Estate Sale find! I loved the shape, while the color was nice it doesn't go with my decor and it was worn. I wished it was a neutral velvet for my piano parlor and I had some heavy duty velvet on hand that I was saving for something special. I sent Addison Upholstery pictures of the pieces even before buying and got a quote right away. The quote was reasonable and they answered all my questions. I bid on the chairs and got them for under $40 a piece at the estate sale. So now for the best part; I took the chairs in and along the way he sent me pictures of a suggested change that I loved, so we went for it. Less than 2 weeks later my chairs were done. Wanted to give a plug for Addison Upholstery. I went in to get a zipper replaced and they were honest in that it didn't need replacing and fixed it on the spot in a matter of minutes. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!! I had this hideous ugly green ottoman from college. It didn't match any of my furniture at the time or EVER! I didn't care back then. I was living the life of a poor college student and the ottoman fit my lifestyle. I never bother to recover it. Now that I'm a big girl with my own place. I want my furniture to match. Still living like a poor college student incognito. heheh. I want a new ottoman but I didn't want to waste money on a new one when mine is in good condition. The only bad part was that it was green and it had black/ purple nail polish stains on it. I used to pain my nails sitting on it and missed. LOL I took my ottoman in for an estimate. They asked me what I wanted done to it. Told where to go buy the fabric and what kind to get. I didn't know. Thought you can just use regular fabric you use to sew clothes with. Long and his team do top-notch work! I emailed him pictures of a vintage wingback chair I wanted to get reupholstered/refinished and asked for a quote. He responded within 30 minutes and answered all of my questions, including how many yards of fabric I would need. He also asked for a wood sample they could use to match the stain to my liking, which I appreciated. There was a 3-4 week waitlist, but he put me down and exactly 3 weeks later emailed me to let me know they were ready for my chair. Now, I'm a picky person and if I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars, I want it to look absolutely perfect (I had already canceled on another upholstery place because when I saw their work in person, there were small flaws that other people probably wouldn't care about but bugged me). When I went to drop off the chair, I talked with Long about some of my concerns -- making sure the piping was perfectly straight, matching the legs to the darker part of my wood sample, etc. He asked thoughtful questions, took notes and even put up with me when, after I got home, I remembered a few other questions and sent a follow-up email (Did I mention I'm a handful? ha ha). Unprompted, Long called me when they had finished refinishing the legs so I could take a look before they moved forward with replacing the fabric. If you aren't that hands-on, you can still trust Long and his team to get it right, but it was nice to get status updates during the process and know they were being mindful of my expectations. Two weeks after I dropped it off, it was ready and the quote he gave -- $350 for the upholstery, $100 for sanding/filling/repainting the legs -- held. I look forward to working with Long and his team again and can't recommend them enough! read more

I've had 5 chairs, one love seat, a bench, two outdoor cushions (120" in length each!) and two indoor kitchen nook cushions plus many pillows reupholstered here and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of work for the price you pay. I bought expensive fabric and Swan (make sure you always ask for Swan!) was very helpful in determining how much I would need. I also recommend showing her the pieces first and letting her calculate the yardage of fabric needed as opposed to the fabric stores who will always over sell to you! Bring your own pillow stuffing and anything you want done-- also, make sure you give very specific instructions. read more

This place is a disaster. I took a gamble and brought some very expensive fabric over to have 2 small decorative pillows made thinking, worst case scenario, "how bad can they mess it up?" Well - really bad, that's how bad. Not only did they completely make the wrong size (beware of language barrier here), but they stuffed it with filling like you would stuff a turkey - no lining, just stuffing inside the zipper - and then, the cherry on the cake...a big, ugly, beige metal zipper that sticks out and has no place on a small throw pillow. They have no clue what they are doing here, as the woman's argument about the zipper was that she makes all the pillows like that. And then she proceeded to show me another pillow she had botched for someone else. As for the sizing fluke, she yelled at the guy in the front in Vietnamese, clearly placing the blame on him for the miscommunication, but she was there and it was her I clearly explained it to when I dropped off the fabric. I ended up not paying anything as they said no charge - there was no way I would have paid anyways - but nonetheless, BIG mistake. Never again. read more
