We'd booked at 7:30 on Friday night but was a tad late as we couldn't find the restaurant! When we arrived 2 of my mates were already there and one of them said it used to be the Horsforth Social Club, now I remember it was that for years!
The restaurant had a relaxed ambience and was ver busy.
The staff were very welcoming and our 2 friends were already having a cocktail called woo woo, which they proclaimed were delicious but expensive at £5.40. I tried a bit of theirs and was yummy.
The guy, who I assume was the manager asked us if we wanted to stay sitting and he'd get us a drink or go straight to our table. We opted straight to the table as we were starving. At our table, I did notice they were very packed together so they'd certainly tried to put as many tables in as possible but when I sat down, I was still able to breathe!!!
A waitress came and took our orders after our drinks arrived. She was friendly and smiley, dressed in an outfit that I assume is Greek(?)
2 of us had calamari, I had sea bass feta flat for main, chicken soulvaka and 2 opted for a sharing vegetarian starter and the Agora Vegetarian Meze a main, also to share.
We didn't have to wait long for our food, both starters and main. Plus we all agreed it was delicious.
My main came with rice and a cold salad which I wasn't sure to start with but I didn't dwell and it went down a treat.
I could've eaten a dessert but was disappointed with the choice. To be fair, the waitress said it out to us and as the place was busy all I heard was cheesecake and chocolate fudge cake. From that point I wasn't interested as I'm not keen on either. My mates ordered a cheesecake to share and they said it was one of the nicest cheesecakes they'd had.
I thought prices for the food were reasonable as it was delicious. read more
