Save your money and do NOT hire this business. In 2020 Shawn and his workers installed a brand new roof on out house and the detached garage. In 2023 the shingles on the garage started to fall off. We contacted Shawn, he sent over a crew to do the warranty claim and to fix the roof. Now, in 2025 the roof is failing again. The shingles are falling off and the prior replaced shingles turned brown. We attempted to contact Shaw by phone on multiple occasions, no response. We went by Shawn's' office twice and left a note on the door that he needs to contacts us ASAP. No response. We finally talked to Shawn in person and he said "I got you". Nothing since. This has been going on for about 8 months. We sent an intent to file a complaint with he Contractor's board to Shawn. No response. As of now we supposed to have a 50 year warranty on the roof, five years into it our roof is leaking. We are hiring another contractor to fix the roof filing a lawsuit against Versatile Builders. read more

He cashed our 16,250 check with no issues but now refuses to answer any calls or emails and has not started the project like he originally stated. We are filing a complaint with the CCB as well as taking legal action against Shawn and Versatile Builders/Church Roofing. read more

First time they came out we had a ton of staples all over the yard, a danger to our pets and our grandchild. They did not show when they said and I had to call every day to try and get them out to finish. They ordered the wrong color roof and gutters. We figured out the roof colors but it was definitely not a good experience. We are worried about the quality since it was such a hassle to get them to finish. I would never recommend them or any company name they are using. There are about 3-4 different names they go by. Buyers beware. Too bad I am required to give at least one star. Shawn (owner), came out to our house to have a look at our roof and discuss our options and not only did he get up on the roof, evaluate what damage needs to be repaired and give us some options. He also took it upon himself to just go ahead and do the minor repairs right then and there, he did not charge us anything for this it, was out of the kindness of his heart. Normally what Shawn came out to do would cost $300 but he waved the fee costing us nothing. His kind gesture moved me and I deeply appreciate what a good man Shawn is. Google reviews do not allow enough words to detail the odyssey I went on to get a roof through this company, so I will skip most of the frustrations I experienced. With that in mind, here is a long story shortened immensely: They were originally supposed to start my standing seam metal roof in early July. There were several promised/scheduled starts throughout the subsequent months where they simply did not show up. I had to call them to figure out what was going on. And an important point here to mention is that ghosted at least 9 out of 10 of my calls, which is scary when you have given them almost $10k downpayment and have been waiting months past their original start date. I told them from the beginning that I didnt really care when they started as long as it was before the wet season came, since our current roof had many missing shingles that I didnt want to have to deal with fixing before getting a new roof anyway. After much pestering and effort on my part, they finally started at the very end of November. They started tearing off my roof the day before a huge rainstorm (that was clearly forecasted), resulting in **MAJOR LEAKS** throughout one entire half of my house. Im talking about water running down the walls, dripping on our bed, etc. They had to come out two separate times to tarp over their bad felting/dry-in layer. Keep in mind this is a very steep 12/12 A frame style roof with 2 simple dormers. Should be very easy to dry-in compared to most houses. I requested a commercial dehumidifier to put inside our house, which they provided. It pulled out about 20 gallons of water in about 3 days. They put fans inside the joist bays from outside the house to dry out the insulation (which I am not confident about because it was basically 100% humidity outside/still raining much of this time). We dont have an attic space, so I still need to peal of ceiling panels to ensure that we havent developed mold since the job was finished. If I do find mold I will be talking to my lawyer and going from there. They ended up having to re felt that whole side of the house, this time using the proper gasketed nails instead of staples. Presumably the leaks were at least partially due to this improper fastening method. They finished the roof and it ultimately looked really good and we were happy with the finished product. But then it rained really hard 2 days later and we had another leak around the stovepipe and they had to come back out and fix that. Ever since then the roof is holding up and we are happy with it. I cannot in good conscience give this company more than 2/5 stars. They have called me recently to ask that I adjust my original 1/5 star review, which I posted a couple weeks before they started my roof. At that point in was using the poor review to as an attempt to get them to return my calls. I am giving them one additional star because the roof ultimately seems/looks good. If I could rate just the management of this company I would give them a 0/5. If I could rate the actual crew who did the work, it would be a 3/5. I liked most of the people doing the actual work, but the repeated major leaks we experienced reflect very poorly. AGAIN, the finished roof looks great and now seems tight, but only after an insane amount of water entered the interior of our house throughout the process. I think 2 of of 5 stars is about right given the whole experience and how much time/energy/frustration I personally had to put in to the process just to get them over here in the first place. I will note that the price was good, and the roofing system (crimpled standing seam, extruded on site) is high quality. But this company needs new management big time. If I could go back I would have definitely used a different company and paid a little more if necessary. Another note, my gutters are full of nails, screws, etc that they never cleaned up, as and I found a lot of nails staples all over especially in the fake grass/turf right next to our patio where there there is a lot of bare foot traffic. read more

We just had the pleasure of Versatile Builders Church roofing roof our home. We live in a manufacture home and our ceiling was sagging in multiple areas in our home. The owner Shawn Cote came and took a look himself and we had a quote the next day. Moe and his crew were extremely efficient, respectful and did a great job. July 25, 2020 UPDATE: After posting this review, we were contacted by Mr. Cote. He did have his staff come and complete the job on July 23, 2020. He was responsive to our concerns, which we appreciate. In order to "make things right," Mr. Cote was kind enough to upgrade the warranty on the roof at no cost to us. He also installed the leaf guards on the rain gutters, as asked, and then refunded us that portion of the cost. At this point, the quality of the roofing seems good. It was just the constant run around that had us so frustrated. We appreciate his willingness to work with us and finish the job. ********************************* July 18, 2020 Consumer Beware! Initially, we were impressed with Mr. Cote and his supposed professionalism, so we signed a contract with him on March 24, 2020 for a new roof and the installation of new gutter leaf guards. It is now July 18, 2020, and the job is not complete. Phone calls are rarely returned or answered. At the request of Mr. Cote, we would arrange for our dog to be elsewhere so that his roofers would feel safer (We did this happily at first.), but then his roofers would never show up at the appointed day. As such, we had to lock up our pet multiple times for no reason. Roofing did not start until several weeks after the contract was signed, and his communication about the start time was lackluster at best. His company's lack of follow through has also continued to the gutter shields. We have reached out countless times to see when Mr. Cote would finish the job. He does not respond to our calls the majority of the time. On the few times we have managed to get a hold of him, he promises to show up, and then doesn't. Unfortunately, we mistakenly trusted him, and paid before the entire job was finished. Four months later, we are still waiting. When looking for a roofer, I HIGHLY suggest you look elsewhere. Mr. Cote will not fulfill a contract and will leave a job unfinished. He is not the professional he presents himself to be initially. read more

Shawn took the time to answer some questions and concerns I had about my roof even though it was installed by another roofing company. I didn't know who that co was. I asked if he could possibily drop by my house and look at the the part of the roof I was concerned about, thinking of course I was pressing my luck. He sent someone to my house! Dean from Jerry's roofing, a sister co. Dean was so polite and knowledgeable. He was patient and very helpful. Turned out my roof was fine. I offered to pay him for his service he refused to accept. I am sick to my stomach as I write this! Jan 2022 we signed a contract to do a complete tear off and installation of a new metal roof along with a $14k deposit. Was told end of April. Well they started 6/22. Worked 5 hours per day for 4 days tearing off my roof. Left with about 1/4 of my roof completely exposed with nothing but plywood and rotten old shingles. We knew there was a storm coming, the owner and I even talked about it. But instead they left my roof completely untouched for a week. Now the storm is here and the 1/4 of the roof that was left completely exposed in leaking. I now have drywall damage. I am have spent the last week crying and not sleeping knowing that my roof that is over my babies and all my belongings is completely exposed for an entire week with absolutely no attempt to roof it. They have exactly 14 days to return my deposit or finish my roof or I will see them in court. Will be sending them notification in the morning that a CCB complaint will be filed in 30 days. read more

Don't waste your time shopping around for a good roofing company. These folks are as good it gets! Sean met me at my home and was very patient with me as I started asking questions immediately. He responded in terms I could understand, explained how he found the leak in my roof (things for me to look for in the future) and the repair was finished that same day. Pricing?
