My family and I ordered $55 worth of food, two chicken sandwiches, 2 Mac n cheese kids meals (that was not actually a meal and did not include sides nor drinks). The sandwiches were sad and the quality was about the standard of McD's. The kids Mac n cheese were basically kraft mac n cheese with chopped up nuggets on top and a very minimal sprinkle of bacon on top. The whole thing was honestly dissatisfying. The part that bothered me the most was that after paying $55 for this, we didn't even get a sauce to dip our fries in, that was an extra cost. And the lemonade in which we paid over $3 for and was advertised as "freshly squeezed" was most certainly not. Over all, I can say we won't come back here for the food.

I got the Tender Box Combo: 3 chicken tenders, fries, Texas Toast (it also comes with coleslaw & I…read morereplaced it with an order of Texas Toast) & a drink. There's plenty of sauces to choose from, one comes with the combo & I got the Rooster Sauce - which is maybe in the middle on spice level. Each sauce is labeled on the menu with the heat levels at the location (doesn't show online). I really liked the fries. More of a thin cut, nicely seasoned. The Texas Toast was slightly buttered & has a subtle sweetness to it. Speaking of sweetness, the Rooster Sauce is a sweet & spicy chili pepper sauce & paired well with the tenders. There were a few sauces that caught my eye, like the Alabama White Sauce, Comeback Sauce, even the Habanero Oil. The customer service here was really good. I was greeted & my wait was not long one bit, my food was ready in not even 5 mins. The place was surrounded by TVs. I went around lunchtime & it got pretty busy.

We always talked about it, but hadn't heard any buzz so it stayed under our radar until recently. We've now been twice and both were great! AND I have pics!! Our first time we started with drinks (as usual) ; she had the Black Walnut Old Fashion, which was good, but a little different, so she went with a regular one the second time and preferred it. I had a margarita both times and my ONLY issue was that it's not twice the size....it was very good. Before going further, our waitress was Kirsten and she's AWESOME!! Very helpful and with a great attitude!! I had the blackened reddish on the first visit which was EXCELLENT. It reminded me of the old S&J Oyster Company for you old timers. I had the Whiskey Pork Chops on the second visit, which is two Chops in an awesome sauce. My wife had the Gumbo the first time, and the Shrimp Etouffee the second, and liked both, but thought they were very similar. Don't be like us--go!!!

We ordered the hushpuppies to start and they were a little overdone. The butter was just a bit odd. It was supposed to be a green chile butter but I got no heat or spice. It was almost sweet. I wouldn't order these again. I ordered the ultimate brisket sandwich and it was comfort food at its best. It was a huge open-faced stacked sandwich with mashed potatoes on the bottom, topped with a bread base, sliced brisket, more mashed potatoes, gravy, fried onions and horseradish sauce. It was really good. The Hubs ordered the shrimp poor boy with okra. He said the seasoning on everything was lacking. I think he might have used half a bottle of hot sauce. The drink selection is sparce. Not much on tap. I did try the black walnut old fashion and it was good. I liked the salon-style groupings of prints on the walls. Honestly, I didn't notice any music playing, jazz or other wise. Service was good. When we walked out and were talking on the sidewalk, the out-of-towner summed it up, "It was good but I will probably want to go somewhere else next time." I did think the prices were reasonable.
