We bought a couch from NFM a year and a half ago and the cushions are already completely broken down. When you'd sit on it, you sank down to the bottom. It was awful. We brought them to Chuck and first off, he couldn't have been kinder or more responsive. He took the time to talk us through our options and teach us about the cushions, stuffing, foam, etc. Secondly, his shop was wonderful. I can't say enough about what a treat it was to work with Mike! We have a pair of 20 year old leather Lane wingback recliners (called Action Lane) and the seats were tilting to the side on each. We pretty much gave up hope of replacing them (unless we wanted to spend over $4,000 for a new pair of similar quality), so we decided to see if they could be fixed. Wow! I called Chuck's Custom Upholstery last week and they immediately put Mike on the phone. These are the nicest guys! Mike came right over the next morning to take a closer look, and said he thought he could fix them. He would take them back to his shop to see if there was anything broken inside. He thought it would be around $200 per chair, plus pickup & delivery. IN JUST 3 DAYS he brought the chairs back with new foam (carefully protected inside by an extra covering of upholstery). He retied the springs and showed us the photos of his entire process. Our chairs feel BRAND NEW. He also stayed right on budget. We HIGHLY recommend these guys. Fantastic craftsmanship. Had an expensive 8 year old couch that had seen better days. We did some furniture shopping and the quality and cost these days were insane. $1,000 for a couch that is made from fake wood, weighs nothing and limited options for fabric...no thanks. We luckily found Chuck who is close to home, came highly recommended and even picked up and dropped off. Absolutely worth the wait. Incredible, incredible job. Chuck is so nice to work with and the quality of his craftsmanship is second to none. He is down to earth and reasonable when it comes to telling you how to get the most value with what your doing but he truly delivers a Neiman Marcus quality product. I will never take anything else to anyone besides Chuck. I think I spent $675 to get our sofa recovered, which is a 15 year old Norwalk, and another $300 on fabric. New, the same product would have cost me at least 3 or 4K. He was guiding me on whether or not to add legs or keep the skirt and advising me on the lowest cost option to purchase legs if I chose to go that route. Incredibly honest, and again, beautiful, beautiful craftsmanship. You may have to wait a couple weeks or even a month to get in with him, and then I think it was about a two week turnaround, but it is absolutely worth it. Chuck is absolutely the guy you want to go to when you need something reupholstered. I had four bar stools , a vanity seat and two dining chair bottoms recovered. Great job! Straight seams, excellent fit and you can see that there is quality workmanship that went into these pieces. I was in a bit of a rush since we were moving to Florida and Chuck and his brother-in-law took excellent care of my project. Chuck is friendly, knowledgeable and is appreciative of your business. There is no hard sell of any kind - bring your own fabric - and he is very reasonably priced.
