9 Juan Juan
Melissa B.

Food is always delicious and fresh here. 9 Juan Juan tacos are my favorite. Tortilla chips taste homemade and salsa is always great.

Chips & homemade salsa (YUMMO!) and a TINY complimentary cheese dip. Relleno, pepperlicious (an appetizer & THE BEST THING WE IRDERED!!

I've been wanting to give this a try & finally got there for a late lunch yesterday. I'd seen a dish called "pork me up" (cheese/corn dip served with pork rinds) that I wanted to try. UNFORTUNATELY it is only a "special" & it was not available. (We had already ordered and were never informed/unaware there were any specials) The dining room is small with mix matched chairs, tables, & 1 booth. The waiter was busy taking a to-go order but was courteous and attentive. $35 with tip (no beverages) 4 stars for not being informed about any specials & their specials don't even rotate regularly so I could plan to be there for a specific dish that's NOT on the menu.

The rice/bean side was better than the tacos. Everything combined to form a great flavor. The tacos were Ok, a lot of purple cabbage which hijacked the other flavors. Would opt for something else if I eat there again

The food was outstanding! Large portions and homemade! The service was quick and the server was great! The ambience was fun!

Queso Birria with beans & rice and a guava Jarritos

Best birria i've ever had! Went with my family and had an amazing meal. Super comforting atmosphere, and the lady taking our order had the most inviting and warm energy!

My favorite Birria tacos from all the places I have tried them. And that is a lot of places! Thought my favorite was a secret taco place in Vegas, but this tops those! Go here. You won't regret it!

I had anticipated writing a more positive review based on their current postings on social media, which always have a fresh look. I understand this place is somewhat new (props for launching during a pandemic!) and today (2/22/22) was their "grand opening". However, as a business, it's been in operation for almost 2 years now, starting first as a pop-up and now having a brick and mortar place next to the OIB airport. There are 5-6 tables inside, centered around a TV on the wall. The waiter/cashier/order-taker seemed apathetic when this customer walked in. It was obvious he didn't want to be there (which he confirmed when I asked). Evidently they have volunteers doing the work according to the signage for tips, and when I asked about it, he said they worked in the kitchen (?). Maybe this is a smarty way to say the owner, or maybe her friends are helping out, I dunno. The whole vibe had me consider leaving before I ordered. I ordered chicken quesadilla and it was brought out by the owner herself. The filling was somewhat sweet, the pico was more like salsa (mostly sauce) and the tortilla was definitely overdone in places. The portion size was generous.

This hole in the wall is located next to Chubby Buddha Bar. There is no sign at the moment so it might be hard to find. They have a shared parking lot. You can also order their food from Chubby Buddha Bar and sit at one of their outdoor tables. There are some indoor tables inside with one TV. They had some specials available and limited amount of tamales. You wouldn't know they had tamales available unless you ask or look on their Facebook. The food was overpriced, but maybe that's because of the area. We tried the Birria tacos (5/5), Gringo (ground beef) tacos (3/5), and Kitchen Sink (chose chicken) burrito (2/5). I tried a couple bites of my father in law's Birria tacos. They were crispy, the shredded beef was flavorful, and the cheese was melted. The consomme I dipped the tacos in was flavorful. The tacos came with rice and beans, which were okay, rice was a little soggy. The ground beef tacos were American style soft shell tacos, with chopped tomatoes, and shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream. I was surprised the chicken in the chicken burrito was very sweet, which I did not like. For a burrito called "Kitchen Sink", I was expecting much more than just rice and beans inside. At least it was topped with more variety- avocado slices, a small amount of fresh salsa, and grated cotija cheese. It was also served with tortilla chips and store-bought salsa. You would think given their name, all of the salsa should be fresh. The staff were pleasant. If I ever ate here again, I would just get the Birria tacos.

This is best place for carne asada tacos we've had in town! Not the fanciest location, but great for tacos and beer.

A hidden gem in Wilmington ... a well kept secret of the locals …read more.. From the outside .. it looks like a road side hole in the wall but once youre in, its a whole new world ! Most people enter the bar entrance where the small patio area is .. but on the other side of the patio is the main entrance where you are created by the host stand .. You would never know how big this place is from the outside but once in... its like one of the hamster cage cages with never ending tunnels to different rooms/area... RSVP are definitely suggested since walkins are usually in Bar area or Patio area .. which isnt bad .. but its limited seating .. Staff here are cool but service can be a lil wait if they are busy . Menu is a Panamanian vibe with lots of good eats .. One of the salsas you must get is the Elote salsa its very nommm nommmm next would be the Goat Gauc which is equally amazing. The Ceviche is a must get ... yes get the Quattro which is 4oz of each one so you can sample all ! The scallops and pork belly of mash is pretty good but would be better over the coconut rice . The special of the day was a sheepshead filet over risotto which was pretty damn good ! The corvina was ok but was a little bit over done and ended up a lil drier than expected. Highly recommend asking for the homemade hot sauce ... its amazing and goes on everything! This is definitely a locals Hotspot and an interesting place to people watch... Will definitely comeback for sure .

This is based on takeout***…read more Great vibe inside. Love the decor. Lobster ceviche is really good. Huge chunks in there and the flavor is great. The tortillas are really hard, difficult to eat and not very good though :( Ahi tuna was seared (not raw like I asked for) and the tortilla was burnt. Half wasn't edible... Coconut rice is sublime. Id go again but make different choices.
