We started with the family lemonade which was so refreshing and had lots of fresh citrus in it. We felt like we were at a family dinner here with how welcoming it was. We got the Sevilla style squid which was ok, the piri piri helped add flavor. The prawns were plump and flavorful in a nice sauce that we used our garlic bread to sop up the flavors. The sea bream was such a nice and light flavor. Crisp on the outside but soft and meaty inside with fries nicely seasoned and cooked. It's off the beaten path a bit on a side street but still central to town.

Lots of seating but again it was a busy Friday night so we snapped up on of their last tables. The food itself was amazing! My part of 4 each loved their mail. The seafood here is VERY fresh and of great quality. My wife and I ordered the Cataplana do marisco and the Gold Bream Fish. Both dishes were a 10/10, packed with so much good flavor! Our server Sam was extremely kind and helpful. Made our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, check them out if you are in the area! You defenitly won't regret it.

When in Lagos, we were looking for a restaurant to truly experience an authentic Portuguese meal…read moreand upon the recommendation from one of the locals, we decided to head on over to Retiro da Trindade. Between the food, prices and overall local vibe to this place, it was as close to authentic as I could have hoped for. We sat outside at this covered patio area and started with drinks, fresh bread and local cheese (which we couldn't stop raving about). Then we were served a generous bowl of rice with tons of fresh seafood and a tasty broth. Also we order the house steak which I was able to cook right at the table on a hot stone and was served with salad, rice and batas fritas. Between the two dishes I couldn't have been happier with the tasty and quality of the meal. The three of us couldn't believe that between the portion size, quality and overall dining experience that the total bill came in just around 40 Euros total...such a great deal! We noticed so many tourists walking by this place as we dined because they probably thought it was just some hole in the wall local spot...and I hope that continues to be the case because when I go back to Lagos, this will be my first places to stop by for another great meal!

Wifey got oysters and grilled octopus. Per her, the oysters were delicious and fresh with good sauce. The octopus had great flavor combinations and was expertly cooked. No complaints from her end. I ordered the sea bass with additional vegetables on the side. Wow. It came with this clam rice risotto that was so good with the sea bass. My only complaint was catching a couple of bones in the fish. I definitely recommend stopping here for dinner. We were here right around 1845 which is early for dinner out here. We were the only family seated inside so it was nice and calm. The decor is really nice inside so it's a thumbs up to bring a romantic date.
