I could spend all day here listening to Gino Stories. I brought a 40-year-old bass here because the guitar tech in the back of the shop is phenomenal and regionally renowned. If not nationally. Despite being completely booked, he found time to tune it up a little bit and give me some great advice on my next purchase. I found this place on the recommendation of a small store in woburn center. The front of the store is all guitars and gear and gino. Yes there is a Gino at least I think that's his name. There are probably at least fifty or seventy five beautiful guitars and basses for purview and plucking, but you have to be very careful. Gino provides a great illustrious story for each instrument. And will talk endlessly about them. You can tell that he is a consummate guitarist end musician. Very outgoing. And communicative. I bought an old Ampeg cabinet a pedal and a soft-case for my bass. Very reasonable prices. Very reasonable advice. Fantastic selection. Not to mention the genius in the back of the store that can find a fix for anything and knows everything about anything guitar. Easily worth a 45 mlnute or more long drive to get here. You won't be disappointed even if you walk out of here empty handed. The place is a music school, museum and an ICU for stringed instruments electric and acoustic. One of a kind without a doubt. Is it the eighth wonder of the world? Probably not, but definitely belongs in Ripley's. You'll see, check it out

After he played the guitar he was extremely pleased with the set up Also, Evan asked Bill his opinion on which kind of acoustic to buy. Bill advised him in his personal opinion not to buy what he was getting and then when Evan came in, he agreed with them and said it was a poor purchase and if Bill could help him out and set it up for properly Bill had done extra work for Evan didn't charge him. He recently charged me $125 to change the strings on an acoustic and adjust their height, an action which I observed literally take him 30 seconds to do. The strings were cheap and of low quality, made the guitar sound worse than before, and he messed up my instructions to raise the strings, which he lowered initially then blamed me claiming I had mis-instructed him. He also didn't have the decency to tune the guitar. Very sloppy and exploits his customers. He's insulted me on repeated occasions claiming he's only joking when I barely know the guy. It's unprofessional. He sold me a decent Telecaster several months ago and treated me alright at first but I've had it with his store. There is a reason several Guitar Center employees have informed me that they get many customers complaining about their experience at Bill's Music Center.

I've always wanted a candy apple red Strat. The electronics were terrible, the nut was plastic, the action was way too high and the intonation was terrible, and the pickups were underpowered (they were crap, actually), but I knew from past experience that I could count on Domenic at Third Floor Guitars to turn it into a quality instrument. Once again, he didn't disappoint. He replaced the plastic nut with a Tusq nut, swapped out the pots with 3 CTS 250k pots, replaced the switch with a genuine Fender 5-way switch, replaced the jack with a Switchcraft jack, installed an Orange Drop 022 cap, and installed 3 genuine vintage1990s MIM Fender ceramic magnet pickups - and of course, a full setup. I played it tonight at my band's practive and everyone (including me) was amazed at how awesome it sounded. Honestly, it sounded as good as my 1978 Strat - maybe even better!

I was astonished And I should say every time that I bought a guitar there I felt uncomfortable. but at the time they were really the only game in town for Taylor guitars. I don't know if it's changed, but I heard that the guy that used to work at the front is part of ownership so I'm not sure anything's changed. The individual was not particularly friendly. I felt sorry for him in a way - kind of a dour dude. I hope for new folks going there it has warmed up a bit. i'm a southern boy and not originally from Massachusetts but it get kind of cold up here if you know what I mean.

I looked and bought it. It was late at night. I paid for it and was told to come back Monday. He needed time to change the strings before he let it leave his shop. Monday turned into Next week. Stop by again and he tells me it's not ready yet. Came by to pick up the guitar after two weeks of waiting to replace the strings. To my amazement it's now missing two knobs. He said he would order it from Charvel. Take the guitar home he never changed the strings. 8 weeks later no contact from Ed telling me the knobs are in. After exchanging nasty text messages I drove up to Danvers at Guitar Center and they hooked me up on the spot with aftermarket knobs. 1st impressions of Eddy. He comes across as a very nice guy. Personable, shared some good stories. As it turned out we knew some of the same people.....after reading reviews here the results are the same. I understand he is on his own and overwhelmed. I get that. I am in the Plumbing Business and get overwhelmed sometimes. Only Ed knows why he does what he does to some of his customers. I wish him all the success but I know I will not be back.

Over the past 4 years, I was assured that the guitars were going to be delivered but the Dean production queue was behind schedule. Throughout this entire time I was assured that they would be delivered. In early March of this year I finally reached out directly to Dean for the status of the guitars and was told the orders were canceled years ago. When I found out, I tried to reach out to Ed about the status of my guitars and deposit. Ed has not communicated back ever since. He has turned into a cowardly ghost. He needed to adjust the frame and researched what glue Martin uses on their composite material. His pricing was more than fair, the turn around time was less than 2 weeks, and he even restrung and ensured the overall structure of the instrument was in good shape. It sounded and played better than it had in years. He discussed the problem with the bridge with me at length, and stated that if the quote would be exceeded, he would call (the actual price fell well below the top quote value). I'm definitely bringing my guitars back to Equilibrium for all of my repair and check-up needs.

Most recently, he replaced a licensed Floyd Rose bridge on my Jackson DK2S with the real one. He also changed the bridge pick-up. Before, he also helped with a similar bridge replacement on my Japanese Jackson SL3 and replaced all pick-ups with a new set. The work he does is amazing. When I leave my guitar with him, I know I'm going to get great service. But what I most appreciate is the communication. He always contacts me to let me know what's happening and if he runs into an issue, he'll always come to you with alternatives so you can choose what you want to do. I'm a happy customer and I will definitely be back whenever my guitars need some professional attention.

To be noted, they also teach music. They teach music instruments, Guitar, Drums and Key boards. Trust me, the owner is an excellent teacher. I have tried in many places to learn guitar but after few classes I usually lose my interest. When I tried here, guitar teacher (who is also Owner) impressed me a lot. He exactly understand why and where I am making the mistakes and he will correct the course based on my speed. Also, when I make any mistakes, he will tell me where I am making the mistakes and explain me why should I correct it. This place is not like tradition classes, where they always go in one set of sequences which might not be suited for everyone. He takes individual interest on everyone and define the class based on the student. The best part is, he will remember exactly where he left and continue from there.
