Another fantastic evening at Cinco! Our server Thelma and her trainee were great. Food and drinks were wonderful, will go again soon.

Manny the bartender/server was really great! Very friendly, made good suggestions and made me feel welcome! I came in close to closing and he did not make me feel rushed at all! He made me a really good skinny margarita with Tajín rim, he even suggested good tequilas to try! The chips and guacamole were amazing! I was a little disappointed that they don't have a queso appetizer. I tried the beef sope which was pretty good. I got the Michoacán fajitas and even though he did tell me that they use some of their Thai sauce in them, I did not like it. It was very sweet and had a weird flavor. I much prefer traditional fajita seasoning, so keep that in mind when you are ordering. It is a very large portion for the price so expect leftovers! The beef was definitely overcooked and dry. Even though these items weren't marked as gluten free I assumed they were because I got corn tortillas but I did end up having a reaction so I should have clarified better before ordering. He let me try all the salsas - mild was no spice and honestly not much flavor, medium was very spicy and hot was basically inedible for me. I did not try the Thai food, but might if I am ever back in the area. As for ambiance there isn't much to be honest. The bar was sad. All the liquor just sitting on metal wire racks with no actual bar or shelves. The restaurant furniture all looks old and needs to be updated. read more

Mexican AND Thai food? Together? At the same restaurant? Now that's a wild combination! I finally put on my adventurous eater pants and tried Cinco's special menu for the 2025 SB restaurant week in July of 2025. My boyfriend and I got to split an appetizer of pork dumplings (5 are included) and got our own chicken fajitas for our main for a total of $35, tax and tip not included. He also tried the limited time mango pineapple vodka cocktail ($9) while I got a mango margarita mocktail with a tajin rim ($6). The pork dumplings needed more than just a solid lump of pork in there, his drink was way too basic for the price, and the guacamole should have been the chunky kind (so basic in its smoothness!) but our fajitas were fantastic and my mocktail was delicious, despite being alcohol free. I was pleased to learn that they offered tajin as a rim seasoning! Is that common and I just don't know it? Idk, but it is one of my first encounters having that offered! The corn tortillas were blessedly warmed up as well. We were "trying" to eat healthy, hence the fajitas, but I want to try their pad Thai on my next visit! So bad for me but so, so good. read more

When my go-to Mexican restaurant was closed, I asked the hotel staff for a recommendation. Cinco was recommended, and it was within walking distance! Upon entering, I was surprised to learn it's a Thai/Mexican restaurant. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try. The staff was friendly and helpful with menu ideas. I did get it to go, and it was out in less than 5 minutes. I ordered a burrito with everything and the "Diablo" salsa. Though the burrito was tasty, the side of rice had an Asian fusion taste that was throwing off the meal. The Diablo salsa was wonderful on the burrito and strong enough to cover the odd taste of the rice. All in all a good meal. I was satisfied, but will likely not return. read more

Our first time there 3/14/26. Glad we got there early (5:00) it filled up quickly. The owner waited on us. Thelma was and is fantastic!. I've never eaten Thai food before, it was incredible! We tried the deep fried spinach, huh???? Well was incredible as well. Everyone with us was very satisfied with the food, service and the atmosphere. They also have this young man that comes around and chats with you a little bit which is a nice touch. The owner does that until she get swamped with customers. We love this place. Stumbled upon this place while in town on business. The space has almost no ambiance, there is actually particle boards on some of the walls. Maybe a repair is going on? From there things got much better. Very small bar with about 4 seats young man behind the bar was great. He recommended a tequila or two was attentive and friendly. The food is unique and he actually told me why. If you go ask why Thai and Mexican. Guacamole and chips excellent, Thai eggroll ok a touch greasy but tasty. Had an excellent and tasty dinner here with my father. Critical: the guacamole absolutely stole the show. Some of the best I've ever had in the world - creamy, flavorful, fresh. Chips were great too, but you can tell they are super fried/greasy. We enjoyed our entrees (Thai and fajitas) too. Came here for a business lunch. Interesting concept of Mexican and Thai food, but hey, it's two things I love under one roof! There are two things they're missing though, Thai iced coffee and Crab Rangoon. The Pad See Ew is good, not as good as the place I loved in Indianapolis but a close second. My friend's fajitas smelled amazing. I've had takeout here before too. The only thing I don't understand is the design of the inside of the restaurant, it feels under construction to me. If that's how it always is, I think they need to consider a change because it doesn't feel inviting, it just seems odd and slapped together. I'm sure I'll be back for more takeout lunches! read more

Unusual concept - the menu is half Mexican and half Thai. Choices include nearly everything in that there are chicken, steak, fish, and ground beef - and several dishes give you the option of which you want. There's even vegetarian. Servers were friendly. We had dinner there on Saturday night, and I wasn't sure what to expect because the menu is split between Thai and Mexican, but isn't fusion. We decided to try Thai and it was good overall, but I was kind of upset at the unannounced upcharge from chicken (which is standard in each dish) to beef...which ended up being a $7 upcharge per dish. Im ok with an upcharge, but $14 extra is a little over the top. We were able to explain to the waitress that unless she explains this big upcharge to people; her tips will surely be affected, no matter how good her service was. The restaurant theme is weird, too, because there really isn't a theme. I don't know whether to be happy because the food was good or upset because the overall price was extreme compared to what the menu said. My Pad Thai was $21 with beef, which was way too much, in my opinion, when there is an even better Pad Thai option up the street for $12.95. read more

Interesting Thai-Mexican fusion menu from Cinco 5. Everything from Red Curry to Quesadillas. Tried the steak arracherra fajitas for lunch. Full disclosure, I am a HUGE fan of arracherra from my time working in Mexico so my expectations were very high going in. Final verdict: it wasn't arracherra, at least not what I know as arracherra. But it was good. Very good. My colleagues tried the red curry and a shrimp quesadilla and both were very satisfied with their meals. Service was good and ambiance was OK. All in all a perfect lunch after a long morning of travel. Would certainly come here again. read more

I was a little hesitant coming to a restaurant that boasts skillful culinary in both Thai and Mexican cuisine because usually most restaurants are good at 1! However, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious our Mexican and Thai dishes came out!! I ordered the Pad Pak and my bf ordered Mexican Quesadilla and both came out so yummy! I wish that my Pad Pak was spicy! Warning: the service here is so slow! It took us almost 20 minutes to get our drinks in and another 15 minutes to get the food ordered. The restaurant wasn't super busy, I think they were just slower than your typical restaurant. Other than that, the staff here is so nice and the food is delicious. read more

The food was delicious. Our one complaint is the portions of protein in both our dishes were very small. Our Pad Thai and fajitas had about 1/3 of the chicken and beef typical for these dishes. There is also an up charge if you need more than 4 tortillas for your fajitas. We had never seen that before. Again, other than those portion concerns, the dishes were quite tasty. read more

Hearing about the restaurant, I kind of had to make sure reviews fusions aren't always the best, but this one was absolutely amazing. The food was perfect. I ordered Thai food and Mexican food. The next time I went both times it was great. The tower of margaritas were extremely tasty, and definitely serve the purpose. Our waitress was extremely kind and sweet. I knew everyone in my family, which made it even more fun. The ambience was chic and very modern will definitely enjoy going back and actually I think I will go there tonight for dinner. read more

Took a flyer on a quick dinner at Cinco5 the other night before catching a SB Cubs game. First timer. Our server and her trainee had smiling faces and were very helpful with the menu. Had the guacamole app and the Pad Prik Pao and they were both delicious. The Thai dish was full of fresh vegetables, had a flavorful sauce, and the amount of heat was perfect. We have heard nothing but good things about Cinco 5 so we decided to try it out. The service was excellent. We asked many questions and our server was gracious and helpful with her answers. The ambiance has something to be desired. There are two main dining areas. One is cozy with all booth seating. The other, where we sat, is more wide open with a few tables and no booths. IMO it's quite an odd set up. They could benefit from an interior designer. Not really a big deal to me though. The food...ah, the food! Chef's kiss to you Cinco 5! Amazing! We started with the pork dumplings. So good with the spicy dipping sauce. I had the pad thai with a heat level of 2 as suggested by our server. The portion was generous but still a tad spicy for me. Next time I'll try spicy #1. The hubs had the chicken and steak fajitas. They didn't come out sizzling like our neighboring table's did but he wasn't mad. The man is a fajita connoisseur, these take the top spot! Both meats were tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. Two big !! What a great meal! We can't wait to return to Cinco 5.
