Out of business. Saw this business for sale on the MLS. Did not last long with the new owners.

Top orchard in the area in my opinion. This popular orchard can be packed on the weekends with…read moretroves of cars and people enjoying everything they have to offer. Love the variety of apples when in season from sweet to tart to crispy to tangy! BJ Reeces also has a variety of fresh honey and jams/preserves of all different flavors. Love their dehydrated apple chips as they are so addictive. From novelty candies to fried pies and smoothies and apple cider and wines ....whats more you can ask for all in one spot. Their nostalgic barn feeling decor that's spacious and clean and organize is easy to get around. Offering tours of the orchard and hay rides and seasonal u-pick options makes BJ Reece Orchard a nice family friendly weekend destination!

We got their Apple cider, cinnamon apple donut, and apple fritter. The Apple cider and cinnamon apple donut were really good! But their Apple fritter was disappointing. I think if it was warmed it would have been better. There is also no indoor seating (which usually is probably not a problem). But since it was rainy and cold we couldn't sit outside, and there were zero seats inside, so we went back to our car to eat. Everyone was very nice and I would go back, but I would also have better expectations

Y'all, u-pick was closed at the "big box" orchard, as I'm calling it, and we were in dire need of…read moresome apple picking to complete our cabin-in-the-mountains dream itinerary. Cue the newly opened Deep Roots with it's small town feel, hand-drawn maps and plenitude of apples. To pick, I believe it was $4 per person and if you fill your basket (a very large basket) then that was about $18. You could also just straight up buy apples if you don't feel like picking. We went the first week of October and yet, 3 weeks later, we are still eating apples. That is how many apples that is! The best apples from our basket had to be either the Jonagolds or the Golden Delicious. We also enjoyed the apple butter, the decor and, of course, the hospitality. If you're looking for a less commercialized apple picking experience, you've found it here in this cute little cider house. Room for Improvement: I think it would be a good idea to add a few markers up and down the apple tree rows so that you don't lose track of what's what and have to walk back down the hill to the front of the orchard. For the apple cider donuts, I was expecting something more cake-like. Would've also liked to see mulled cider for purchase rather than the plain cider that we bought.

Any-who- we made a reservation for a picnic (must be planned 2 days in advance, but they accommodated 1 day for us), and it was a HIGHLIGHT of our little getaway. First, the location is absolutely beautiful with their little shop full of natural remedies, I could spend all day admiring all the products they make from scratch. Second, the team there was SO incredibly sweet and accommodating, and just good-hearted folks. You can tell they take so much pride in what they do. Third, the food they prepared for us was DELICIOUS. All made with locally sourced ingredients and just prepared with love, attention, and care. Everything came in the cutest picnic basket. We pre-ordered the chicken salad sandwiches, cheese & meat board and some scones. Everything was absolutely delightful. Probably the best chicken salad, lemonade, and blueberry scone I've ever had in my life. Honest to god. simple but just done well! It was rainy so they let us set up on the little raised wood platform and it worked out great. We enjoyed the sounds of nature and took a little nap after. They even sent me home with a bag of vegetables for free because they didn't think they'd be put to use before going bad. I made homemade pickles out of the cucumbers they gave me, so good! If you are in town and looking for things to do, you must set up a picnic. They just started them and are seriously a hidden gem. Wish them all the success.
