Great food definitely our new taco Tuesday go to!!!! Great recommendation from a great friend

I live a half a block away from this restaurant... A few years back it used to be really really good,.. then they decided to open up a Cinco on Center Avenue.. the food at the Center Avenue location is really good the one on Pacheco boulevard lacks a lot of everything!. My complaint is about the fiesta burrito I love purchasing the one with the carnitas in it and it's supposed to come with everything in it sour cream, avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, a choice of meat the rice and beans. Every time I order one there I think they gave me the wrong order because I don't see any cheese or sour cream or avocado a couple of tomatoes maybe never lettuce and it's mainly a bunch of meat with beans but it's what I ordered a fiesta burrito. So today I happen to go to the one on Center Avenue and ordered the same thing.. I couldn't believe the difference! the fiesta burrito was full of sour cream, avocado, cheese, chunks of tomatos and some lettuce all wrapped up with the beans and the pork.. no comparison at all to the one on Pacheco boulevard!. I heard a few years back the head chef that used to be here on Pacheco boulevard is now at the Center Avenue restaurant and I believe it!, so from now on I'm going to make the trip to the center Avenue Cinco even though the one on Pacheco is only a half a block from my house because you get what you pay for, and I almost forgot to mention the salsa.. the salsa at the Cinco on Pacheco is so watered down.. the one on Center Avenue is full of chunks and it's thick, unbelievable! read more

I am door dash driver. Nov, 01 at 10:00 AM I got order from This restaurant, the lady behind counter tell the order is not ready and waiting time 10 min. Same time I get another order from neighbor's restaurant and decide to better serve costumers, to go and get order from another restaurant and back to Cinco De Mayo. I told cashier "I'll be back in 5 min" and got order from Vic's . In 5 min I came back to Cinco De Mayo but lady behind the counter told " She report to door dash the driver refuse to waiting and left restaurant without order" Finally costumer cancel order and lady refused to work with me anymore. read more

I have three criteria with any restaurant Hospitality Food taste (100% subjective) But my most important is consistency. This establishment fails on consistency That the reason for three stars. Staff is always nice but food is a hit or miss. read more

Food is absolutely horrible. The steak was so bad I couldn't even eat it. It was tough and dry. Dog food is more tinder than what they are serving. I accidentally ordered from the wrong cinco de mayo. The one in concord is a thousand times better. 2 stars because they give you a tiny bag of chips. read more

My kids were telling me how Cinco's food is awesome! I decided to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised they had great customer service. The team is hardworking and the food is delicious! I had the carne asada crispy tacos as well as the potatoe crispy tacos. They are just like my moms! The aguas frescas are also wonderful! They are handeling social distancing perfectly and seem organized. They can get busy so order ahead. The also have doordash! read more

Cinco has consistantly good food. At my house when I have a group of hungry teenagers or even just mine and don't want to cook we get tacos by the dozen. Done! Everyone is happy. I have also had the shrimp burrito, it was large and very generous with the shrimp. Chili Relleno is on point too. The taco salad was just okay, but I am usually disappointed with taco salas from everywhere else too. The salsas are terrific. The location on Pacheco has mild, verde (green), and super hot. Oddly enough the store up on Pine skipped the verde all together which is a bummer because it is my husbands favorite. This past June they catered my sons graduation party. They were easy to deal with throughout ordering, then changing my order and in the end had it right and on time. The dining room isn't fancy, but we prefer to-go anyways. read more

Food is fine. I place an order. They tell me 30 min. I get there after 40 bcus these guy are always running behind. Food still isn't ready. I've been here for 10 minutes. There was no line when I got here. They prob don't make my food until I actually get here. I'd rather my food be less than hot but be ready when u told me. read more

Cost cutting...I order steak nachos instead of slices of meat they gave me a ground meat and it happened twice for a $12 nachos?

I got the crispy tacos and they were very good. I would definitely recommend this place.

The meat on their food is lightly seasoned. It would be good with salsa. IF they give it to you. They don't give you salsa even if you ask for it?? They just tell you to get your food and go. I find this very weird and frustrating because this would be my go to spot if this Mexican restaurant gave you salsa! Is salsa too much to ask for? I'm willing to pay for it but they just shoo you away. We get that you're fast and efficient. And that's wonderful! But you have to listen to your customers when they're trying to COMMUNICATE with you. A restaurant is more than just picking up your food. The younger kids behind the counter have better customer service instincts. Pls listen to them! read more

I actually really like this place. They make quick good food for a decent price. I have spent thousands here over the years including catering. They however started charging a extra fees that is not posted anywhere and they could not explain the fees when asked. They also could not provide a receipt when requested. The food I received was good so two stars but poor training and poor customer service dragged down the rating. I would still recommend this place in the future but pay cash cause they will tack of a large fee with no explanation or notification. They did try to reprint a receipt so I give them that. I boil this down to very poor training and poor communication on behalf of the business entity. read more

Stingy with their salsa and chips. They give you a less than half filled bag (6 chips) and only two small salsas. Food is ok. A bit overpriced. Both Cinco De Mayo restaurants in Martinez are this way. You're better off going to Los Gallo's in Pleasant Hill or Concord. Better prices, more for your money, great quality and a full salsa bar and all you can eat fresh chips. read more

They still have the best Guacamole in town. I can't get enough of it! I imagine a grandma on a stool just making a giant vat of it for my weekly consumption. It doesn't help that I can walk here every time I have a craving. The Carne Asada fiesta burrito has become my glutinous joy in life. I want to pet it and love and keep it as my precious. Or at least I cut it in half and then save the other half for breakfast the next day. All my kids are little Crunchy Chicken Taco lovers. I just order a tray of those for them. The Bean Dip is still addictive as ever. I am usually the only one that orders it and then eat it all myself because I have zero self esteem. I just love their food. read more

This place is great for what they are great for. The BCR are always a hit and a great buy especially when you order by the dozen. My teams always love it when I bring these out for snack. I also buy them for the house and freeze the ones we don't eat right away that way I always have them around. Their crunchy tacos are always a good item as well as the chilaquiles (i prefer them soupy), wet burritos, bean dip, tortas, enchiladas. You will be able to find something here for everyone. I dislike that they charge for chips and salsa to go but I feel like more and more places are doing this now. All in all a great buy for great food and especially great ordering by the dozen for larger families or groups. I love that you can even do this same day. I have often had unexpected guests that I can feed quickly ordering by the dozen and ready in an hour or less. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I ordered a simple bean cheese and rice burrito. This restaurant put pork in my burrito. I haven't eaten meat in SEVEN years. After 2 bites I was moving onto the third and noticed something wasn't right. I looked in the burrito and there was a TON of pork inside. I spent two hours throwing up because my body clearly isn't used to meat. Not only did this incident make me sick but I was absolutely crushed knowing I just ate meat. I get it, it's a Mexican restaurant but this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!! read more

My go-to for Mexican food. Portions, prices, and service are good. Salsa bar has 3 heat levels which are clearly marked. Al pastor is nice and flavorful, carnitas is too, asada is tender. Beans and rice are flavorful. I don't ever remember being disappointed here. Have had the burritos, tacos, enchiladas, rellanos, chiliquilles, all good. Posting pic of the taco salad. The chiliquilles soupy style is epic. The super burrito is truly super. I like the location on Pacheco Blvd better for some reason. Others have mentioned they taste no difference between the 2 locations. Uniformity is good. I just don't go to the one in the Nob Hill shopping center. read more

I was sharing a wet bcr burrito with my 3 year old niece. The sauce was cold the burrito was barely warm, and half way into the burrito my niece started chocking and spit her food out. There was a wood tooth pic in the burrito in the very middle, i am highly displeased with this experience. Every time I dine in or order through DoorDash my order is always wrong. There are 2 lines of defense in a restaurant for checking the orders... #1.) that the chef reads the order properly and #2.) that whomever is packing the order checks that the items packed match those on the order. To top it off, they charged me 99 cents extra today for a custom request to one item even though I was removing plenty of stuff off the other items, normally I wouldn't mind the extra fee but the fact that you can't get my order right makes that extra 99 cents feel like a slap in the face. Consistently yummy! I've visited once, and once had their wares DoorDash'd, and both times were delicious! Their wet burrito is KILLER, their sauce is just perfect, exactly what you expect. I just had the best carnitas nachos at Cinco De Mayo last week. They were so good that I can't wait to go back and get them again. They had everything on them: cheese, sour cream, avocado, jalapeño, beans, tomatoes, cilantro and the best extra crispy tortilla chips. I usually get a veggie burrito there cause it's really good too! But this time I thought I'd try something else and boy was I glad I did. And the service is always good there at the one on Pacheco. This location is by far the best one around! The food is always stellar and the crew is top notch :) Special thanks to Diego and Alvaro(August 11th shift)! My friend and I went in about ten minutes before closing and they accommodated us with no hesitation(I felt horrible for going in so close to closing but they're by far the best spot in town, so we rushed over from concord as fast as we could!) I am on a low carb diet for Diabetes and I appreciate when restaurants have choices that are lower in carbohydrates. I had an absolutely delicious burrito, filled with large shrimp, and grilled bell peppers and onions. No rice or beans. It is nice when they will make it the way you want it. read more

This place had a taco to remember years ago. (I will not speak on the other items on the menu.) It often still has that taco. Aceite y una tortilla, chicken or potato that can be very good and the rest. It is sad when it fails to live up to the mark. And yet the hope that it stays as good as it should be self keeps it a worthwhile spot to return to. The backroom can be nice to eat in. However, as with most eating experiences, it will depend on who else you are eating with or what happens around you. read more

This spot severely messed up. I paid $39 for my food and asked for a receipt (which she was hesitant to give me, but when I got home and checked my statement, I see it says $47. she added her own 20% tip (which was more than the SUGGESTED gratuity) AFTER I LEFT. THATS ILLEGAL. I cannot believe that there are thieves like that who steal money. There was a reason I did not tip, I did not feel they deserved it for the fact that they messed up my order and the lady serving me was rude and not wearing gloves or masks (no one in the restaurant was either) while handling my food. I wanted to like this restaurant but I ended up feeling sick that same night. I'm never coming back here again. Always get a receipt and check your statement because people will try to steal from you without you knowing. read more

What a great experience! A friend and I showed up not to long before closing. Worried that we weren't going to be able to get a to go order we hastily ran into the restaurant . Diego and Alvaro were very kind and even though they were putting away the food , they agreed to make us 6 tacos. They also gave us chips and salsa while we waited. When we got home the food was still hot. I had three Carne Asada tacos and they were absolutley delishes. I highly Recommend !!! read more

One of my favorite lunch spots at work. They never disappoint. I haven't had something that I didn't like there. Always great service and staff has been working non stop even through Covid. My husband likes their pork enchiladas plate with rice and beans. I enjoy the chicken flautas. read more

Enjoyed a nice meal with my aunt, uncle and cousin. Prices were good. They had a chip and salads bar. Salsa was fresh chips were missing something. I think they could of used more salt so I added more on mine. I got a taco salad with shredded chicken. Was very good. I think my favorite part was the guacamole in the bowl. The biggest downside was the fact that the taco salad shell was a little soggy not very crisp at all. Good portion size. I had plenty to eat over all good meal. 3 stars due to the face the chips were bland and soggy taco salad bowl which was a bit of disappointment. If I'm in the area I would try it again. I'm just here to express my disappointment in Cinco de Mayo getting my Christmas tamales order WRONG. I asked for a dozen tamales, 6 chicken and 6 cheese. What do I get? 6 chicken, 3 cheese and 3 sweet. I really dislike sweet tamales as do my parents and brother who flew up from L.A. to spend Christmas with me. I'm upset that not only did I not get what I paid for, but that I had to throw out the sweet ones because no one would eat them. Two of us are vegetarians and couldn't eat the chicken ones, so we were definitely shorted. Of course it's Christmas day and they're closed. Can't people do ANYTHING right? By the way, maybe you should start marking the tamales instead of making it a guessing game on what kind it is? Then maybe you wouldn't have messed up my order. So not cool. read more

The best crunchy tacos I've had since Mexicali Rose. Ordered the 3 item combo $10.95 great price. Brought home leftovers too. Very good chips and homemade salsas. The best crispy taco in northern Cali goes to Cinco De Mayo. This is the only place that makes real crispy tacos. I hate going to places where they offer the crispy taco and it is a pre made taco shell that tastes like cardboard. The crispy taos here taste like a real tortilla chip and are made on site. I like the pollo and the tacos de papas. Good size tacos, excellent crunch, low on the grease factor. I have also had burritos, chimichangas, and the sopes, all are good (sope a little better than good). The salsa bar is kept in good condition and free chips and salsa while you wait. Highly recommended. They have a few locations in Martinez and Walnut Creek, the consistency is high. I have had the tacos at three different places and have yet to be dissapointed. read more

I love chicken mole, so naturally I order it at almost every Mexican joint. I went to this restaurant excited about ordering mole. Once it arrived I was shocked to not see any thing that resembled mole sauce (dark brown color). I went to the front and asked and the waitress told me hope that's the only mole they have. I asked if it had any chocolate, she said no. I wonder what mole really is?? Huge disappointment! read more

Cinco De Mehyo. I don't get it. The beef tastes like pot roast and the pork is fatty and dry. The only things worth note were; the mole sauce = excellent and the crispy chicken taco = good. Always quick and delicious. I've tried many items on the menu and never been disappointed. Especially love their Chiles Verdes.

Their buritos are just flavorful especially the shrimp. One of the first Mexican restaurants I have ever loved and still do.
