Chips and salsa.
Patty W.

It was taco Tuesday and we figured we hit this place up for dinner while we staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. Even though it was busy, we were able to get a table after walking in. It took a bit for our waitress to come and take our order. We split the chips and salsa for the appetizer. I got three chicken tacos along with a side of rice. The chicken tacos were bland and had no flavor to them at all. It didn't come with the rice at first and I think the waitress forgot about it. I asked her about it and it didn't come out until about 15 minutes later. I was going to tell her not to worry about it since I didn't think it was going to take that long to get a side of it. The service wasn't met according to expectations. I understand it was busy and things can be overlooked by mistake. The margarita was better than the food and I was surprised by it. Maybe the $1 taco deal on Tuesday can be intriguing, but I would consider somewhere else since the restaurant was a miss for us.

Went on a Friday night and it was slammed pack, but that did not impact the service or the taste in the food. Most Mexican places are going bland these days, but here?!.... They are not afraid of seasoning their food. The ambiance is your typical Mexican restaurant, loud music in the back, laughs and cheers all around, drinks everywhere, cute little decor, clean. Overall it was a good vibe here. They are located in plaza style store front. Decent parking.

Earring

I used to love cinco and i grew up eating here but recently i was eating my beans and I bit into a man's earring Now we go to taco express and Mr burrito in Kannapolis they have authentic tortillas and no mans earrings in our food.

My family loves this place. My spouse and I went last night and it was amazing. The servers are great and the food is always terrific. I love the bright colors and the ambiance of the whole place. You ca. also eat outside.

Service was terrible. Took 10 minutes for anyone to seat me. 10 minutes to take my order. 30 minutes for a bowl of soup. I tried coming here for lunch a week prior but I had to leave cause I stood around in the lobby for over 10 minutes without being seated. Food was terrible. Ordered sopa de pollo. Bland soup. Had one small piece of chicken and half an avocado. Complete waste of money. Will never eat here again and I'm warning others not to waste their money here. You're likely to have a better experience at Taco Bell.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Charlotte area. They are super friendly and well priced for the quality of food you get. I had the fajita texanas and my dining partner had the Sopa de pollo. Both were super flavorful, the soup being authentically spicy. This is a hidden gem down the road from Great Wolf Lodge. Don't waist your money eating at the resort and go here instead!

There was a hair in my soft taco. Did not finish my meal and was only comped for one taco , as opposed to being comped for whole meal.

Delicious food. Interesting vegetarian options. Good cheese dip. Not "great" service but it's worth it.

After sifting through like 20 options, just picked here and I'm so happy she did! BirriTaco is a cute and fun spot. The decor is of skulls, flower walls, and blackboards where you can write your name or a note. It's a It has a small parking lot in the back and there's also some street parking. We walked in just before 3pm on Saturday and it was fairly empty. A few other tables did come in after us but it was still pretty slow (or maybe I'm just used to the business of NYC restaurants). We were greeted and seated by Angel, who was also our waiter. He was quiet and reserved but very attentive. He checked on us frequently to make sure we had all we needed. Drinks: they have sooo many good options to choose from it was hard! We decided to go with the margarita flights that come with 4 flavors of your choice and there's a lot to choose from! We tried 6 different flavors (see pics) and all of them were REALLY good! I think the guava might've been my favorite but it was a tough choice. Food: they give u chips and salsa on the house. The chips are a little different; it's 4 big circular chips, they don't exactly taste like regular chips but I liked it. My friend had the Caribbean bowl and asked if she could get it with Al pastor instead of the meat options offered and they accommodated her request. She enjoyed her bowl but did say maybe she shouldn't have gotten the al pastor after all lol she thought the pork would've been shredded instead. I went for the tacos. I was so excited that they had chicken birria tacos cuz everywhere usually just sells it with beef which I don't eat. I also had an Al pastor taco. The Al pastor was good but just a bit dry, it was just missing some sauce but the flavors were good. The chicken birria tacos were amazing! The broth was the perfect cherry on top. The chicken was seasoned well and they had just the perfect amount of cheese. They were sooo good I had to order another one and my friend decided to order one of the beef birria tacos as well. While I don't eat beef it looked soo good! My friend loved it and it had an amazing cheese pull (see video). If I lived out here this would def be one of my favorite places! I will definitely go back whenever I come visit. While $5.25 is a bit much for 1 taco, man those birria tacos were worth every bit of it!

Started our catch up session with a couple of brews and their salsa, I'll call it a flight - medium, a tomatillo verde, and a spicier one - delightful. Their small cheese dip was also great - next time I think I'll try the Spinach Cheese dip but needed a baseline to taste first. I got the chicken and chorizo which was also great, and the chicken fajitas came out sizzling hot! Our server was such a delight, we let her know it was the middle for us to meet and couldn't believe we had both driven 45+ min but was grateful we did and even made recommendations for when we come back. We enjoyed their outdoor seating and had a great time with good food.

One of their salsas has some heat which gave it an enjoyable tingle for my taste buds. Dinner options are broad. What a great variety of flavors you n one plate, again with a little bit of heat. I didn't partake in the drink menu this visit but they offered traditional Mexican soft drinks and of course margaritas.
