Ahh where to begin. I was at a Houston location two years ago and was impressed with the fajitas, service, etc. So having spent some time in the area on business, was long overdue for a visit here. Service: Not much positive to say here. No food was dropped on me, so that's good. Did she check on me: once mid meal. I sat with an empty cup waiting for a refill. Finally was able to flag her down. I ordered a side sauce for $2, which I assumed would come out to go along with the chips, not my fajitas. Food: For $20, you get pretty decent steak fajitas, better than Abuelos or some other national chains. The setup (cheese, sour cream, lettuce,etc) is pretty big, but the guac didn't look that fresh. Also the $2 side sauce was congealed and didn't look appealing. Overall though it was a pretty decent meal for the price. I would come back here again, but wish the service would improve a notch. In my opinion, Tex Mex is its own genre of food, and nowhere does it better than Chuy's. Every bite of their creamy jalapeno dip gets me nostalgic for the the years I spent living in Texas. On our most recent visit to the West Chester location, we brought our in-laws, who had never experienced the Chuy's magic before! They arrived about 10 minutes before we did on what ended up being a very busy Friday night! After my husband and I arrived, we waited about 20 minutes before our waiter came over to check on the table again. Thankfully after that, he was quick to get us our drinks, a refill of chips and dips, and our eventual entrees. We totally understand how non-stop it can be during a weekend dinner rush - and he was very friendly during each interaction after the initial delay. At this point, I've probably tried everything on the menu, but I have to say the Fajitas always live up to the hype. My father-in-law and I shared the Combo Fajitas for Two, which ended up being enough for both us, plus leftovers! The Steak Burrito topped with Queso is also a favorite of mine - thankfully that's what my husband ordered on this visit, so I got to steal a bite (or four). Now, if you've never had the Tres Leches Cake at Chuy's - you're absolutely missing out. This dessert is so delicious, it's what I requested for my birthday last year. We often order a slice to-go, since we're usually stuffed from their enormous portion sizes! They shared new margaritas for the season and we enjoyed chips and salsas, sauces , nachos and they specially made us vegetarian enchiladas which were delicious! After being seated and waiting about 10 minutes, a member of our party went upfront to ask if anyone was going to Service. Finally, a waiter came over he apologized. Then we placed our order. We ordered queso with our chips and guacamole. The queso was cold had to be sent back to the kitchen. Then we waited, almost 30 minutes for the food to be prepared, and the server dropped one of the plates on the way to the table. So the vegetarian enchilada that was remade came out to the table in less than 5 minutes and they must've been hasty in preparing it because the inside of it wasn't cooked. I really had to think long and hard about how to write this review. I am a big fan of the Chuy's chain. I have actually been to the original in Austin. I have been to a great Yelp event at the one in Dayton, and had multiple great experiences in Kenwood. I decided to try this location recently for take out to take advantage of a reward I needed to use up, as it was on my way home. Because I had this reward I needed to call in my order and pay upon arrival, rather than do it online. I had a very difficult time getting through on the phone. I called twice to no answer, then finally a nice man picked up who worked in the kitchen. As soon as the take out lady was available he handed me over. She was very nice but sounded stressed. I placed my order easily. When I arrived for pickup, even though they are doing curbside with nicely marked spots, I had to go inside to use my certificate. I walked inside and I just couldn't believe it. From the waiting area I could see into the bar where the bartender had no mask on, not even around her neck just no mask. There was no separation at the bar. In the dining room, the tables were back to back with no partitions and it was PACKED. I cringed just even having to stand inside here. It was about 15mins before anyone even came out to wait on me. It was very obvious that all the staff here was very stressed, which is not cool. I feel for them. When I was finally waited on the lady was very nice, but again obviously feeling stressed. I'm not going to lie, due to the very lax covid precautions I really thought twice about eating my food as I was concerned about the safety of it. I ordered the Chuy-changa which comes with a side of rice and beans, as well as jalapeno ranch. If you order this in the restaurant it comes with lettuce, tomatoes, salsa etc, which were not included here. It all tasted very good, but I had to add my own at home, frustrating. They included a huge bag of chips and a small container of salsa, complimentary, which was nice. I also got a Blackberry margarita, which tasted just as good to go. For desert I got the Tres Leches which was delicious. So you can see here my rating is solely for the taste of the food. Chuys is great, but Id say eat at this location at your own risk. I am shocked and saddened at this point in the pandemic that a place that is a CHAIN is so blatantly ignoring safety protocols! Also, I hate to see staff anywhere so stressed and seemingly unhappy. Stopped at Chuy's in West Chester after doing some shopping. The food was not amazing, but as my daughter said, "It was food." On the positive side, the restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly. Our waiter was super prompt and efficient. Chips were good - they were light and flaky, and there were two salsas: traditional red sauce and a creamy one. Both were good and our chip basket was refilled quickly-- same with our fountain drinks. I had the enchilada and taco combo. Daughter had the enchiladas with tomatillo sauce. Both were served with rice and beans. Both dishes were very basic, and a little dry. They have a lot of margaritas on the menu. The decor is really cool! Great place to get Tex mex especially for a family dinner night. Portion sizes were pretty generous for everything we ordered, which is always lovely. The food is better than you would expect for Tex mex, they even make their own tortillas. I just unwrapped them and ate the guts. The beans and rice were good . I did not clear the plate .The taco salad was tasty but usually I get them in a bowl shell not in a salad form. I've been going for years since the Kenwood location opened and this one has met and exceeded my expectations! Chuy's invited yelp back for an special tasting of the green Chile hatch special season event that they'll be bringing back next year! The pepper sauces made had good flavor and mild-medium heat, I highly recommend the burrito. Like I said, chuy's may be more of the American Mexican some do not prefer, but when I'm looking for a casual place with great margaritas, excellent ELVIS themed decorations, quick service, and good food... this is the place! From the decor, to the music, obviously the food and of course the staff. This wasn't that kind of place. However, it was good. Being the type of chain, kitschy restaurant it is, it's fairly expensive. Three of us got tacos and the other got a taco salad and it cost us $60+ tip. Kinda steep for what it is. Was in the bathroom washing my hands and an employee who appeared to be a Hispanic came out of the bathroom stall and walked right past me without washing his hands.
