This orchard is huge and the store was filled with all sorts of jams, jellies, salsas, apples, pastries and the line to the cafe was almost out the door (for the fried pies, I presume). I did get some salsa and came home with more than a dozen fresh picked apples of a few different varieties. You are able to snap a picture of the map upon getting your tickets so you can decide which apple varieties you want to pick. Beautiful flower field where you can also pick colorful flowers. They have a store with a great selection apple made goodies, apple pies, apple jam, apple bread and more. This is a local owned and it is another branch of Farmer John's produce on due west road. Friendly people who will attend to what you need. We loved buying those fresh vegetables and fruits off this stand. The quality of the fruits that we have bought were really good. After a 2hr ride, I arrived at BJ Reece Orchards. The traffic was fine the whole way there up until the last half mile. Oh my gosh! Everyone was on their way to BJ Reece Orchards and I spent 23 minutes at the stop sign. LoL! After finally getting past the stop sign, I arrived at. BJ Reece Orchards and pulled into the parking lot. Though the orchard was loaded, I was able to quickly find parking. I pulled in, parked, and headed to the cider house to meet up with my friends. Once we got together, it was time to head on over to the entrance. We walked over, got to the entrance and waited to get to the register. I was enjoying the sights of smiling faces, amply families and apples as far as the eye could see. Getting to the cashier, I paid my $13 entrance fee and paid for the small bag so I could pick my apples and was on my way. Getting through the main gate, I got my wrist bang on and waited for the wagon to pull up. The wait for the wagon was all of maybe 7 minutes. No lie. We waited no more than seven minutes and the wagon was pulling up. We got on, took a seat, and enjoyed the view throughout the orchard as we proceeded to the drop off location near lane 61. Once off the wagon, I was all over the place. It was apples upon apples upon apples and I was ready to pickkkkkkkkkkkkkk my apples. It was so much fun. The orchard is huge. The space is very clean and inviting. The orchard is very charming and best of all, the rows aren't tight together. We picked apples, took pictures, laughed, walked, and repeated. This was everything it needed to be a for a Saturday of friends celebrating a friend's birthday. Once our bags were full, we headed back to the wagon pickup area, got on and headed back to the main area. From the main area we stopped by the car to drop our apples off then headed to the store. Now the store was an entirely different experience. Thought it's only across the street, it's a totally different world. I went in there and lost my mind. I'm talking, Homemade Everything and I wanted it all. I ended up with: Fresh Popcorn, Fried Apple Pie, Fried Cherry Pie, Fried Sweet Potato Pie, Oatmeal Cookies, and Salt & Vinegar Fried Peanuts. Now, though the store is huge, the line wraps the entire store. The good thing is that the staff has an efficient process to move the line swiftly. I thought I would be in line forever, but I wasn't. The line moved smoothly. The staff was pleasant and everything I purchased was fresh. $23.00 later, I was out the door and on my way back to the car. Thank you, BJ Reece Orchards for an amazing day of fresh apples, amazing fun, and awesome memories.

First, the location is absolutely beautiful with their little shop full of natural remedies, I could spend all day admiring all the products they make from scratch. Second, the team there was SO incredibly sweet and accommodating, and just good-hearted folks. You can tell they take so much pride in what they do. Third, the food they prepared for us was DELICIOUS. All made with locally sourced ingredients and just prepared with love, attention, and care. Everything came in the cutest picnic basket. We pre-ordered the chicken salad sandwiches, cheese & meat board and some scones. Everything was absolutely delightful. Probably the best chicken salad, lemonade, and blueberry scone I've ever had in my life. Honest to god. simple but just done well! It was rainy so they let us set up on the little raised wood platform and it worked out great. We enjoyed the sounds of nature and took a little nap after. They even sent me home with a bag of vegetables for free because they didn't think they'd be put to use before going bad. I made homemade pickles out of the cucumbers they gave me, so good! If you are in town and looking for things to do, you must set up a picnic. They just started them and are seriously a hidden gem. Wish them all the success.

Cue the newly opened Deep Roots with it's small town feel, hand-drawn maps and plenitude of apples. To pick, I believe it was $4 per person and if you fill your basket (a very large basket) then that was about $18. You could also just straight up buy apples if you don't feel like picking. We went the first week of October and yet, 3 weeks later, we are still eating apples. That is how many apples that is! The best apples from our basket had to be either the Jonagolds or the Golden Delicious. We also enjoyed the apple butter, the decor and, of course, the hospitality. If you're looking for a less commercialized apple picking experience, you've found it here in this cute little cider house. Room for Improvement: I think it would be a good idea to add a few markers up and down the apple tree rows so that you don't lose track of what's what and have to walk back down the hill to the front of the orchard. For the apple cider donuts, I was expecting something more cake-like. Would've also liked to see mulled cider for purchase rather than the plain cider that we bought.
