I was part
of a party of 24, I'd heard from other people that it wasn't very good but went
with an open mind. We were greeted as we
came in and given a menu straight away without being seated, which I thought a
bit odd, however as not all the party had arrived yet I asked for a glass of
dry white wine at the bar, I was informed by the owner they don't sell
much wine and all that was available was medium of which I was invited to
taste, it was more medium sweet, similar to a dessert wine, I then spotted a bottle
of Pinot Grigio which doesn't have the best reputation in the wine world but it is typically dry so I can't
understand why I wasn't offered this in the first place. We had the
early bird menu which is a starter, main and glass of wine for £10.95, the
choices are very limited and considering they are advertised as being Italian weren't
very Italian at all, I opted for the Greek Meze which consisted of tzatziki,
which tasted shop bought, olives and a chilli dip served with warm pitta bread,
very uninspiring but edible. Again the
mains choice was also very limited so I went for the creamy chicken pasta
without the chicken, it was really nice, al dente pasta with a delicious
creamy, slightly chilli tomato sauce, the portions size was enormous and I
barely finished half, one of our party ordered the same as me but there'd been
a mix up with the order and we had all finished our meal by the time she got
her pasta which was disappointing. The live
keyboard player made for an enjoyable atmosphere and happily took requests. I wouldn't recommend
for couples but it's passable for a large party. read more
