The staff at Red Bird Books recommended this coffee shop, and the choice was a winner. Turns out,…read morethey have a cross-marketing promotion once a month. No wonder they recommened one another. Ha ha! I had a small Americano and my mother had a small iced lemonade. Both were uniquely delicious! Appears that this shop is also pet friendly as there were four dogs on leashes waiting patiently near their owners. The ambiance was also very homey and clean. There was a nice, quiet, cozy feel to the place. Please check out the coffee shop.

This is a great bakery / coffee house in downtown Victoria. It's located in a vintage and…read morerepurposed building which gives the place a lot of character. I did not see a parking lot; there may be some behind the building, but there was plenty of street parking when I went. As you enter you'll see multiple seating areas where you can relax, enjoy your order or sit and chat with friends. There is an area with children's toys and books for those who have small children with them. I went because it was the first bakery I could find in Victoria that has scones, and I was on a mission to bring scones home for my wife. They have several flavors of scones: pumpkin and maple, cinnamon apple, lemon blueberry, cranberry orange, chocolate, ham and cheese, (I could be forgetting some). They have other assorted goodies I paid less attention to. I got the ham and cheese scone for my breakfast for the road and bought some other flavors to take home. I loved the savory ham and cheese scone. If the sweet ones are made as well (and they sure look to be) my wife will be very pleased. I also got a coffee which was freshly ground before preparing. I wish they were closer or I'd go there more often. I lived it and think you will too.

I was told by locals you have not been to Victoria, TX if you haven't stopped by Cimarron Express…read moreto pick up snacks. According to locals they have amazing fresher baked kolaches that sell out quickly. When entering the store you immediate see there is so many baked goods from cakes, pies, cheese cakes, all sorts of snacks like cookies, crackers, rice crispy, and so so soooo soooo much more! Everything is in clear containers ready to grab pay and go. There were so many variety of cookies in there. The cheese cakes and cakes they offer in the display refrig looked divine! Unfortunately because we came there around 3:30pm there was no kolaches to try but there was plenty of sweets and snacks to get. Homemade trail mixes included! I got the fire crackers, thumbprint cookies, and rice crispy. The crackers are spicy but it is super delicous and honestly addicting to eat! The season is very unique! The rice crispy seems a little stale and not as crispy as I like. The thumbprint cookies are favorite of our family. I tried one for the first time and must say the texture is really unique for a cookie. I liked it but the frost is a bit sugary for my taste. Would I come back? Yes! Hopefully during a time when they have kolaches so I can see if what the locals recommendation is true about these amazing kolaches in this hidden gem store.
