Cinco de Mayo is a bit underwhelming. The food was good, but the drinks were subpar (margaritas were lacking), and the service was very slow. We were sat at a high top in the bar area and our waitress was also bartending so we were nearly done with our chips and salsa by the time she came over to take our drink order. Being new to the neighborhood, we'll probably give it another try at some point, but it wasn't a stand out experience compared to other places in the area. read more

We were finally able to eat here. The food is very authentic and amazingly delicious. So many choices on the menu, it was hard to decide. I ended up getting the Seafood Burrito, the fish and shrimp inside was very fresh, did not taste like it was frozen or anything. Very, very delicious!!! One of the better Mexican Restaurants in NH. I had the chimichangas (one chicken one beef) the chicken was more flavorful than the beef, but both were really good, crunchy and delicious. We've been looking forward to trying this place forever. I wish I would have waited longer. Growing up in SoCal, my expectations are low for Mexican food here in New England. There is no hot food storage space at the door, so if the order is complete before i arrive, it just sits there on a table getting cold. Do NOT expect delivery to work from this place. The food here is fine, and I've gotten takeaway from them a few times without an issue. But tonight I thought I'd have it delivered so that it would be at my doorstep when I got home, because I was getting home late from across town and thought I'd save myself the trip. Their website has a link for Doordash, so you'd assume that they're well equipped for delivery... It got to be ~45 mins after the estimated delivery time, then the driver informed me that they had been given the the wrong order at the restaurant and were on the way back to switch it out. When they got back to restaurant to pick up the correct order, the restaurant said that the order must have been stolen and that they would not provide a replacement without another payment, then sent the driver away. Ruined my night, as after this hour and a half ordeal, it was too late to bother getting dinner from somewhere else. Definitely won't be patronizing this place again after this. My husband and I ate here for lunch. Very few inhouse customers due to Covid but it was without a doubt the best Mexican food I have ever had! The decor is cute, the music festive and service was very good!i had the shrimp loco burrito, nice presentation and tasted as good as it looked! I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I recently moved to from Brooklyn to Dover and had been extremely disappointed in the Mexican food in New Hampshire. My wife, who lived in San Diego for many years, and I discovered this place while walking around. We were incredibly impressed by the food and absolutely loved the tacos. We have never tasted fried beans this good either. The restaurant feels like a genuine Mexican restaurant and the price is also typical for the area. I noticed some comments focused on the margaritas being a mix. I do not have enough experience drinking margaritas to tell the difference, but I know most restaurants create their most popular drinks in bulk and put them in non-descriptive containers. This may be the case here as everyone else in our party enjoyed the drinks and food. The service has also been great. The servers are friendly and often help liven the atmosphere. We have heard the bartenders sing to each other. They also get very excited about football (soccer)! read more

I had a great dinner at their Epping location and was told a sister spot was open in the nearby town of Dover. I came for what was meant to be a light, pre-flight lunch, and those were my famous last words. I ordered El Tellez, a heaping mound of sizzling ribeye mixed with a perfectly seasoned, not-too-spicy sauce, and fresh veggies. It comes with tortillas but those are a bonus - you can eat it on its own and savor just as much of the kick. We also ordered the camarones gratinados - just imagine a sizzling plate of grilled shrimp covered in onions, peppers, and queso. Even when it eventually stopped sizzling it was covered in warm, cheesy bliss. My prickly pear margarita was great, and I am not much of a fruity margarita person to begin with, so I was pleasantly surprised. This is the best Mexican food on the seacoast!!! The free chips and salsa they bring you as soon as you sit down are perfect and I love how they have pitchers of margaritas if you wanna get a lil tipsy. Their burritos are my favorite, every time I take my first bite I say "oh my godddd" because of how delicious it is. I recommend to avoid & eject - here's why: We visited during lunch & sat at the bar. The bartender offered my husband a house margarita because it was "on sale. $5.00! Well, $4.99." Next thing I knew, he started pouring a pre-made margarita out of a windshield washer fluid-like bottle? We tasted 0 alcohol, all premixed & served underneath the bar, room temperature onto a small glass of ice. Never once were we offered a tequila upgrade. I will say they had a decent selection of beers on tap - I went for Dos Equis which was served cold. The ONLY good move I made! Also, we noticed anyone who asked for a spicy margarita got it mixed in a 1980's old Pepsi cup shaker - couldn't they invest in a real shaker? Glasses were all turned in the ice bin to wet the rim for salt. Hopefully - there are no glass shards in there from them doing this? I asked for the lunch 2 Street Tacos $8.99 but made with shrimp if possible. I then spent the next 5 minutes explaining I'm "ok if he charges me $1.00 more for shrimp - it's fine. No big deal." Then he tried to get me to purchase the dinner shrimp tacos for $12.99. Finally he settled on street tacos, sub shrimp with a side of guacamole. It was delivered lightning speed - how could things be cooked that fast unless "Chef" Microwave was involved? The 2 tortillas were refrigerator cold, inside were MAYBE 2-3 shrimps diced up and 3x the diced onions. I had to look because at first - it looked like there was nothing inside. It was served on a folded big old piece of wax paper. All the canned refried beans sunk underneath the wax paper so I would need to scrape it off with my fork if I dared to eat it. The rice was the blandest I've ever eaten. It was like my kids took white rice and spray painted it orange. My plate looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture on the menu. I pointed out the wax paper to the bartender & he argued with me that they do it to keep the tacos out of the beans. Well, maybe put the refried beans in a small bowl because the result is nasty. My husband ordered the beef Burrito Mojado which says it comes with a side of rice & beans. He got 1/2 chicken 1/2 ground beef on a huge square plate with the rice and beans INSIDE the burrito. The cheese sauce had a strange "film" on it. Tasted terrible & loaded with grease from the meat. The side of guac had a weird taste to it so we asked about it. The bartender insisted it was "freshly made. Well, BUT we add a bunch of sour cream in it so it lasts longer." Please don't tell me that! How long has it "lasted?" Just then - the guy next to us at the bar called the bartender over because he bit into his chimichanga and came out with a bread twist tie. All my reviews - I always find the positive. However, this restaurant claiming to be "Dover's First Authentic Mexican Restaurant" makes this impossible. Dover and Seacoast residents deserve a restaurant that "tries." I'm pretty sure the previous 5 star reviewers were from owners & co-workers that made me think "well, it has to be good?" No. It's terrible. I'd go zero if possible but one star for cold beer, nice fresh paint on the walls & removing the not-so-street tacos from my bill. Mixteca in Durham crushes this place. I miss my $27 spent here. I've been here a couple times now and can say Cinco de Mayo is a great addition to downtown Dover! The service is friendly and quick. We had the tableside guacamole this time which is fun to watch being prepared and was delicious. The preparer made it extra spicy. The food comes out fast and hot. Just the right amount of spice with everything I've had and tons of flavor. The steak street tacos are my favorite. They also make great margaritas. The spicy Diablo margarita is fantastic. They've also got a couple good beers for a Mexican restaurant. Both times we've been in the owner has checked in multiple times and is very friendly. This place was such a disappointment. I feel so sorry for people who think this is actually good Mexican!! My friends and I stopped here on our way home to MA after a long day of hiking in the White Mountains. It was Saturday night, and not very busy at all. It started off well enough, chips and watered down salsa. We were starving after our hike so we helped ourselves to the salty chips. When the actual food came was when disaster struck. The food came out less than ten minutes after we ordered, and the ridiculously huge white serving plates were much hotter than the actual food. I was starving so I tried to dig in to the veggie quesadilla I ordered, but the overwhelming taste of lukewarm processed cheese had me stopping after a few bites. The tostada I ordered reminded me of something they would serve in a low budget cafeteria and looked so unappetizing that I didn't even touch it. After a few bites of weird refried beans and dry rice, I called it quits. So unsatisfied. My friend ordered a $13 margarita that was probably (at least) 80% sour mix. When she voiced her displease with whatever ended up on her plate, the waiter was pretty rude about it and didn't offer to do much of anything to make sure she left happy. After a five minute argument about why she was wrong about disliking her food (he was acting like she was totally crazy), they finally ended up removing the food from her bill, leaving her to chug the rest of her overpriced sour mix concoction so we could get the hell out of there. And, about a half hour after we left, the three bites I had of the quesadilla came back to haunt me and I had an unsettled stomach for the rest of the night. I wish we had thought to take pictures of the food to validate this review, but please trust me: if you want Mexican food, go elsewhere. Go far, far away from this place. The food here is worth a very small fraction of what they are actually charging you and, unless you've never tasted real Mexican food, you will leave upset and hungry. read more

HORRIBLE. I'm not picky and have worked in plenty of restaurants. Way overpriced, no booze in the margarita, 3 meals were ready in 2 minutes (microwaved and served on huge hot square plates to make you think there was an oven involved). My friend got a tostada and I got a chalupa and they were identical (and Taco Bell would have had more flavor). I bit into a "chimichanga" (miniature tortilla rolled up covered in Kraft cheese), and it had a big bayleaf in it which was the last straw. I tried to send it back and the smug waiter was so defensive telling me it was supposed to be in there and I was supposed to eat it. I was clearly upset he was not trying to remedy the situation. Instead of trying to fix anything he sent the check over with a younger girl who told me he comped the gross meal. I was excited to see a new restaurant in Dover! The only other close place is Dos Amigos and I really have never been a fan of them. The place is new and decorated beautifully with Mexican music, paintings and decor inside. I ordered the nachos supreme. There was a bit too much lettuce and bean for me but they were absolutely delicious and I don't regret getting them at all. The customer service is wonderful the manager was making his rounds checking on tables, my waitress was wonderful and polite, and though I didn't have any guacamole the people next to me did and were raving about how it was the best they had ever had. So next time I'll need to try that. They also had churros which are one of my favorite dishes I was so excited to order them. Really good place- I'm curious how their burritos and tacos do but everything I had was delicious! Edit: I totally forgot that their drinks and portions are huge and amazing! Twice in one week... warm, fresh chips and a good, zingy salsa with just enough cilantro. First visit, I had a combo with a chile relleno, tamale, and chicken enchilada. It was very good. Great flavoring on the tamale, though the masa was a little thick. The relleno had a good flavor also, though I would like the batter to be a little less soggy. This does not come with rice and beans, but I was completely full. Second visit, we tried the queso fundido which was amazing. It's a giant, flat cast iron bubbling with cheese and chorizo. Mmmmm. I also got the San Jose Burrito, a house specialty. It was a very large tortilla filled with marinated chicken, chorizo, onions, rice, beans, covered with a white cheese sauce. The coconut margarita was awesome, though I might suggest they don't leave all the ice in the glass. Both nights, the service was very good and very fast. It's nice to have some real Mexican food (ie not Tex-Mex like Margarita's) right in Dover. I hope they stick around! read more

And I have finally found one, the food is to die for, the servers are so friendly and are always checking making sure that everything is ok and that u don't need anything. I have been there like 5-6 times and I am a customer for life. Every time I go I get the same thing lol the burritos deluxe, my husband well he has said he will try everything on the menu lol, I'm very pleased to finally have a wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant to go to, if you haven't gone in and tried it yet you should u will not leave disappointed.
