We came on a weekday night, which seemed busy ... we waited to be seated a few mins (10mins). Once seated the server introduced herself and brought chips and salsa. Those chips seemed smothered in oil so we asked for new ones with no oil. Quickly that was done. We ordered so delicious house margaritas and 3 wonderful delicious plates from the menu. To start off, ordered the "Chuy's Brew" ($10) - a frozen lime margarita topped with a Coronita inside. Less margarita than expected, but overall satisfying drink, especially with the complimentary chips and salsa. For my main course, ordered the Combo Fajitas ($18) and Guacamole ($8) to share. Fajitas are served with several warm flour tortillas alongside strips of chicken and steak, grilled onions, peppers, and the like. Chuy's is fast become my favorite Tex-Mex chain restaurant the restaurant's theme matches up with what most expect from a great Tex-Mex restaurant - colorful decor, free unlimited chips and salsa, a variety of margarita options, and large portions. There was a time when devouring Mexican food was considered an inexpensive dining experience, that's not really the case anymore especially if you're pounding those delicious alcoholic beverages while pigging out on the free chips. I don't think there's a culture or business model that pairs food and alcohol better than a authentic Tex-Mex restaurant, this restaurant chain seems to have what some would describe as a cult following when it comes to some of their signature drinks and dishes. The super thin warmed tortilla chips makes any of the amazing salsas' taste that much better, for a starter add some queso blanco and a cold Dos Equis and you may not need an entrée. I love a lots of things here but the fajitas are so good, I prefer the chicken and steak combination with all the sides rolled in a in-house made tortilla. I usually grab a seat at the bar where the service is usually instantaneous and the alcohol always seems to flow a tad free'er. This was the perfect meal. The chips kept coming nonstop and the jalapeño ranch is the reason to come in alone. Creamy Jalapeño Sauce!!! They put that in front of me, with a basket of chips, and I could not stop eating them. You MUST Try it! Now that I've told you about that, let me tell you about the rest... Came here for lunch, Sunday afternoon, about 1pm. We called to see if we could make a reservation but it's a walk-in place. We walked in and saw there were plenty of tables available and the bar had some seats available too. We chose bar seating - it's usually faster plus it had TVs and it was NFL Finals Day. We sat and immediately were greeted with menus and chips and salsa. Also with the salsa was that Creamy Jalapeño sauce. As you can imagine, we went straight to the salsa. At first I thought the other sauce was a Ranch dressing but being curious I tried it and WOW! It definitely has some ranch in it, some sour cream, and a nice kick with the jalapeños. Best of all, this sauce is free, and can be refilled as much as you want, same with the chips. They also have a half page with their other homemade sauces that you can ask for free of charge. I was pairing this with my classic margarita - big and strong - when my Quesadilla Deluxe came out. Cut in 4 pieces, filled with chicken, onions, peppers, and cheese. Side of Guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. I loved all the sides, and enjoyed them but on my second one, I just added that Jalapeño sauce to it! I'm telling you it just goes with everything. The Soutwestern Enchilada was really good too. BIG portion, with Mexican rice and refried beans, and pico de gallo also on the plate. Add their Green Chile sauce and you have a true New Mexico dish in front of you. Our barteneder/ server was very friendly, and quick. She brought us extra sauces and some others to try, and made conversation with us, even telling us about the South Florida locations they had, closer to us. I'm leaving this place bookmarked! Awful. We were the only two sitting at the bar for lunch and the bartender barely interacted with us at all to check in. Although the food tasted good we both wound up sick. It took us 40mins to get home from this location and I had to vomit the entire time. I was sick the rest of the day. I posted my experience on social media and I immediately started receiving messages about how often this happens to people at this location. This is unfortunate because I used to really like this chain. I planned on having a birthday bash and a business gathering here soon. That will definitely not be happening. You have to start with the fun atmosphere - I love how every room is so creatively decorated with bright and vibrant colors. The service is usually good - rare for a restaurant on I-Drive! Food is absolutely delicious - no matter what you get on the menu! I personally prefer the chicken fajitas and my dining companion usually gets the chicken quesadilla. Portions are a good size and prices are affordable for a chain restaurant in the area. Flavors are AWESOME on everything on the menu and you can even get items with hatch green chilis for that authentic flavor. I also really like coming during happy hour when they have a complementary nacho bar in the back of a "car" in the bar area. We live in Wisconsin, but always dine at Chuy's once or twice when visiting Disney World. This place has the best tortilla chips I've ever had anywhere, they're light, thin, and served hot at your table with an excellent salsa. Being a big fan of Elvis, I had to try the Elvis special platter which has a little bit of everything on it, all of which were delicious. On our second visit I had the chicken and steak fajitas and with both of these dishes I say bring your appetite because you get a massive amount of food. Can never go wrong with their chimichanga, it's always my go-to with the green sauce . Other ppl in my party ordered the Elvis memorial plate and chicken fajitas, both which looked very good and had hefty amounts. Service was fine, some orders were screwed up but quickly replaced and given new things. Main complaint is the chips were extra salty. But other than that, always a solid place to eat. read more

I was so hungry I realized fully at the end I didn't have any cheese which would have made it easier to eat. The boom green sauce was interesting and good, and the refried beans were tasty. The tortillas were nice as well. If I wasn't so hungry I would have returned the dish but it was also at close time, none of which excuses the fact that they were out of rice (?). At a Mexican place? When you think of a Mexican restaurant, you usually expect an average run of the mill place making tacos and enchiladas, but this place really steps it up! First off the jalapeno cream sauce is kinda amazing. It's not even as spicy as you would think. Its cool and refreshing and I probably ate half the chip basket alone with that sauce. The chips are really thin and light so you can just keep eating them. Resist the urge though, get to your main course, you won't be disappointed! I got the ChuyChanga. Crispy outside and really nice chicken filling. It was packed with tender shredded chicken, cheese, peppers and onions and just had an overall great flavor. After eating 2 baskets of chips I probably didn't need to eat the whole thing, but it was so good! The portions for the meals are also LARGE! So come hungry or expect to take home leftovers. I was just hungry, so no left overs for me! All the others in my party also really enjoyed their meals; chicken fajitas that come with all the fixens, taco salad which is the size of your head, and a chicken enchilada smothered in a sauce of your choosing. I have to say this restaurant is cold - this has been true across all the Chuy's locations I've visited, so I recommend bringing a jacket! The salsa is spicy, but it's not quite enough to fully warm you up. Our service was quick, our waitress super friendly and on top of everything. Drink and chip refills were prompt. I got a frozen strawberry margarita which I always love getting. Not really strong in alcohol but fantastic in flavor. Our food was as hot and fresh as it always is. This time I got the green hatch chile sauce which was spicier than most of the things I've ordered in the past, but still very good! The food is inexpensive, the portions are great and we've never had to wait long for either being seated or our meal. You couldn't go wrong with whatever you chose, but my favorite dish is the Big As Yo' Face Burrito- specifically bean and cheese and topped with the Boom Boom Sauce. The bar is called the chihuahua bar and if you bring a photo of your dog you get a free appetizer! There are photos all over the place of different puppies. Our family moved to The Clearwater, FL area from TX and put by us there is seriously no good tex-mex restaurants. So it's always a treat to stop by Chuys when driving through Orlando. The food is always good and they have a great selection of salsas. I ordered a steak chimichanga with boom boom sauce and my husband ordered enchiladas. Only reason I am giving them 4 stars vs 5 is because the service was eh. We stopped by on a Friday around lunch time, the restaurant was almost empty, but it took forever to be sat and waited on. Unfortunately they closed the Chuy's locations in Miami during the pandemic so now I can only get this delicious food when I travel to Orlando. As always, they didn't disappoint. It is on the spicy side so getting it with a side of sour cream both reduces the heat and adds a yummy creaminess to each bite. The shredded chicken wasn't bad but maybe a bit boring. The rice was pretty bland but no worse than many other Mexican food places. The refried beans were rich and creamy though. They brought multiple refills of our chips and salsa which I appreciated. While on vacation we went to this Chuy's. We had a larger group (9 adults, 2 children), but we had gone earlier in the evening before it got too busy. After a short wait, they brought us to the table they had prepped for us, but it was only 2 tables pushed together and didn't have enough seats. We had to grab extra seats and squeeze in to fit. What should have fit probably 6-8 people, we had to squeeze in to fit 11, there were empty tables right next to us they could have used to give us an extra table to fit better. Further our waitress, Cassandra, seemed very rushed. We had barely sat down and had no time to look at the menu before she was trying to get the kids orders, and she refused to take our drink orders first. She said she takes all drink and food orders together. Every other restaurant I have been to always grabs drink orders first while we browse the menu to pick what we want. Never have I had a waitress refuse to take a drink order like that. We felt very rushed and like we had to make sure we did everything to her standards as customers, instead of being able to enjoy our dinner out. After we received our food, my father in law asked for some spicer salsa/hot sauce, and Cassandra brought some out and stood there to watch him eat it. It made us all feel uncomfortable, like she was challenging him to see if she could get something too hot for him instead of checking to see if what she brought was what he had been wanting. We also had an error in the drink orders, one person ordered the Paloma and my husband ordered the Faux-loma and even specified "the one without alcohol." Cassandra brought 2 Paloma's and when we verified if one was without alcohol she was taken aback, and said "no a Paloma has alcohol." She said if he wanted it without alcohol he should have ordered the "fox-loma" so clearly she doesn't understand the word "faux". I had also ordered a mocktail as I'm pregnant and felt I needed to verify mine was without alcohol because of that mix up, I asked and she seemed offended I asked her to verify mine was alcohol free. The food itself overall was what I would expect, but it was my first time at Chuy's. Though I will say my husband who has been several times with his family said he felt the food was subpar compared to his previous experiences at other locations. read more
