Hands-down over all the American Chinese restaurants I've visited in the USA, the best one is located in Iowa Falls. PHYSICAL: The restaurant is warm and friendly. The lighting is muted and not too harsh. There's some steps so handicapped accessibility might be an issue. The bathrooms are not stellar but they are clean and functional. The booths and tables are roomy and comfortable. MENU: The menu is extensive and varied, and the prices are exceptionally reasonable, in the $7-$9 range for most entrees and $3-$6 range for most appetizers. They are happy to do a "family meal" for any combination of people, even if the menu says groups of 2/4; this includes your soup, egg roll, paper-wrapped chicken, and your entree for something like $10.95/person. The food is flavorful and highly consistent -- if I order the same thing 10 times, I get the exact same thing 10 times. It's awesome when you find something you like. Recommended dishes include Mongolian beef, orange chicken, lemon chicken, and moo shu pork. I cannot speak to the spicy aspect as Jon T has complained about, as my tastes are very Midwestern and I don't generally like to heat my food up, but several of the dishes marked spicy aren't deadly, they're just warmer. STAFF: The staff is warm, friendly, and we've come to be friends with several of them. They are quick to render service and happy to do anything they can to assist. I have no complaints about their response time or attentiveness. CONCLUSION: Hands-down the best Chinese experience I've ever had and we recommend it to anyone and everyone. Try them today! read more

This place is the BEST! Great service and food! I stop here every time I go through Iowa! It's a must stop!

Very friendly. VeryVery clean. Very tasty. Very reasonable! Lunch specials. Booths and tables.

Absolutely wonderful food, friendly staff and clean, relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely recommend!

Who would have guessed that little Iowa Falls has some legit Chinese cuisine. We just moved to town and have been trying the restaurants out one by one. We took a chance for lunch today and it did not disappoint. The lunch specials are cheap and fast but high quality. The food comes out quick, hot, and fresh. Made to order. Staff was attentive and quick. Now that we had lunch we are excited to try out dinner. Wifey had the sweet and sour pork. I had the Mongolian beef which wasn't my favorite but was good. I saw a plate of sesame chicken being delivered to the table behind us and it looked yummy. I'll try that for sure. read more

Amazing food loved the combo lowmein. Not a fan of the General Tsoa chicken it wasn't spicy or sweet more like a savory garlic like chicken. read more

We were a group of 7. The service was great All food was yummy and came out at the same time!! Great experience!!

After reading the other reviews my expectations were very high, and I was definitely let down. Ordered spicy Hunan Beef(hot level 5 requested), Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, and Egg Rolls to go. Service was quite fast, but price was a bit high for the portion sizes given. The egg rolls were basically the type y ou u can get from the freezer section at the grocery store. Hunan beef was good, but not great, and no where near a level 5 spice. And the fried rice was extremely blan. It's better than most of the buffets, and it isnt bad food, but not nearly as good as hyped by the other reviews. I will likely order again sometime, but my expectations are not going to be very high in the future. read more

I had picked up carryout here on one occasion and was pretty amazed at how bland the food was. I ordered one of the spicy dishes and it was missing spice, salt and pretty much any other flavors. On this most recent occasion I chose to try again, since I had had a similar experience at Las Flores and decide I would rather have mediocre Chinese than mediocre Mexican. Since this was lunch, you get soup (egg drop or wonton), fried wonton or eggroll, fried rice and your entrée. I ordered one of the spicy chicken dishes and selected egg drop soup and an eggroll. I asked for the chicken to be extra spicy. I understand that egg drop soup is usually pretty bland and was not disappointed in this regard. I ate a little and added some soy sauce which helped. I squeezed in my lemon from the tea, which helped. I added a little sweet and sour sauce, which did not help all that much. By that time my meal came and I asked for a bowl of chile sauce. I was hoping for something like sambal oelek, but all they had was chile in oil. A dollop of chile made the soup edible. I ate about half of it and poured the balance over my fried rice. The "spicy" chicken had no noticeable heat, so I added the entire bowl of chile sauce that they brought and a little soy sauce and to be honest, it was not bad. It was still not very hot and needed the tartness that sambal oelek would have added, but it was edible and I ate it all. The eggroll was small, but was fine, nice and crisp, but needed soy and sweet and sour. They offered no hot mustard and I did not bother to ask for one small egg roll. I guess the food here is adjusted to central Iowa tastes. It is bland in the extreme. It would be classified as Cantonese in this regard, I guess, although some of the dishes would not be typical of that. Don't expect rich and spicy Hunan or Szechuan food. Also, be prepared, if stuck in Iowa Falls and crave Chinese food, to be creative in seasoning your own plate. read more

Went to lunch here for the first time today since moving to town. I've heard many good things about this restaurant. I can honestly say I was very pleased! It was fast, hot, fresh and delicious. Staff was friendly, fast and they were right there when we needed something. At first I thought it was a little pricey for some items but after we ate, I was satisfied with the whole experience. read more

This place great in all aspects. I eat here weekly with customers. They always remember what you order and pay attention to the details. I believe she is one of the owners but she noticed I never used my straw and so she , without asking, just stopped bringing me one. I thought that was amazing. They have the best Hot and Sour soup. I always get the Szechuan beef with extra spice. The regular dish is not spicy enough for me. I've never had a bad meal there and they price is very fair. read more

The food is always Good here one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten at and I have been in alot of different states including Florida!! They are a little pricey but worth it considering the other options are fast food and they are very fast at getting your food out unless they are swamped. read more

Always great food at Choung garden! The crab Rangoon's are my all time favorite - and I test them everywhere!

Very good food! Best to eat there as opposed to take out. Service is pleasant and fast.

The best Chinese food in Iowa! Chicken and broccoli is my favorite, and the crab rangoon is awesome too!! My son loves the egg drop soup, my daughter the sweet and sour chicken, and my hubby need with snow peas. Great service. Very nice family!!! Love it!! read more

If you like crab rangoons this is the place for you! Was able to get right in and sit down and food came out quickly. Had a house special and it was average but the crab rangoons were great. read more

Every time I eat at some other Chinese restaurant it is never better than Chuong Garden is. The Egg Rolls are excellent, always hot. Their spicy soup is so good I usually pay a little extra to switch it with the soup of the day. If you ask they will also make your food a little spicier and hotter. I've never had a bad meal here and everyone that works there is friendly. read more

The "service" was borderline rude...I felt as if it was an inconvenience that I was there wanting a meal. The meal was bland to mediocre at best. I have been there twice in the last couple months with the same result...I am done. read more

First time eating here. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious! Best Chinese we've had in a long time. The service was also great. We'll be back! read more

Had orange chicken and sweet sour pork with a side of egg rolls. Thought the egg rolls were really well done. The other were not the stand out we would have wanted. The sweet & sour sauce was not something we would go back for either. Good to try once, but that is enough. Also felt the cost was a bit too much for Chinese food. read more

Great family restaurant. Definitely West coast taste in the middle of Iowa. My favorite that I can't find anywhere is their Crab Rangoons and sweet & sour sauce. Also Cantonese Pan fried noodles and Spring Chicken are favorite items that I enjoy here. Choung Garden does it well! read more

My friends and I eat here all the time and we love it! The staff is amazing and is always extremely nice. The food is outstanding and well priced. Their crab rangoon are the best I have ever had and I wouldn't want to eat Chinese food from anywhere else. Definitely recommend if you have large groups also. read more

My husband and I love this restaurant! We travel extensively between the midwest and the west coast and have not found the variety of choices anywhere else. We have found the staff is friendly and expedient. My husband likes his food with a lot of spice and I like mine with just a little. We order it with the amount of spice we each like and that's how it comes. Yes you have to let them know but it is available, if requested. It is one of the last restaurants we eat at before leaving for the winter and one of the first for us to go back to when we return. read more

Growing up in Iowa Falls, Chuong Garden was a staple. Now that I've left town, I always crave it and am excited that my husband loves it too! The egg rolls are the best - I have yet to find one anywhere else that lives up to their standard. The food is inexpensive, fresh and the service is always fast. A great local establishment and Iowa Falls is lucky to have it! read more
