Honestly, one of my favorite cigar places we have been to here in Denver. This little place has lots of comfy places to sit, a good humidor and even a barbar in the back. Very friendly, laid back atmosphere and the cigar prices seemed reasonable. It seems like a popular neighboorhood place. There was a steady stream of people in and out, and lots of people just sitting around chatting and watching football. Very inviting place. My only complaint, is I alway want a drink with my cigar and they only have pop & water. Plus parking is street only (no lot), which wasn't a big deal to me, but something you should know before you go. So one star off, but really in all other ways it is a five star spot. Cigars on 6th is absolutely one of the best cigar bars in Denver. Dan, the owner is friendly and knowledgeable about his product. The rest of his staff is equally knowledgeable and helpful. The decor is comfortable and cozy, with big soft leather chairs and a comfy couch. The humidor is stocked with a solid selection of premium cigars. Prices range from 5 - 30 dollars. Dan doesn't waste time with the crappy cigars even his cheaper brands are decent quality. There are private lockers available but most are already taken. They have plenty of accessories for your cigar smoking needs. Cigars on 6th is open from around 9 or 10 am to at least 8 pm Mon. through Sat. and until 6 pm on Sun. There are always good people there to talk to and conversations run from politics to sport to every mans favorite subject. Dan has regular customers and walk ins and everyone has a pleasant time while they're there. When you leave, you usually leave happy and looking forward to your next visit. Came here to pick up a solo cigar as a birthday present. I have never smoked a cigar or cigarette in my life and was completely desperate for advice and recommendations on quality cigars. The gentleman working was extremely helpful. He was patient and his product knowledge was fantastic and helped me find a great gift. They carry many quality brands from Cohiba, Monte, Monte Cristo, Romeo and Julieta, ETC. The lounge has a classy intimate feel. Me and a friend came here just last weekend and idk how people like it so much. The assortment is great, but the guy who helped us gave us the most smart*** answer when we asked if they had any Puerto Rican cigars. A simple yes or no would have sufficed. In addition, he kept us in eyesight the whole time we were there and it was really uncomfortable. I generally don't mind if Cigar stores are dark and chill like this one but the vibe this one gave was not good. I don't think I'll go back just because of the mood that the store gave me. I may not fit the profile of an old, or middle aged man, but just because I'm younger doesn't mean you should treat us differently. read more

Let me start by saying that I am not an aficionado. That said, I like Cigars on 6th. I have been going here almost exclusively because of the location. The guy who owns it (or at least works there a lot) is super nice. While his recommendations haven't always been my fancy, he seems quite knowledgeable. Cigars on 6th is probably one of the best cigar bars I've ever been to. I just can't believe it's taken me so long to make it over here. On a Saturday afternoon they were pretty full with what was obviously the regular crowd (I could almost hear the theme song to Cheers every time the door opened). There was also a lot of foot traffic with people coming in and out pretty much constantly. Loved the ambience and decoration in here. Told the wife she was lucky we don't live in walking distance or I might be spending a little more on cigars than I already do. Plus I'd have a place to get my hair cut! They had a good selection of cigars and I didn't think the prices were outrageous. Also a good selection of accessories (lighters, cutters, humidors, etc). The only negative is that they don't serve alcohol, but if they did I would probably never leave. read more

My first time there. The place was big & cozy with plenty of comfortable chairs. A game was on the t.v. and there were quite a few guys sitting in the big comfy chairs smoking and cheering on their team. This store had a great cigar collection with some pipes, lighters and other accessories. I hastily chose a sampler pack of four cigars because the guy that worked there, although helpful, seemed to rush me out of the humidor (this must be where most the product gets stolen). I set my cigars aside on the counter and told him I was going to look around. I left him my credit card and started looking around for a new lighter and maybe a cutter. He approached me in the store with my cigars in a bag and my receipt. Maybe it was a misunderstanding, or maybe he was trying to get back to the game and the guys. One of the best cigars spots around period. I live in Seattle and make every effort to stop in when visiting family in the area. Great selection of cigars and supplies, nice couches to relax and smoke on and while watching TV. While I visited last, Tony (I believe that was his name)was in the back giving straight-edge haircuts. I smoke a decent amount of cigars especially when I am fly fishing. Therefore I usually will swing by Cigars on Sixth and then by Trouts on my way out of town as they are both quite close to my house. However, when entering this place for a first timer can be a little over-whelming as it does have a feeling of club members only -type of feel. However, if you just talk to guy behind counter or some of the guys you can tell that they are just normal relaxed guys watching the game or playing cards like you are trying to do. The prices are so-so and a little expensive as ciagrs normally are and there is a decent selection. A fun little fact is the barber in the back that my boy used to get his haircut. I don't know if they still offer this but it is a quality cut and decently cheap from what he told me. Let's be honest with one another - I know nothing about cigars with the emphasis on nothing. So you may of course take this review with a large grain of salt for that reason. I had researched cigars for my stepdad's Christmas gift and had settled on purchasing said researched cigars at Cigars on 6th. I visited the store last Wednesday night after work. Parking was a breeze with an open spot right outside. As I walked into the store I realized two things: 1) There were people playing cards and smoking cigars in the store (very cool) and 2) those people were all men - I was literally the only woman in the store. The young man behind the counter accompanied me to the delicious smelling humidor to select cigars for my stepdad. I had pretty much settled on Arturo Fuentes which Cigars on 6th has a large stock of. The aforementioned young man assisted me in selecting a set dollar amount worth of cigars. He didn't push me into any type of sales. I'll be back if I need to purchase cigars in the future. read more

My family and I stayed in Denver this past October for six days. I stopped in several area cigar shops during our vacation but Cigars of 6th was my favorite. Being close to where we stayed, it was the shop I entered on our first day in town and two more visits before returning to OH. In fact, I spent several hours there the afternoon before our flight home. Dan, the owner, was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable, as was his staff. Good selection of cigars, including some that I hadn't seen back home for awhile. If you want to look and see where the world's most important decisions are made, you needn't look to legislative houses, corporate boardrooms, or military command centers. You can see them being made at Cigars on 6th. Cigars on 6th is a genuine gentlemen's club (which is not to say that ladies are not welcome). Here you can enjoy a relaxing smoke, watch the fight, and get an old fashioned straight shave. The straight shave ($15) is a real treat. The barber is not in the business of whisking customers in and out; you can expect your shave to last 20-30 minutes. He'll probably have some Frank Sinatra playing, and you can be sure that the Chairman of the Board was a straight shave fellow himself. Get a shave here and try to leave without feeling spectacularly relaxed, yet rejuvenated. There is also a shave & haircut combo special for $25 that is a solid deal. I think that last paragraph read a bit too much like an ad. This place pretty much speaks for itself. Come down at any time and there'll be folks smoking, discussing, and diagnosing all the world's problems. It's essentially a den that is open to the public. read more

Now, it's easy to have a great cigar shop: just have great cigars stocked. But Gary went above and beyond: he made us dinner reservations (we were treated like VIPs when we got to the restaurant), and when I had to wait at the counter to buy my cigar, he offered it to me for free for my troubles. Can't honestly give them a good review as I don't know what's in the shop. We went to the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival this year and talked to an employee working their booth. We told him that we'd like to stop by the shop but that we wanted to get an early start in the morning since we are from eastern New Mexico. He said, "We'll open up at 10! See you guys there!" So tonight I had to get out of the house so I went to my friendly neighborhood cigar store where I purchase everything cigar related. In the last year I've purchased countless cigars, two ashtrays, a humidor and an Akar lighter. Tonight I brought a cigar with me because I've been looking forward to smoking it and it was raining. After I purchase a bottle of water and a humiliating pack I settle in to enjoy my cigar. 20 min I'm approached and told that I didn't purchase this cigar here I'd have to pay $5 to sit here and smoke it. We had a FANTASTIC and unexpected experience. My partner Kelley had purchased a torch lighter for me as a gift from Cigars on 6th. It was a beautiful little 3 flame torch with a punch on the bottom. At some point after she and I had used it for a while it just stopped working. It wouldn't hold butane and it wouldn't light. She took it back to Cigars on 6th and they swapped it out for another model even though she didn't have a receipt. These guys know how to do business and I'll be a customer there for life. read more

I've been to Cigars on 6th a handful of times over the years to stock up on cigars. Overall, they have a nice selection and have friendly employees. The business was bought by Smoker Friendly this year, and they have since closed the barbershop in the back and expanded to another walk in humidor. The prices are fair, more expensive than if you buy online. They do have accessories and such as well, including humidors for sale. I have not stayed to smoke here, but I usually see at least a handful of guys chatting it up smoking a stogie when I'm there shopping. I think this is one of the better area cigar shops in town. read more

I have never stepped foot in this place. This review is about a phone call. I called to ask what travel humidors they had in stock. I asked a few specific questions like sizes prices and brands. They guy on the phone gave me the info and said "yep now you have enough info to go buy them online" I hung up. Excuse me? i was asking so i may research online to find what i might like best but always buy local mr telephone man. Im talking about a $28 travel humidor. I've come here several times before it switched owners. My last visit was my first after the owners had changed. The staff is still the same. The employee with glasses and shaggy hair was SO HELPFUL! I have walked by this place dozens if not hundreds of times and there are a bunch of guys hanging out enjoying cigars and good conversation. I always find myself drawn towards this store/gathering place it seems so inviting, maybe I could hang out too? Unfortunately for me and Cigars on 6th, it could never be as I don't smoke. But my Dad did. He just died and I wanted to get him something really special to go with him. Gin and tonics don't travel too well to the afterlife so I popped in to Cigars on 6th. Someone was just about to pay for a bunch of cigars and I was behind him in line. "How can I help you?" I obviously looked a little out of place "Um, I wanted to get, ahhh...my Dad just died and he loved cigars. So I wanted to get him a cigar for the casket" My voice was wavering. "Just a minute(to the guy in front of me), let me help her. What kind of cigar did he like? Mild ones?" ...I don't know, big ones. And man could they stink up a room with their giant plumes of smoke. He always had one after work with his Tanquerey and Tonics. It was a ritual. First he would mix his drink. Then he would sit down with his cigar. Unwrap the cellophane. Take the band off(as children we would take great delight in getting to wear the cigar bands as rings) Clip the end juuuust right. And light it taking long intermittent puffs until the embers started to crackle and glow deep in to the tip of the cigar. I don't think you are supposed to inhale when you smoke them but he did. Deep introspective drags right down until the very end. Sometimes he would tell us about his day, and the patients he saw or his latest construction project. Sometimes he would watch one of his favorite British shows, "Are you being Served" or "Masterpiece Theater". Or sometimes he would sit in silence. " He liked big stinky ones." " Here is a good one, good balance, good price. Do you want me to clip it?" Why I thought would we want to clip it, he obviously isn't going to smoke it? Strangely I found myself say 'Uh yeah." He clipped the end. And tenderly placed it in a plastic bag. Put some matches in the bag, just like my Dad would have liked. And sealed the bag. "This one's on me." Thanks. Dan? Is that your name.
