Came here when visiting a friend and went for their vegan/vegetarian options and got the veggie enchilada with cheese sauce and a glass of sweet tea. It was so sweet that you could taste the sugar grains and was gritty. The food was amazing the tea was just a little much.. Which is probably why me and another person who ate the same meal and drink was in the bathroom 2 stalls over as I vomitted profusely. Would probably eat there again but NEVER with their sweet tea. A mixed plate. The Steak Burrito is my go-to. When done right, the sheer amount of fajita steak and green sauce is overwhelmingly good. Also, the salsa is the best salsa in the Tulsa game. I am obsessed with this place. I could eat here every day...unfortunately. I love a good Mexican restaurant, and this place is that. The noise is not terribly loud, but it is just the right level so we can bring our one year old and eat in peace knowing that her joyful screams will not bother people at the next table. The wait staff is always wonderful...even when our daughter mentioned above slung my husband's plate off the table, breaking it into several pieces. Thank you Chuy's for being the closest to real Tex Mex as you can get in this state. I recently moved here from Austin and have been disappointed with the "authentic" tex mex places around Tulsa. My only complaint is your Texas Martini is not as strong as your sister restaurants in Austin/Round Rock. Boom Boom sauce was amazing. I could drink a cup of it. Good job, Chuy's! The decor is fun and the creamy jalapeño sauce and freshly made chips were excellent, as was the margarita. Food portions are very generous. It is Tex Mex style and very spicy. Our waiter was not very knowledgeable about the different available sauces. Tell me about the sauce, not what you like! He also had such bad breath that it literally turned our stomach. It was Sunday night so the daily special was pork tacos; they were good. the tex-mex enchilada was good. Garden salad was good BUT had some wilted pieces and pieces with lettuce rust as well. I ate at Chuy's yesterday for the FIRST TIME. I ordered a chicken quesadilla in which I got some over cooked meat and the "Quesadilla" looked like a couple mini tacos. The bread was not soft I basically ate a taco. My friend and I both have medical diet restrictions and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, including checking with us several times about ingredients. I wanted to try Chuy's it had been there for years, I ordered through GrubHub. I ordered the Steak Burrito and the Tres Leches cake. The Burrito was large but the steak was very chewy and had no flavor. I found a lot of fat and gristle in the steak pieces. I had a hard time trying to chew the steak. The sauce on the burrito was straight up Hot! It really had no flavor but Hot. The charro beans were ok but were also Hot! I tried to pull out the steak to eat separately but there was no flavor and it was too over cooked and chewy, I guess it lived up to it's restaurants name. I had a hard time finding any cheese inside. I only was able to eat five to six bites of the meat or burrito. The only saving grace was the Tres Leches cake it was delicious. There were no utensils sent with my to go order, kind of important. Tulsa has so many good Mexican or Tex Mex restaurants on almost every corner. Don't waste your time or money here. This is an excellent place to go. If you have not experienced it yet in Texas, now that the Tulsa location is open, you should try it. I had the Baja Tacos and got the combo of fish and shrimp. I would say I prefer the shrimp to the fish. I think this place is always good, friendly, and the staff goes the extra mile to keep the customer happy. I will be here again soon. read more

I was so looking forward to going to Chuy's. I had eaten at the one in Austin and it was so great. Service was awesome there as well. I went today and they told us there would be a 30 minute wait. As we sat waiting for our buzzer to go off, people kept coming in and getting seated right away. Finally after 40 minutes and another couple were seated, I asked the lady why we had not been seated and new people walking through the door kept getting seated. She had no answer for me. She had started a new page of names and was already halfway down on the page with names and ours wasn't even on that current list. The manager came up and told us the people that were seated before were with large parties. Yet when we finally got seated, we saw all the people at their own table's and at the bar. LIE. Then, we ordered our food and waited...waited....waited. People who sat down after us got their food...we waited.....Finally when we got our food, I got someone elses order or the waitress totally screwed up. Not sure. We had been there now over 1 hour and 15 minutes and I never got to eat my food as I was on a lunch hour. It was packed to go and it will end up in the trash. Left over mexican food for dinner is not appealling. My meal was comped by management but I feel both our meals should have been on the house due to such poor service. I will try it again because we may have been the ones who "fell through the crack" but I will say.......VERY DISAPPOINTED. It will be very hard for me to recommend this place to anyone. Got dragged here for lunch by Jenn & Jess, two maniacs I swore I'd never dine with again after they got me 86'd from Celebrity Club for what could nicely be described as "a misunderstanding." I love the orig Chuy's in Austin and the one in downtown Dallas, but frankly ev other one I've tried has been somewhere between Bad and Blah. I'm glad to state that on this visit (Jenn & Jess's outrageous misbehavior notwithstanding) Chuy's delivered great food and outstanding service. I had chicken chile rellenos. I'm a terrible chile rellenos snob and few places make decent ones, but they were terrific at Chuy's. Not food related: our visit happened during the Great Tulsa Storm of July 2016, and Chuy's lost power before our food was ready. Superwaiter Louis absolutely came through like a champ under very difficult circumstances. Jenn and Jess made complete nuisances of themselves but Louis just rolled with the punches (and those two were throwin the punches, believe me). Five minutes to close means you are still open. Of course cooks shut down things towards close, but you can't deny people service because serving them would inconvenience your staff. That is not how you run a restaurant. The cooks have to leave a skeleton kitchen ready to go, and the front of house should take the order. We were prepared to order the easiest dishes, and all to go, but the waiter turned us away at the door (even though they were still open) because he didn't want to upset the kitchen. When my family and I want Mexican, Chuy's is always the first option on the list! On today's visit, I got my favorite: The baja tacos (shrimp and fish combo), with refried beans and the green chile rice, accompanied with a nice signature frozen margarita. I'm going to say this is a 3.5. Chuy's has a fun atmosphere. The food is OK. We arrived and had a 30 minute wait so we went to the bar area. There, you can order drinks and appetizers, and have chips and salsa while you wait. I liked the salsa, it tasted light and fresh, and wasn't too spicy. The chips are also very thin, which I like, so they dissolve in your mouth. Maybe I ate too many chips. I ordered the deluxe quesadillas which were very good. They came in the shape of four tacos with guac, salsa, sour cream, etc on the side. My husband had a sub-par chili relleno. I liked my food, he did not. We'd go again in a group, but wouldn't choose to go here on our own. That being said, they do have a really good weekday happy hour from 4-7...check out their specials. read more

The staff is friendly, the facility is nice enough, but the menu just didn't have anything that looked good for me to eat. Nothing stood out as I must try this. The restaurant is closed and the worst part is that now there's NOTHING OPEN and Im stuck with no food, no way to get any and I last ate 12 hours ago. We like Chuy's in Norman OK, but not at this location! We walked into the empty front with another customers was waiting and no front help, and they dont even know why no one in the front neither ! Now let talk about the foods at the table ... The tortilla were cold , so we had to ask for the new tortillas , and they were still dry and didn't taste right neither! I ordered soft tacos and of course my flours tortillas was hard and cold again . At the same time, I asked to replace charro beans for Chile rice , i still had beans on my plate with Mexican rice! My oldest son ordered Taco & Enchilada , the sauce went on top of the Enchilada was burn and tasted interesting! My youngest ordered Crispy Taco and we could see lettuce than meats ! Don't expect anything authentic, but it fits the bill for chain Tex-Mex food. The service was adequate. We enjoy craft beer. I was taken aback after the server told me they do not have beer on tap. Craft beer is not the norm in this area. I realize that, but no draught beer? The chips and salsa were fine. Nothing extraordinary. The chips were crispy. The salsa had a "green" taste to it. I couldn't quite place the flavor. The portions were quite large and heavy. Apparently, that's what folks expect when it comes to "Mexican" food. We had plenty of leftovers even without eating most of the rice and beans that were on the platters. I prefer the atmosphere of Chuy's more than the food they offer. The restaurant has a fun vibe whether you are enjoying a night out on a date or an afternoon with the family. I am a huge fan of the free nacho bar they offer during the week, it gives you a great excuse to grab a drink with a girlfriend to catch up.
