First off, the location. Nope, no under the table deals were made, neither has this amazing example of Italian business success story pulled strings we are unaware of. It is simply a good dose of luck and some amazing astral coincidence. Located in what I consider one of the most amazing little corners of my beloved Milan (Vicolo dei Lavandai), this sweets' paradise immerges you in a tiny cupcake paradise. Upon entering you wonder if you stepped into your childhood's dollhouse and immediately look for little heart shaped teacups. The theme is pretty in pink. The location is super cozy and the MASTER, MISTER, SUPREME AMAZEBALLS is the cupcake. I personally believe muffins to be MUCH better, however these cupcakes are indeed the WOW factor. Everything made from scratch in the back by the owner and served with a smile and overwhelmingly sweet passion. Attemptive to allergies and ethical needs, you will surely find the perfect match between your personal needs and your peculiar taste: vegan? Check. No yeast? Check. Celiac? Check. Do you feel cupcakes aren't your cup of tea? Just ask for your own personalized cheesecake, allow a few days and: BOOYAKA!!!! So, next time you are CRAVING for a sweets fix, head on to the Naviglio Grande from the Darsena... walk but a few steps and, you shall find the Vicolo. Head on to the very end and and you step into your little cupcake paradise corner!

We were able to get a table right away even though it was pretty crowded on a Saturday morning. I wanted to look at the pastries and order there, but the whole process was a little chatoic. I told the woman behind the counter that I was sitting down at a table, and she told me she would hand it to my waiter. After waiting a bit, our waiter had to come back and ask what I ordered, and it seemed like he wasn't able to find it. Eventually he did come back with the correct order, and he was very apologetic about it. We haven't had the best service in Italy, but our server here was amazing! He was so kind and made the experience that much better. As for the pastries, I got the croissant with vanilla cream and the raspberry maritozzo. I wasn't expecting to like the maritozzo because I don't usually like cream puffs, but this one was so different from the ones I've had in the US! The cream was so light and fluffy, and the brioche bread was the perfect accompaniment. The raspberry jam added a nice tart flavor to it as well. Overall, this place gets a little crowded sometimes, but it's a great place to stop by when you're shopping!
