Queso
Ella K.

I get the hype. The interior is colorful, kitschy, and feels clean. Our server was very attentive and funny. The dips really are good. Loved the creamy jalapeño sauce, the salsa was refreshing and bright, and the queso was yellow with (likely) rotel mixed in, but definitely delicious. The chips are a little too thin and don't stand up as well against the thick queso and salsa. We really enjoyed the fajitas and the plethora of accompaniments. The beans are a little off but nothing alarming but the tortillas were super soft. They met our expectations for a white mexican establishment. The flautas were good, especially with all the sauces, but i would get something different next time.

Although Chuy's is a chain it is not local to where I live so when visiting VA I knew we had to try it! Started with chips and queso because duh. Their queso is different than most Mexican restaurants in that it's a yellow cheese base vs white cheese but wow was it so good! And I loooooved the complimentary creamy jalapeño dipping sauce, I could seriously drink it! & the chips were perfectly thin and crispy. For my entree I got one shrimp taco and one chicken taco. It comes with rice on the side too! The shrimp was fried and came with a nice crunchy slaw, I also added some of the jalapeño dip on it! The chicken was good but nothing too special. The atmosphere of chuys is fun and eclectic, will definitely be back some day!

I love chuys! The decor is so colorful and cool. We were sat near the bar area and I really enjoyed all the dog portraits! FYI if you bring in a framed picture of your pup you'll receive a free app! We ordered gauc, steak tacos, and the enchilada combo. The food was very tasty and well seasoned. Our waitress was also super friendly and very attentive. The prices are great too!

Discovered Chuy's recently and must say I was shocked about the interior. The place is so gorgeous. Whenever I want to travel I visit Chuy's because of its tropical vibes. The other nice thing is that the restaurant is super spacious each section has its own decor. Whenever I go, I order the Chuychanga (fried burrito) it costs around -$13 . It's tastes good . I always get their Tres Leches cake as well. It's really sweet and heavy so definitely save some space for it! -Costs around -$8. The service is REALLY QUICK! Definitely visit this place when you are want to travel but can't !

I love Chuys but they have to stop packing all this food into one bag. I went to pick up several dinners and a huge thing of spicy white sauce, bc I love it and use it on everything, and they crammed it all into one bag. When I got home, as I was walking to my front door the bottom of the bag broke and well, it ruined 100 bucks worth of food. This is the one place I look forward to getting food from when I can and it was ruined.

We were in the Short Pump area, and I had heard that Chuy's is an extension of the Austin-based Mexican restaurants that I had heard good things about. We decided to stop in for a quick lunch. They were busier than we anticipated for Friday at 2 in the afternoon. Then again, it's located in a busy shopping area and we came in on the last weekend before Christmas - so it was pretty crowded. We ordered and I'm pretty sure we got our food in less than 5 minutes! We chose the fajita combo. The flavors were for sure authentic. They marinate their fajita meat in Shiner Bock (a beer made in Texas), serranos, and spices - you can taste all of those in the steak and chicken for sure. Minus a star because our tortillas were cold and even a little hard on the edges, as if they'd been sitting in the container for some time. Other than that, we would definitely come back to try their tacos and beyond. Oh, and to buy more fun T-shirts :)

Really good Mexican food at affordable prices. Their kid's meal come with a drink and dessert, a huge hit with my kids. Their decoration is really unique, which makes for a fun ambiance, but service was so-so when we went. Overall a great place to get your Mexican craving filled.

Wife, kids, and I usually stop here on our way out of Richmond heading back towards the western part of the state. The service is generally quick and polite, the restaurant itself is neat with fun pictures, and the outdoor seating is very pleasant. I always get the enchiladas with some form of their sauces and it's always good.

The food and service was wonderful! My margarita on the rocks was very watery. It was too warm.

Ask the Community - Chuy's

Anyone know when they'll be going back to their original menu? My husband loves the chili rellenós and they haven't added it back.

Does anyone know if they have changed their fajita recipe? I find them spicy now which is not good for me due to acid reflux. I may have to find another place. Anyone know?

I don't think so but you can ask for them unmarinated/unseasoned if they are too spicy for your liking

Will was our server and a true delight. Perfect amount of service with a smile and a sense of humor to boot. My mom and I ordered the mixed greens and goat cheese salad with shrimp (at Will's recommendation and he was so right! ) and the white pizza. We both enjoyed our food. I thought the shrimp went perfectly with the salad and was glad I ordered the dressing on the side bc it barely needed any.

Working out of town again and GPT told me the wood fired pizza was great. It was. Sat at the bar and only one other person at the time. Initially ordering a drink was fine. After that i felt like I had to raise my hand to be noticed. Waayyy too much time talking with the friend on the other side of the bar and taking care of service bar orders. Finally the service bar guy looked over and sent one of the ladies over for a beer order. Ordered my app n pizza. Kitchen was great and totally happy with the pie. Food delivered and then another long pause before I could ask for parmigiana and pepper flakes which apparently needs to be ordered from the kitchen. Who knew since no one asked if I needed anything else. The put off gang is no return follow up to see how i was. Nothing!! No check on food or even my parm. I asked a waitress to grab me some. Again service bar and friends were the priority. Even the nice couple that were regulars noticed I seemed to be invisible. So my food was great but as i travel 40 weeks a year i leave good and puzzling reviews. Silver Diner i had no problems. Tres Macho no problem. Perry's no problem. Firebirds very attentive. So step it up Bar to match your kitchen please. Spoke with Josh the manager. He listened. Sounds like we need a bar intervention if this matches others experience. Unfortunately I am not local so you can't make it up to me unless you can credit me the great Key Lime i got to go. Recommend it highly. Cool place. Cool atmosphere. Just felt ignored at a spot i was excited to find. Unfortunate too since I was in restaurant service after college for 4 years and i tend to over tip.

But it is raining so that could put a damper on things. The menu was nice. The restaurant was appealing to the eyes and appeared to be very clean. The waitress was great The sweat tea was delicious Good music playlist, playing a variety of songs. They describe French toast as "bread pudding French toast" so the texture is a little different than the norm but it's good. The chicken is decent. I think it could have used some salt but good nonetheless. Overall 8/10. i'd like to revisit and try something else on the menu.

Farm and Oak has been on my list and I finally made it!…read more My husband and I wanted to have lunch out and picked Farm and Oak because we haven't visited this restaurant. They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.
