party and DJ about timing of the gates closing and bride arriving to venue and blamed the DJ when it wasn't right. The hor devours were cold and brought out by 2 people a single tray at a time so depending on where you were seated as a guest, you may not have received them. Only one bartender for 110 guests. Hundreds of dollars in champagne was wasted because the wedding coordinator told the servers to pick up all champagne glasses from the tables - even the ones that had not yet been drunk. When I and other guests complained to the wedding coordinator, she was rude to us. Servers cleared plates with food on them without asking if the guest was done eating. The reception downstairs music was so loud we couldn't hear the speeches upstairs and the bathrooms were inaccessible as they were downstairs where the other reception was taking place - leaving 1 restroom upstairs for all the guests. There was a complete lack of signage which was particularly important with multiple weddings occurring at the same time. Guests had absolutely no idea of where to go for their wedding or reception. The videographer hired by Dibbles for their marketing campaign blocked the view of guests and the bride and groom-hired photographer during the ceremony. While the grounds and venue are absolutely stunning, be mindful of timing with other weddings, get EVERYTHING in writing and ask for a wedding coordinator that is not Pam. No guest, member of the bridal party or MOB should be treated like a child or policed by a wedding coordinator.

My brother was married here in June, and I attended not only as the groom's sister and a…read morebridesmaid, but also as their photographer. I've been photographing weddings for over 15 years, so I've experienced venues of every size and style. I rarely leave reviews, but I genuinely hope this one helps future couples make an informed decision. I'll start with the positives. The property itself is beautiful and photographs well. The bridal suite had wonderful natural light, which photographers appreciate, and it was stocked with champagne, juice, coffee, and glassware. The outdoor ceremony space was lovely, and despite questionable weather, the ceremony itself was beautiful. Unfortunately, that's where our positive experience ended. The morning started with unnecessary confusion because the bridal suite wasn't actually at the venue itself. We were texted an address that led us to what appeared to be a multi-unit house several minutes away. Both our bridal party and another bridal party arrived at the same time, equally confused and trying to figure out where we were supposed to go. It would have been incredibly helpful to receive clearer instructions ahead of time. One of the biggest disappointments was how restrictive the timeline was. Despite arriving early, we were not allowed to use the grounds for bridal party portraits or bride and groom portraits before the ceremony. As a wedding photographer, this was shocking. Most couples choose to do many of these portraits beforehand so they can actually enjoy cocktail hour with their guests. Because of this policy, the bride and groom spent nearly their entire cocktail hour taking photos instead of celebrating with family and friends. The venue advertises itself as "all-inclusive," which initially sounds appealing. However, one downside is that couples have very little flexibility with vendors, including the DJ. Before the wedding I tried to find examples of the DJ's work, event videos, social media, or anything that showcased previous weddings, but there was essentially nothing available. Looking back, that became one of my biggest concerns. Sadly, those concerns turned out to be justified. Throughout the reception, the music failed four separate times. The first few outages were brief, but by the fourth outage there were only about 20 minutes left in the reception, and the dance floor sat silent for roughly five minutes. Guests literally started singing songs themselves while waiting for the music to come back on. Considering how much dancing time was lost, I was surprised the venue didn't offer even a small extension to make up for it. The DJ also missed many of the small but important announcements that help guests enjoy the evening. There was a photo booth, guest signing board, memory table, cake display, and favors placed throughout the room, but none of these were ever announced. Many guests likely never knew they were there because they were tucked into corners away from the main reception. Cocktail hour was unusually long because all formal portraits had to happen after the ceremony. By the time the wedding party returned, food service was essentially ending and we were rushed directly into reception introductions without really having a chance to eat. The buffet food was average at best, and several dishes were overcooked or mushy. We were hungry enough that we ate anyway, but it certainly wasn't memorable for the right reasons. The bar service was another disappointment. The bartender came across as rude throughout the evening, the mixed drinks were noticeably weak, several beers were flat, and bottled beverages required an additional charge. None of these issues individually would have ruined the day. Weddings are unpredictable, and something almost always goes wrong. What was disappointing was the number of avoidable problems combined with the apparent lack of urgency to fix them or make things right. Thankfully, my brother and his wife were surrounded by amazing family and friends who made the best of every situation. The love in the room completely overshadowed the venue's shortcomings, and they still had a beautiful wedding because of the people there--not because of the experience provided by the venue. I truly hope management takes reviews like this seriously. The venue has so much potential because the property itself is lovely, but the coordination, communication, vendor quality, and overall execution need significant improvement. Couples deserve to enjoy their wedding day instead of working around preventable problems.
