Follow-Up Comments as of August 28, 2013: As I stated in my original review on August 21, 2013, Cigar Loft owner Steve and his clerk Rick were repeatedly unhelpful, disrespectful and downright dishonest to me when I requested they replace my defective Jet Line butane lighter. After MONTHS of my being polite and patient they demonstrated nothing but untrue, hollow assurances. HOWEVER...I contacted the Jet Line US distributor directly at www.slimlinelighter.com. Customer service rep Katie listened, agreed that the lighter's "lifetime warranty" was a standard they honored and,in **less than 1 week**, she shipped an exact replacement of my Jet Line "Dante" free of charge. Jet Line and www.slimlinelighters.com get 5 STARS.....Cigar Loft retains a 1 star rating for extremely poor customer service. In fact, they've made no attempt to respond to my comments on Yelp. My bottom line advice: Buy your lighter and accessories at www.amazon.com. The Dante Jet Line with integrated cigar punch in a high quality leather case is on Amazon for $19 vs. $35.95 at Cigar Loft. With the savings you can buy a Cohiba:-) Original Review, August 21, 2013: I used to have the highest regard for this cigar shop and lounge. What changed my mind was the blatant lack of honesty from owner Steve and his clerk Rick. I purchased a high quality Jet Line butane lighter from Cigar Loft after a lenthy search for a lighter that was reliable, elegant and less than $75. The Jet Line was all that plus it featured an integrated cigar punch and came with a leather case...for about $30. It also came with a manufacturer's "lifetime warranty". The lighter failed after about 1 year and I contacted owner Steve. I had retained the receipt and original box. Steve asked me to return the defective lighter to his store and promised a prompt repair or replacement. I did just that. No repair, but assurances of a prompt replacement. REPEATED ASSSURANCES. Fast forward *2.5 MONTHS* and 8 calls to Steve and Rick and their repeated promises of a replacement of my lighter "within 2 weeks". NOTHING. I stopped by today to inquire about the replacement status and spoke with Rick. After his repeated "I don't know when we'll get your lighter in"...he became obnoxiously defensive and downright rude. "Not my fault" replaced "I don't know". I am now contacting Jet Line directly. This shop sells great cigars, at premium prices, but don't expect them to back-up lighter warranties. The *greater issue* has been their dishonest and dismissive treatment to me as a (previously) long-time customer. It feels like they're happy to take your money, but there's the issue of basic integrity that they apparently feel is unimportant. That makes me sad...and angry. Have been frequenting this place since May of 2012. Steve, Will, Gary and Rick continue to offer great service and sticks - often coming up with the hard-to-find or limited production cigars that many others cannot seem to stock regularly. Their knowledge and recommendations are right on the money. If you can tell them what tastes you appreciate and desire, they can steer you in the right direction. The state of California make this an extremely difficult business to be in, I'm certain, but these guys are holding it together for us cigar lovers. read more

He walked me thru my entire experience and gave me recommendations and choices while educating me and staying within my price range. Im a newly minted cigar enthusiast. The Cigar Loft is where I prefer to enjoy a stogie. They have a wide variety of cigars and also sell different lighters and cutters if you need it. Gary and the staff are friendly, knowledgable and cool. Big flat screen TVs and comfortable seating allows you to take your just-bought cigar and enjoy in peace while watching news or the ballgame. Dont worry about the smoke as the entire spot is well ventilated. The rest of the boys and overall its really a great place to smoke and hangout for a bit. With a very knowledgeable staff and ownership that couldn't be more friendly to 1st time consumers & regulars. 'Da Loft' has comfortable leather chairs and other high back chairs, an outside patio, Flat Screen TV's (3). Enjoyable and friendly regulars who are always engaging in interesting conversation; Sports, Solving of World Issue with a smile and general conversation that makes you feel welcome. One can stop in for a stick & smoke it, while doing some work on your Laptop or just catching a Yankee or NY Giant game or any other team & sport of ones choice, CNN, watch your financial world climb or crash, and have a friendly, enjoyable smoke in one of the better cigar parlors in the East Bay. What a great place to smoke at! On my way home from work I decided to grab a bite to eat and smelled that wonderful aroma of cedar and cigars. I decided to walk in and take a look, being the online shopper for cigars I was impressed by what I saw at Cigar Loft. Will , I think he is the owner was great and pleasant. He took the time to give me a tour of the place. The lounge has 2 plasmas, hardwood floors, leather seats and the prices are as low as I have ever seen in a cigar shop and they are building out the back patio. I took the time to hear others that were smoking in there that Cigar Loft has the best prices in town and there are other cigar shops in Walnut Creek. I will have to check out the other shops to compare. I highly recommend you go to Cigar Loft and the best part is, that you if you buy cigars there you can smoke them in the lounge for free while talking to other stogie aficionados. I spend my money smart and this is a place with great pricing and friendly people to smoke with. read more
