Good lord, where do I start with these shady guys? I'll admit to being taken for a sucker a few times in my life, but I've never been ripped off this bad. $2k+ to remove snow and ice from the roof? For that kind of money, I'd expect every last molecule of water to be gone, but three guys showed up with shovels and hammers and spent roughly two hours breaking up just enough ice to keep it from damming up more. These weren't exactly highly skilled professionals earning top dollar, either. They could barely hold their tools because they were so cold from crawling around in deep snow in jeans and sneakers. There was no specialized equipment or materials, other than some sealant that they supposedly used on the roof joints, so what exactly were we paying $1000/hr for? When I asked him to justify the amount they charged, the guy told me he should have charged me a million dollars, that this is life and I should get over it. With six interior leaks happening at once, we were desperate and these guys were the only ones who answered the phone. Only later did we learn that the going rate for this type of work should have been a quarter to half of what we paid. I can't attest to the quality of their roofing work, but Churches Roofing clearly have no ethics when it comes to their business practices, so I'd advise people to absolutely avoid them. read more
