My son and his family were in from Germany with my 2 very small granddaughters, and I really wanted to take them to Chuck E. Cheese. We'd never been to this particular Chuck E. Cheese, but we'd been to others in Virginia and out of state with my stepdaughter. This one is in the bustling area off Carl D. Silver. It is clean and festive inside, but admittedly this one is much, much smaller than several others I've been to. Sadly, there wasn't a whole lot of things for very small children. Most of what was available was for children between 5-7 years of age. Chuck E. Cheese himself does come out and make an appearance on the hour every hour. If your child follows him, they will get to sit for tickets that are thrown in the air for them to basically fight over, that can be used for the cheap, dollar store items, that are overly extravagant in comparison to cost. This is typical of all Chuck E. Cheese's. You can request a photo with Chuck E. Cheese at the end of the parade, for no cost, but you really have to chase him down, because he is in there and out of there fairly quick. All machines were in working order and the food was delicious! I don't know what Chuck E. Cheese did to change their recipe with their pizza, but it was very tasty. We didn't get anything off the salad bar, but it looked fresh and clean. They can get expensive, but if you're going to stay awhile, the combo pizza/ticket deals with the tickets are the better value. They don't tell you, but they do charge for every single rubber wrist band that holds the cards. They asked how many cards did I want. I said, "I don't know...Four". I didn't realize I'd get a separate charge for splitting our tickets among the 4 cards! This should have been spoken beforehand. Once you purchase those cards/wristbands, you can reload them, so hang on to them. Staff were friendly and I do think that in the end, my granddaughters (ages 1 and 2), were too young to really enjoy the experience of Chuck E. Cheese. But this could definitely be a fun experience for those a little older.

Facility overall very well maintained and all games were in good operating order. Salad bar was well stocked and all ingredients were fresh. There is a decent variety of games. This particular facility is smaller than others in the Northern Virginia area. Staff was friendly enough! Would return to this location if in the area and looking for something to do with my son.

They are ridiculous ridiculously excessive. Video games should not cost $1.25 a pop, it should be a quarter or $.50. Go karts should not be $10. Mini golf should not be $10. That's just ridiculous. Also what sucked about a lot of of the games is that, let's say it's a racing game, and you came in first place, your game is over. You don't even get to play anymore. You have to PAY more. Takes all of the fun out of it when you're constantly having to pay. I DID have fun, and I enjoyed myself quite a bit, but the price is really excessive. Probably won't ever go back unless it's with a group of friends and we just feel like blowing a lot of money. I feel terrible for parents because a couple of kids could easily burn through $50 in a couple of hours here.

There is also pressure at the counter to make a quick decision, especially with a long line of customers waiting behind you, which makes it difficult to thoroughly read and understand the contract in its entirety before signing. After realizing the park's hours of operation did not work with my son's and my schedule, I immediately reached out by email requesting to cancel the membership. My request was denied. I also explained the financial hardship caused during the government shutdown, contacted corporate directly, and submitted a formal letter, yet they still refused to work with me. Unfortunately, this experience showed me that this park is not customer-focused. Customers are locked into a strict 12-month contract regardless of whether the membership becomes unusable, financially difficult, or was originally presented in a misleading way. Came here for a big release movie - was initially skeptical as my husband and I have been spoiled…read moreby the iPic theatre in Maryland that has full service dining and comfortable reclining seats. But since this place is so close to us - we decided to give it a shot. Let me just say, this place has potential. Upon walking in - there is a decent sized arcade that appeared to have a good amount of games and was relatively clean. Good addition to a theatre I'd say. The concession space was typical of any movie theatre. We opted for the 21 and above "VIP section". (Which after 4:00pm you can head upstairs to enjoy movies without kids - very nice touch). We arrived about an hour early to have drinks at the bar upstairs (Chatterbox). First glance this place looks pretty neat, gives old school vibes ; think Great Gatsby esque. The bartenders were really friendly and the experience was nice. Looks as if there could be some updates done to some of the furniture, noticed some loose chairbacks, wobbly tables, etc. - but did not ruin the experience. Even was a billiards table to pass the time. This is a great space to enjoy a few words with friends or significant others before the movie. After we made our way into the theatre, it was large and spacious and the screen and sound was excellent. It appears you can head into the theatre up to an hour before which is nice because you can get settled in before the show. You are able to scan a menu via QR code and have food/drinks brought out to you. The food menu was pretty robust and food was good (keeping in mind this is a theatre - I did not expect 5 star dining) ; it did the job. The service during the movie did not interrupt enjoying the film too much. However the biggest qualm I had with this place began even before the movie started, is the format of the seating. The seating includes large plush reclining chairs/loveseats. Most seats are loveseats with partitions on both sides -which is nice for privacy. There are some single chairs throughout but not many. However when buying two tickets online, the computer auto selects your seats. You are unaware of where you will be seated until after the tickets are purchased. This is a departure from what I am used to as most luxury movie theaters allow you to select your seats, just like you would on an airline! But we found out that having two tickets beside each other does not mean you will get a conjoining love seat. A couple may get two seats with a partition in between the chairs. Which is what my husband and I were stuck with. A nice date night with a huge partition blocking you and your SO is less than desirable. This also means you may be seated randomly next to a stranger on a loveseat. I think the theatre needs to change their website to allow people to select their desired seating because this is a huge disaster and turns an enjoyable movie experience into a nightmare. I saw many other couples experiencing this issue as well. Luckily my husband was able to run down to the main floor and manually get our chairs changed to the only open loveseat in the theatre (this was not easy and he almost missed the beginning of the film - we got there earlier to avoid lines and he stilled ended up in one). I will give this place another chance, because the bar, the food, and the theatre itself was good. But playing roulette on where you will be seated in the theatre is not what I'd call a enjoyable movie night. Fix that, and you will improve the experience tremendously.

Theater 4 was actually very clean so I had no complaints for the viewing experience itself but the concession area was very dirty. Which I didn't expect since it was only 1:15pm they can't have been open for very long. We easily got two lanes (they allow 5 people per lane), and the setup worked perfectly for a group our size. What really stood out was the variety of games--way more than just standard bullseye throws. We played everything from Tic Tac Toe to Zombie Hunter and even Buck Hunter. Tons of fun and definitely keeps things from getting repetitive. The staff were friendly and helpful--they give you a quick rundown on how to throw, then let your group take the lead. It's a laid-back vibe, which we liked, but if you're looking for more hands-on coaching or lessons, you'll need to flag them down again. Food options are limited--basically pizza, chips, and chicken nuggets--but that's not really the focus here. What they do have is a solid beer selection, reasonably priced at $4-$6 a can, which is a nice bonus. Only downside: it was pretty warm inside. Not sure if the A/C was struggling or what, but by the end of our hour we were definitely sweating.
