Stopped here on a whim and so glad we did! We were driving down the road actually going somewhere else for dinner and the sign caught my eye. For some reason switched plans on the fly! This was our first time at a Chuy's and our waiter did a great job giving us a rundown of the menu. He brought out our chips with salsa and a thing of Jalapeño crime sauce... wow. So good. I ordered the a huge steak burrito that was very very good. The amount of food was insane and I simply could not finish it. Prices are about what you would expect and just an overall good first experience, no doubt in my mind we will return at some point. read more

Not one of the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at but it was pretty good just pretty good.

I went here with two friends for a late lunch. It was super! I had a cheese chile relleno and a veggie enchilada. The chile relleno was phenomenal, the best I have had ever. The jalapeno cream sauce is the one to pick hands down! I asked about it and the waiter brought me some to try. They had free queso the day we went. James D was our server and he was very attentive and made us feel like we were esteemed guests in his home. Great representative of Chuy's. I will def return! read more

Love, love, love Chuy's! The food is always consistently good. Don't let 2 star reviews about thin chips or 1 star reviews about servers being busy deter you from checking out this gem. Yep, the chips are thin. They are crispy and amazing that way. Yep, the servers are very busy. They recently opened and that tends to happen with new restaurants. My only gripe, and it is a small one, is no draft beer. But they have a great selection of Mexican and local beers. They even have some of that yellow water with bud or coors on it if that's your thing. Great service from the bar. Not much of a liquor drinker but the wife loves their skinny margaritas. I'm so happy that Chuy's is near my house and will definitely be a regular. read more

Came here for a girls night. I had a margarita and tacos. All were delicious. Our waiter was awesome. Super attentive while being super busy. He made sure we were all happy with everything. read more

This place is great if you like Tex-Mex. We ate there at lunch today. Everyone who worked there was really nice and seemed to be in a great mood, almost like they actually like their jobs. We started with the Chile Con Queso (YUMMY) our main entrees were the lunch combo #3 and salad/quesadillas combo. Everything was very tasty. The only thing missing is a good hot sauce. We tried their hottest sauce and it was not very spicy. Can't wait until summer to sit outside and drink margaritas on the patio! read more

Really, really bad service. We asked for a drink menu...never got one. Had no idea how the "nacho bar" worked...and were never told. Also took a really long time to place our order. Before getting our food...we were SURE that we wouldn't be back. But...we got the food...and it was actually pretty good! We had the chicken fajitas on the "fajita special" night, and will be back again for the fajitas! Word to the wise - don't expect stellar service! read more

Chuy's - Appetizer sampler - Tex-Mex Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Good run of the mill Mexican food-tried this location instead of Southpark. Same great chips and salsa. The staff was a bit harried but, they just opened so.... Outdoor area to sit and eat/drink. Located in the Waverly complex-this will be a mad house in a few years. Parking lot with multiple other shops and restaurants and apartments. read more

Omg their drinks are awesome! Food comes in a "take home half of it for lunch tomorrow" kind of portions and the atmosphere is fun. They have decent chips and salsa for the table, as well. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to take friends out on a Friday! Their drinks are not whimsy, which is greatly appreciate. I look forward to coming back! read more

Chuy's had good food but that is were it ends. We started in the dinning area, So loud we moved to the bar area. 20 mins to get a drink with three bar tenders standing around joking with each other's. Had to ask for full size napkins with our dinner. Wow I have not seen sliver ware in those little paper wrappers in year. (Low class). I think the real problem is I never saw a manager or anyone that looked in charged. All employees had to be under 25 and they all were having a better time then the customers. Fun place to work, all kids should fill out an application read more

Been to the one in Greenville but this was nothing like it. Service was slow. Beverage service was slow. Location did not have the fun feel of other places. Food was good though, but our waiter was so bad I would have to give 3 stars. Love the Greenville location, you guys should go have dinner there and see what you need to do read more

No napkins during most of the meal.emty salsa & water went unnoticed,Waiter brought check unprompted without a to go box. The waitress (I was told her name was Isabel) never came t check on me. no managerial presence observed. Only saving presence was that the food was passable. read more

Go for the margaritas. Stick to the margaritas. Nibble on the chips and salsa. Come back home. Somehow, I always stray from that plan AND regret it. The food is well, it's Tex-Mex chain food. What do you expect? The service is good and the salsa bar at Happy Hour doesn't hurt. In fact, I bumped up the rating to a three star thanks to the staff and the free salsa bar. read more

Came on Father's Day around 5 pm. We were sat immediately. We ordered the guacamole appetizer. It was good but at the bottom it was all lettuce which we all found strange for an appetizer guacamole. I ordered the Tex mex salad combo with a deluxe quesadilla. The quesadillas were two tiny quesadillas but they were good. Service was good, not excellent. Drinks ran out and the manager came to refill them. Drink orders were wrong. Overall food and service were good. read more

Am visiting from Florida and went to dinner at this Chuys in Charlotte, NC. I see these restaurants everywhere but haven't eaten at them. The hostess was not friendly at all which gave a bad first impression, however the waitress was very friendly and catered to all of our needs efficiently. The food was great and the sauces were amazing. The waitress gave plenty of sauce and even offered some to try with the chips. $5 margaritas are a great deal as the other drinks were a little pricy. read more

Chuy's AKA "Expensive On the Border". It's literally the same restaurant with cheap salsa and really bad service (and a 96 for a sanitation rating). The bartender makes a nice margarita. read more

Second visit to this chain. Surprisingly both visits were really good. First time in cascades near DC And now in CLT Off Providence rd. Tasty and efficient. I'm a half Breed Mexican/European that cooks my own food so I have to say pretty good overall. Everything looks and tastes fresh! read more

We come to Chuy's all the time! Our all time favorite server is Cam- he's just fantastic and really should be the first pick for a restaurant manager or training manager because he's fabulous. The food is always good - our go to selections are the ponchos nachos or chicken fantastic and the stacked enchiladas are also really good. Arnold palmers are great also. read more

This is Donald Trump style Mexican food. Let's make mexican food great again.bland food dont eat the chicken if you want flavor. I dropped 15 dollars for lunch which is sad all in itself. Which leaves me with the conclusion that this is a Donald trump style Mexican restaurant. No flavor and cost way to much. read more

Wow this place blows all the places I have eating. What a fun place to eat. They have a huge menu to choose from. Huge drink selection also. Definitely see one go to it! read more

I was not happy with the veggie enchiladas, they were bland and no flavor. But the cheese dip and chips were very good

Excellent spot for tex-mex selections! The salsa is fresh and the chips are warm. Great drinks, laid back atmosphere and great customer service. The wait was not to long for a Tuesday evening on Valentines Day. We waited for less than 20 minutes. The food came out hot. The drinks were great! They also offer drink specials through the week. This location is new to the area. I would highly recommend Chuy's and plan to go back again. We had a great experience!!! read more

First and last visit. Service was very good. Happy with the chips and salsa. When it got to the food the problem started. The chicken was very tough and I couldn't eat it. Got cheese enchiladas instead. But the tortilla was tough. Prices were pretty high, food was pretty bad. Martini was great. read more

Cool little restaurant. I went late night got some food to go. Drinks are good at the bar and staff is cool. All of my to go food was cold. You can tell it was the end of the night none of the food was freshly cook. That's my fault for not checking before leaving. Cold caso was the worst tho lol. Again I blame me for not checking. From what I heated up and tasted it won't bad. Give it a try. If you get Togo and it's late just check food. All in all I would try again. ‍‍‍‍ read more

Meh. Service was good. They made me some guacamole without onion. Great. The fajitas were not so good. They make their tortillas in house. They were undercooked and with a poor texture. The spices were strange, not typical Mexican. The rice was very poor, and the refried beans were so-so. Overall the experience was mediocre. I would try somewhere else. read more

My daughter fro Texas gritted her teeth - the Chooy's there is awful but this was a different spelling and surprisingly good. There were 7 adults, a 2 year old and a baby. But service was prompt and accurate. We could have been given a third table which would have helped. The guacamole was especially good. It was a combination of pieces of avocado plus mashed, allowing the 3 colors of avocado to shine through. It was not overly spiced and they added chopped tomato on top rather than stir it through which meant it was not watered down. There was a jalapeno dip that was excellent and not too spicy too. The tortillas were extra thin the way I like them. I had quesadillas, and those who had fajitas were pleased. They handled 7 patrons with ease. read more

I was not highly impressed, especially for the prices. There are plenty other Mexican restaurants that offer the same food for better pricing. I had a lot of friends rave about this place, and now I might have to re-think their opinions on everything. I would tell people to stop in if they were hungry or if it was convenient, but not go out of their way to eat at Chuy's. read more

Mostly leaving this for our bartender (I didn't catch her name but she had a ponytail of braids and glasses!). We came in for a drink and early lunch panchos, and she was so accommodating. read more

I've been a fan of Chuy's for a few years now. I first discovered it in Orlando, and was so impressed that I went twice in my week long vacation. So once I heard there was one coming to Charlotte, I was ecstatic. I've been to this location a few times and it was average but tonight was horrible. It started off great, no wait, and the host and hostess were super friendly. The waitress came over quickly and was friendly as well. She kept our chips and salsa, along with our drink cups filled. But after this party came in beside us, it was as if we didn't exist. Our drinks didn't get filled, our requests weren't delivered and we waited, and waited. The table beside us had all of their needs met and all of ours were just forgotten. A member at my table asked for lemons to go with her water twice, I asked for Togo boxes twice, and we said we needed to place a Togo order repeatedly. Once we finally got our bills there was an error and she changed our bill AFTER we had given her our card. I understand completely fixing the error, but please inform me before you change something on my bill when you have my card in your possession. A member at our table gave cash as payment, and she gave her the incorrect change back. It seemed that there was just issue after issue with the service, which is a shame because the food was fantastic. The food is ultimately what kept me coming back all of these years, and the reason this restaurant is getting 2 stars instead of 1. read more

Chuy's - Number 1 combination - Tex-Mex Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Nasty food! Most disgusting food I've ever eaten. The ranchero sauce smell made me sick!

Food was good, as usual, but service and drinks were not good. Ordered the Perfect Margarita, not sure that is what I got. No Patronage (I have these every time I come). We also tried a Tito's Cherry Limeade. No lime included, no lime flavor, very sweet. Just below average drink. We were left without water at multiple points and our original drinks came after our appetizer was already eaten. Waitress could care less about serving people and was indifferent towards us all of the time. Food took forever. Disappointing experience. read more

Man, I don't know if their restaurant could feel any smaller. Such tight seating in every section. Makes it hard to get settled, and you feel like you are eating on top of other guests. Don't think about bringing a car seat inside, you'll regret it. The food is pretty good, I wouldn't say it's amazing. Prices are ok for what you get. read more

You can do better Mexican food at home. Quite easily. Not bad if there aren't any other options.

First time here tonight and definitely plan to come back! Delicious fresh tasty salsa. Chips thin warm and salty. Yummy! Ordered the Elvis Memorial Combo. Fresh hot and flavoraful! Husband ordered Steak Tacos. He enjoyed very much! Place decorated cool and love the old school music playing. Staff friendly and service good. Great Tex Mex place can not wait to go back and try another dish. read more
