Checked in on us a few times throughout to ensure all was well. Made great conversation, and shared some laughs. Jared, our server, superb at his job! Food was prepared perfectly. . .cudos to the chef and kitchen staff! We had the tomahawk steak special which came with asparagus, loaded mash potatoes, and salad choice, Cesar or Wedge. We each had the wedge and they were of perfect portion with the best tasting blue cheese crumbles and dressing. Steak was ridiculously yummy! We like different temps. and it was prepared perfectly to each of our preference. The loaded potatoes, Oh My Gah! Crazy-good! We also added an 8oz. Lobster tail to share. Not only was the portion size adequate for a side for two, the prep. and flavor was exceptional! If that all wasn't enough; dessert was to die for! This one may have also been a special. Cielo, which is located on the top (27th floor) of Casino Morango in Cabazon has a gorgeous view of the desert and delicious food! The service was also outstanding: I highly recommend Jeanette as your waitress - she is outstanding! We started with the calamari and Shishito pepper appetizer which was fantastic - I really liked the dipping sauce. Then we got filets: The steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare. We shared a side of the Mexican corn which was zesty and super tasty. I'd recommend getting the trio of sauces although the peppercorn sauce is more sweet than zesty. This place is decent. I bought the tomahawk ribeye and my mom ordered the filet. My steak was cooked perfectly and was really good, but was expecting a tomahawk like the picture in the elevator and the steak I got was like a miniature version of that. They also need to make their lobster Mac with real macaroni noodles and thick cheesy sauce. My mom did not enjoy her steak.. she likes her steak moo'ing, she ordered rare and it came out medium rare and was a little dry. I tasted it. It was a little dry. Other than that we really enjoyed our night. The service was perfect. They weren't hovering but were attentive and very nice. We came here for our 50th wedding anniversary with my mom. Overall the food was close to 5 stars. The best being the bread, amazing oysters Rockefeller , rack of lamb, creamed spinach, and cheesecake. We would order these again. The steak was good but we prefer Ruth Chris with the sizzling butter plate. We would skip the lemon drop and twice cooked potato. The reason for the four stars is because of their ordering policy. Be prepared to order your entire meal the minute you sit down or you will not even get one slice of bread with your cocktails! This is the second restaurant where we have recently run into this annoying policy! Bar Ceil in Palm Springs told us the same thing! We were so agitated when we first sat down that it almost ruined our whole experience! Mom needs some bread while she drinks her cocktail or she gets drunk and we like to study the menu while we drink our cocktail. It's not possible here. read more

Came here to eat before we saw a show at the casino. It was a nice meal, the decor is classy and the giant windows were lovely. We didn't have a reservation so they sat us at the bar. The tables were empty for a solid hour and I feel like they could have offered a table and requested we be done at a certain time, because honestly the dining room was E-M-P-T-Y for over an hour. The food here is very expensive. Eating a meal that costs that much money at a bar was not a thoroughly enjoyable experience, so make a reservation. Also, the portion on the scallops my friend got was pretty sad, four scallops for nearly $40 dollar. The markup was high for being a casino restaurant. The drinks were pricey and I had two and didn't even catch a buzz (I'm a light weight). So the drinks were pretty sad as well. I had the chicken dish which was very good, and they had a few gluten free options. The portion of the chicken was plenty and I gave some to my friend to supplement her tiny scallop dinner. The place was OK, not great, not bad. I think they take themselves a bit seriously and the bar needs to pour actual alcohol for a $20 cocktail, I don't want to pay $20 for juice which is what I got. I'd say skip it there's better meals for the price point. read more

The views and the ambiance of this roof top restaurant are incredible! We came here recently to celebrate a friend's graduation. I definitely would try something new next time I come back. Selection: While the menu had many mouth watering signatures, keep in mind that this is a steakhouse. We started off with Steak Tartare, which was fun to eat. I wish the quail egg wasn't hard boiled though, it needed the yolk to add some creaminess. We chose the Kansas City Strip Steak and added smothered mushrooms and onions to enhance it. I'm not sure if that was the best choice because I wasn't a huge fan of the flavors. Also I might go with a filet mignon instead because I really wanted a softer bite. We got lobster Mac as a side with truffle and honestly it was least favorite. It was not very creamy and really sweet almost like sweet potatoes. The broccoli had great flavor, I love anything with tossed in garlic. It was just a bit chewy. Finally, the Pan-seared Scottish Salmon was my absolute favorite. The enoki mushrooms were super tender and the sauce that was on the coconut ginger sauce that was on the soba noodles was absolutely delightful. The salmon was skin on, something I prefer because I love the skin and it really complimented the ginger sauce that was on it. The ambiance was great. I couldn't say the same with the food. We had the caesar salad, calamari and shimp appetizer and for the entree, scallops with cayliflower puree with black garlic and sauteed mushrooms. We also got the cioppino. Let me describe the experience... the caesar salad, although nice presented, was bland. The dressing did not have enough depth and seasoning. The calamari were a tad overcooked and not enough lemon was served in the dish. The scallops were all seared differently. 1 had a great crust, the other 2 were so so. I understood why they buried them in a ton of baby greens: to hide the poor execution. On top of that, they were too salty. We couldn't win. The cioppino, was very monotonous in flavor; boring to say the least. Sure it had crabs and all other nice seafood, but, all in all, salt was the dominant flavor. Like the sauce was made and was held for a long time to reduce and become very salty. No hint of wine and not enough acidity to break the relentless saltiness. Ended up eating just a few spoonful. Cielo was an amazing experience. You start off by taking an elevator up to the 26th or 26th floor. As soon as you exit the elevator you notice a beautiful entrance with a bottle of Louis XIII. As you enter the restaurant you notice the floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking views. Once seated, I noticed the giant windows on both sides of the restaurant so you can take in views from both sides. The waiter and his assistant were very prompt and professional. Started off the water and bread service. Not long after we were seated the piano player began playing with slowed down renditions of popular songs. I then ordered the surf and turf and my wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. The Filet Mignon was huge and soft as butter. One of the best filets I've had. The only thing I didn't care for was the wine reduction sauce and name served with the steak. They were both too sweet for my liking and the filet would have been better with a cognac sauce, butter and herb or chimichurri to pair with. My wife enjoyed her sea bass, but again the sauce was too sweet. When our food arrived many items were lukewarm warm. If it weren't for the sauces and lukewarm food they definitely would have received 5 stars. The service and ambience were so excellent. Everything is a la carte. We went to dinner for my 55th birthday and had a wonderful dinner! We started with crab cake that was very good all meat no fillers, enough for two to share. I had sea bass and it was a good size portion, prepared very well and tasty. My husband had 11oz filet Oscar style. The meat was so tender and perfectly cooked, the crab legs were also good the sauce was delicious. Food was excellent all around! I was so dissatisfied with my last visit on 6/7/25 that it may very well be my last. Me and my boyfriend had a reservation after spending the day at the pool and spa. We had showered and gotten ready for our dinner reservation at the spa so naturally we were both in casual clothing. I had a blouse, leggings, and sandals, and my boyfriend had on black shorts, sandals and a nice tshirt. Upon being seated to our table, the worker who was greeting folks upon arrival, stopped my boyfriend and told him "this will be the first and last time you'll wear that type of attire here"..... I'm sorry WHAT?! He not only was rude but embarrassed my boyfriend as others who were sitting at the bar heard this. For context, there were ALSO others who had similar outfits on. It was 92 degrees, yet it seemed only problematic that my boyfriend was dressed this way. When we got to our table I was a bit furious. The dinner went downhill from there. Our server didn't bring us a bread basket like he did the other tables, he also kept skipping our table after the food was served. My food ended up giving me food poisoning which was the catalyst for my bad experience. I had some seafood which I strongly believe was either not fresh or not cooked correctly. Overall a very poor experience at this restaurant. Management and staff need to seriously take a course in customer service. read more

OMG best way to end your birthday weekend! After two days of gambling it was nice to relax listen to a pianist and eat great food. We were brought out fresh bread white and brown with some sort of mix in there. It was good We ordered shrimp appetizers with mashed potatoes ( I added salt and black pepper to taste) the appetizers came with a small salad very well prepared. We had dinner at Cielo this weekend while staying at Morongo Casino. We had dined here once before, 2 years ago when celebrating my husband's birthday, and had such an amazing meal, that this year we decided to come back and celebrate his birthday here again. We are not gamblers at all, and have no interest in casinos, but our previous meal and the relaxing and romantic ambiance here was the only reason we came back to Morongo after debating between here and another hotel in the desert. Our server was great. We ordered wine, but he came back to tell us they didn't have the one we wanted. We then ordered another wine, and they also didn't have it. Our server was very helpful, giving us a sample of a couple of different wines until we decided on one. We started with a wedge salad, Maple and Honey Baked Brie for an appetizer - sweet, different, but pretty good, and French Onion Soup - very filling, very rich, and very cheesy. We also ordered the bone marrow which had absolutely no flavor at all. For our side we had mushrooms, and for our entrees, I had the New York Strip Steak - dry and overcooked, and my husband ordered the Kansas City Strip Steak because he had never tried one before. It was inedible. He had to spit it out because he could not chew it. We told the manager about this and he said that this cut of meat was "usually like that". Then why have it on the menu? To be fair, my husband's steak was removed from our bill, which we appreciated, but our (expensive) meal was such a disappointment that we decided not to return to Morongo. read more

We were here on Saturday night for my Dad's 80th birthday. We were a large group (party of 12). First the positive. The restaurant is beautiful, perched on the 27th floor of the resort with stunning mountain views out of two sides of the restaurant. The decor of the restaurant also looks very nice, fitting for the upscale steakhouse this is meant to be. Service was okay. There were times when a lot of time went by without anyone checking on us. We had a pretty early seating (5:30PM), and the restaurant was not full, maybe they are understaffed. I will give the food overall a 3.5/5. Seafood Tower - 3.5/5: Good mixture of shellfish (oysters, lobster, snow crab claws, king crab legs, shrimp). A bit pricey ($360 includes a bottle of a California chardonnay from the Santa Barbara region) for what you get. French Onion Soup - 4/5: Very good, if you like rich soups like I do. Steak - 2/5: My wife, daughter and I split 2 steaks, a Kansas City strip and a bone-in Ribeye. Biggest issue with both is that the meat is pretty bland for a Steakhouse of this level. Just not enough meat flavor to either cut. We did ask for salt/seasoning but wish the meats themselves were better. The BAD: I saw that this restaurant had received the Wine Spectator Grand Award, which I know is not that easy to receive. However... We had a total of 6 bottles of wine with dinner (2 chardonnays that came with the 2 seafood towers, 2 bottles of zinfandel and 2 bottles of cabernet sauvignon). For the cabernet, I ordered the 2016 Heitz (Napa Valley). On the wine list, the price was $128 per bottle (pretty reasonable for this bottle). When the server brought it out, he went out of his way to ask if we wanted this bottle for $250 per bottle. What??? Exact same bottle, mind you, as what was listed on the menu (2016 Napa). When I pointed out the price difference, he said maybe the wine list was "outdated" and he would ask the manager. When the manager came, he said the list was outdated but if we wanted, we could have for $135/bottle. I said yes, but really, you really want to treat customers this way for an extra $7 per bottle? Really unprofessional of the restaurant to try to sell a bottle listed at $128 for $250. Needless to say, overall experience of the meal was great given we were there for a celebration, but I was really disappointed by Cielo itself. read more

First of all for some reason they wouldn't let us sit downstairs like the hostess actually argued with me. Then they put us on the most horrible table upstairs. We have to put the full order in so we have time to prepare everything and neither the kitchen or customer feels rushed. So we order and order a 2nd round of drinks for some reason our appetizers soup and salad came out all at once then we sat for almost 2 hrs before our entrees came. Our waters were never refilled we had to ask the busser to find our waiter so we could order another drink finally the food came the sides were mehhhh. Steak toppings overdone. King crab so salty lobster over cooked!! And for 92$ uggh. The whole meal took 3 hrs and 15 min. The waiter was rude No Happy Birthday or anything but of this is from the chef for you. Then to top it all off upon leaving went to ladies room and it was literally a bloody mess. We threw up that 700$ meal. Manager apologized and gave his card so they could take care of us. Thing is I love it b4 COVID everyone was so nice it was bright and very enjoyable. After this experience we won't be back ever. If you are going to charge 5 star prices Food should match those prices and be on point. There were 3 hosts and a manager seating people. No one could check the restroom??? Cooked to a perfect temp and color the pinky center was just absolutely gorgeous. The buttery and tender texture was made to perfection. We enjoyed a very nice brunch with Chris Carter of KLOS Breakfast with the Beatles. Had an awesome time with great music, great trivia with awesome prizes and a brunch that was very good. With a Strawberry Fields Forever Salad, omelet bar, bagel station, eggs, bacon, and some very cool desserts how can you miss? The view itself from the 27th floor was breathtaking. For those who want a romantic date night set your reservations for sunset it will literally take your breath away. KLOS is planning to come back to Morongo every month, worth the trip. read more
