This review is for their story time which we loved!! Singer and story-teller, Christa Mae and the teaching artists of the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity have organized a fantastic event. "Storytime", an hour of song, story, and coordinated art projects for pre-schoolers and their mothers and fathers. Sponsored by the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity and Soco and the OC Mix. It was an hours event on Monday from 1-2pm (and is held every 2 weeks). The first half hour is a sing session with the sensational Christa Mae (www.christamae.com) who sings and plays popular nursery rhymes on her guitar. She's very entertaining and engaging. 1 book is then read followed by a craft. The craft supplies are provided by the center. I came for a wedding reception and my mind was blown. At first I was like, why are we at a mall?! Where do they want us all to park?? It looked crowded when we were driving in to the complex. Luckily the parking lot was larger closer to the building that we needed to go to. It was such an awesome surprise walking in. Art makes me happy. I kept running around and taking pictures with everything. I even have a few bathroom selfies. I never like taking photos of just me in it but I couldn't help it. Bugs bunny, pepe le pew, winnie the pooh, and wizard of oz just to name a few of the amazing art work. It's like going back in time and seeing all your favorite cartoons. Great art to check out. My cousin got married here this past weekend and although the wedding went great I must admit that there could be some improvements for future clients. For one, the venue puts dividers up to separate the tables for the reception area and the for the ceremony. My cousin told the venue that 240 people were expected to come so you'd think that there was enough chairs for all 240 guests for the ceremony but there wasn't. A quarter of the guests had to stand the whole ceremony. Next, when the ceremony was over and it was time to move the chairs and divider to spread the tables for the reception, there was not enough space for us all to wait while they were setting up. Luckily it was cocktail hour and everyone waited to buy drinks by the bar area and others went for appetizers. This resulted in the remaining of us to wait by the entrance. I feel like there could be a patio area while the guests wait for the setup. For the appetizers, there was just pasta salad and chips and salsa. I feel like the two didn't compliment each other and the chips went so fast leaving us with just pasta salad and salsa. Following, the salad and main course took so long to get to the tables. Many of us were finishing our food while others were starting. Lastly, there was only one bartender for a majority of the time which resulted in everyone having to wait almost an hour to be served. Again, I feel like if you know 240 people are coming please prepare and have enough staff to kill the lines, have enough chairs and room to accommodate your guests. Overall, the wedding looked amazing. The lighting that they provide on the ceiling is so breathtaking. The venue is in a nice area in a outdoor plaza and has shops to walk around before your event here if you have the time. If you're considering booking an event here please stress to them that they are fully prepared for your event. read more

I attended an art auction here last night and had a blast. This art gallery featuring the animation work of artists such as Chuck Jones and Dr. Seuss. The space also doubles as the home of the Chuck Jones Center for creativity. At the auction I was able to read about and see videos of the work they do to foster creativity in adults and children... A lost function and requirement in our schools today. They have painting classes, free drawing and much more. Fun for adults and kids. Check it out! read more

We had an amazing event last night for ARM (www.autismresourcemom.org) The projects our teens (and adults) made were unique, fun, and certainly not throwaway projects like some craft activities for groups can be. We came away with some killer crafted Christmas swag! Who knew I could draw a grinch?!! They stepped us through it and I am thrilled with the result. The facility is clean, unique, and is perfect for large, medium, and small groups. When you are in there it is clear that the staff love and appreciate art, are patient with non-artists like myself, and encouraging. They know how to engage with participants on a level that is wonderful. Shout outs to Denise, Connor and Maddie who really created a special evening! Chuck Jones has to be smiling up there in Heaven or on Marvin Martian's Space Ship at the place that is keeping his legacy alive and kicking! read more

Attended a wonderful nonprofit organization event here. The space was comfortable, the only downfall would be the sun. After 1pm the sun is shining so bright into the center that it was giving me a headache and the room quickly got stuffy warm when you close the doors along with women's bathroom stall was not in use so it left just 1 working. But other than that it was a great event. read more

Review for Story Time with Christa Mae. This is a one hour slot, every other Monday. My 7 month old enjoyed singing and playing instruments and doing a mini craft with Christa Mae. There are big blankets set out which you can sit on and enjoy listening to CM playing her guitar and singing. It's probably a bit better suited to slightly older kids who can enjoy doing the craft at the end. My babe just wanted to eat the paper bag. We met with some friends and had fun anyhow. It's free, which is fabulous. It's social and it's indoors. What's not to like? read more

This would be a great space for a party. Its a nice gallery. Full of wonderful paintings of Bugs Bunny and the whole gang. They don't have hundreds of items but a few great ones. Most are available for purchase just FYI. I felt a bit like it was more of a showroom for buying art than a gallery but that could just be me and it was still worth going inside. They also offer some morning art classes for kids on the weekend. If you are in the area, its definitely worth a peek inside. read more

Went to a dance that was held here for New Year's. It was ok. The center it self is nice space for a large group but the dance it self was slightly disappointing. It was a Latter-Day Saint mid singles dance with the theme Great Gatsby. The drinks were cleaver, karaoke, and dancing of course. My friend wanted a place to put her purse and there was supposed to be a coat check but really it was just a RACK that was supervised by a very much so older lady. I think id rather have a more private place then this in the middle of a shopping center surrounded by other restaurants. Perhaps a club house. Many people kept coming up to us asking if the dance was for the public. For 20-25$ at the door it was a bit pricy for a dance they could have had at a church building for free. read more

Art and movie making class for kids on Saturday mornings is a must. There's a farmers market a few steps away so I was able to drop off my kiddo and go do some shopping while he created his masterpiece. The staff are very attentive and welcoming and help the kids with their art work and animation projects. Love this little gem of a place. read more

Loved this place. The gallery just cant help but make you smile. With art of Dr. Suess stuff and of course Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes. It was fun and refreshing. Looks like they had a Birthday party going on, which looked fun. I will have to check out the art classes for my daughter. It looked so FUN. read more

So our homecoming was set here and let me tell you, it was shit. Before even entering the damn building we were frisked and they checked through all our belongings. And not in a nice way, they were fricken rude!!! They took my friend pen and hand sanitizer. A PEN AND A HAND SANITIZER!!!! WTF ARE WE EVEN GOING TO DO WITH IT????? And the venue is extremely small 100% don't recommend unless you want all your guests to be touched!! Also don't lean on the walls unless you want to be screamed at. I wouldn't call myself an art savant but I can always appreciate a good art venue. This place is packed with looney tunes drawings ranging from Daffy Duck to Bugs Bunny. Additionally, they have a few Star Wars paintings and Snoopy and the gang art work as well. However, I personally would never put down the money to purchase these drawings unless I was a HUGE fan of the cartoons. Additionally, unlike similar art venues like the Nucleus, they don't switch the paintings up and the theme stays the same year round. Honestly, they should make this place like the Nucleus and constantly rotate the theme for the store year round in order to keep the customers coming back. Wonderful place for art education in a fun environment. Went there this morning and they have free art classes for children (and adults) to learn to draw, trace, color, and create short animations. The volunteers and helpers are great. It's free or charge but definitely a worthy endeavor to donate to while having a great morning. read more

DO NOT PLAN YOUR WEDDING HERE! Venue is great but 24 carrot catering is HORRIBLE. When we went to go see the place the person was eating and was like well this is all. When I asked for the price to show my fiancé the details she said "I emailed it to you" SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. With that being said I tried to reach out to her bosses to let them know I was still interested but would like to work with someone else. He looked over the contract and said I'm sorry she made an error and it'll be 2k more!! I asked if he can honor her price and he said no that it's too much of a loss for them!! I had such a pleasant experience hosting an even at the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. Our event was a professional mixer for educators in the community on a Thursday night. The venue is a very large open space with high ceilings. It's stunning! We had about 50-60 guests, not enough to fill the space. I was worried about that, but Tony was able to create a smaller, intimate space for our party size with the moving walls. Some of the Chuck Jones artwork was left on the walls, and we did very little decorating. Our guests really enjoyed the art gallery aspect of the venue. Tony was extremely helpful and accommodating. I just gave him the specs of the events, and he made great suggestions as to how to set up the venue. We had a team of people working on this event, and each of us would want to drop in to the event to check out the space and ask questions, and someone was always there to help us. Melinda was typically there during the day, and she was always welcoming and supportive. On the day of the event, Carmen and Melinda were there all day while I was in and out dropping things off. They were available to answer all of my questions and were very sweet, even though I was not supposed to set up until 5:30pm. The set up was on time and looked great! We utilized their cash bar, and the bartender, Kenna, was very sweet and warm to our guests! She was quick and professional the whole evening. Tony even dropped in during the even to say hello and make sure everything was running smoothly. The clean up was very quick, and they did not give me a hard time when our guests stayed past the end time of the event. Overall, it was a really wonderful experience. Our guests commented over and over again how beautiful the space was. It's such a hidden gem in Orange County. You HAVE to check it out! Thank you, Tony, Melinda, and Carmen! read more
