This was our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast and it was lovely. The owner, Clark, was friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home them moment we arrived. Our room was clean, the water pressure for the shower was powerful, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in on vacation. Clark cooked delicious breakfasts with the freshest ingredients, and was accommodating to our food restrictions/preferences. Also noteworthy, the B&B is off the main street and next to the lake so it is the perfect spot when staying in Skaneatales, NY. I would recommend anyone to book a stay at 2 W Lake B&B if you are making your way to this town and want to feel a part of the community even if you are only staying for the weekend.

He was very comfortable and loved the large green space outside. *We also liked that it was adults only when we were there. Cons: Parking is a little tight. When we arrived, we had trouble getting into door #1 but we figured it out. It was stuck and you had to push it hard to get it open. We wished there was more closet space or more space to put our two suitcases. The road The Bond is located on gave me "Pet Semetary" vibes... it's a highway with many fast cars and semi trucks driving by and there's no barrier between the grass and the road. Definitely keep your pets on a leash. Also to note, my husband was under the impression The Bond was located on the lake based on the photos from the website and the room we stayed in was advertised as "Lake View King, Room 1". This b&b is actually located across highway 41 from the lake and we could barely see it. This was a disappointment.

The inn keepers were wonderful hosts and did not overlook any details. Breakfasts were three courses each morning and delicious and suprising -- never a typical country breakfast. My husband and I stayed in Laura's room, which was beautiful. Actually, the whole house looks impeccable. There are free snacks and drinks and a living room area guests can use downstairs. When we went in the summer we were woken up early by the sound of many birds singing. Then we had breakfast. We're not usually breakfast-people, but the fresh fruit and mint ( some from the garden) with yogurt, honey and preserved lemon were incredible. The daily breakfast was prepared from scratch and was all locally sourced and prepared perfectly. Our wedding day was literally perfect and Frog Pond was a big part of the reason why. We found one that only charged us ten bucks for the night. We were in town for a concert at the Landmark, which is literally across the street. After the concert ended, we were back in our hotel room in about five minutes. There are also tons of great bars and restaurants all within a few blocks. Our room was clean and spacious enough for two people, and the bathroom was roomy and clean.

We got a king suite with a separate kitchen and sitting area, as we were not leaving our room much due to surgery. The room was spotless, the bed was so comfortable and there were a lot of pillows. You could have parked a Buick in the bathroom! We ended up being done with our medical appointments two day early. They were unable To refund our room (which they were not obligated to do anyway) but willingly gave us one free nights stay voucher. How wonderful is that! So accommodating and nice. The two staff ladies at the desk were so kind to us. This hotel has a "wall of fame" where you can see a few of the stars who have stayed there. It's in the heart of a city circle area where there are some shops and restaurants to walk to. Again, we were only able to leave for a bit (for our sanity) but it's location was perfect for a walk. Some other reviews must be by those hard-to-please or never-satisfied types based on the silly things they mentioned. If you are looking for problems you'll always find them. B&B should be R&R. That's what it was and means return trips are to be planned.
