About: Red Phone Booth, founded in Atlanta in 2020 by…read moreStephen de Haan in partnership with actor and whiskey and cigar enthusiast Michael Cudlitz , opened its first Texas location in The Colony, Dallas, in 2023, celebrating three years since its inception. The venue is designed to resemble a Prohibition-era speakeasy, with an entrance accessible through a rotary phone inside a red telephone booth (which actually works!). Our tour was led by Jamie, who shared his extensive knowledge as he guided us through the Prohibition Era alongside our concierge, Landon. The speakeasy features stunning floors made of 120-year-old Italian wood, beautifully decorated with art, books, and a selection of premium entertainment and spirits. Patrons can request "prescriptions," which are 2oz alcoholic shots inspired by the owner's grandfather, who was a pharmacist. Cocktails and friendly service was provided by Emma and Kyle, their services were a nod to Bob Ruede, RPB's renowned Intoxicologist, along with other award-winning bartenders recognized for their excellence in service and hospitality. Eric, the Cigar Attendant, is knowledgeable about how to properly enjoy an exceptional cigar experience. The Mafia Room is an exclusive space perfect for guys' and girls' nights, intimate events, corporate gatherings, and celebrations. While Red Phone Booth offers exclusive membership tiers with premium perks, you don't need to be a member to enjoy the Prohibition experience. It was really good though regardless. The filet was extremely tender and the peppercorn sauce that accompanied it with the asparagus was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and cordial. It starts when you come in the door: I was greeted by Reagan who explained their selection and pointed out several things that I haven't seen anywhere else. What surprised me was options; it wasn't SKUs on top of SKUs... but you can tell the ownership spent serious time selecting what goes on the shelf. I was told everything I saw is something someone who works there has smoked (which is impressive.) They even have a section of rarer cigars that my tax bracket wouldn't allow me to purchase (but loved to see them on the shelf!) Industrial has ample space for general patrons; the lounge is a decent size and they have a lovely bar that has enough options to make you happy. Nolan (the bartender) came to my seat... Walked me thru their menu... And helped me picked something I've never heard of (Ironroot.) Trust me when I tell you that doesn't happen often. I'm not knocking places that don't go the extra mile, I'm saying that when a place does, I have to give them their due respect. They have MULTIPLE areas for members to smoke, and here's what made me really happy: Reagan introduced me to one of the owners (Andrew) and he showed me around the entire space. The members lounge is legit; leather chairs, great ventilation and multiple TVs. By the way - general patrons have a similar setup, but the members lounge is more intimate. The service truly sets this place apart from the majority of lounges I've visited in the past twenty years. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the Dallas area.
