My hubby talked me into trying this restaurant based off of other yelp reviews. Got to say - the pasta was really, really, really good! They aren't lying when they tell you the portions are HUGE - think family style! We ordered a pizza and the Killer Shrimp pasta (I think that's what it was called - maybe Crazy Shrimp??). My husband still hasn't stopped talking about that pasta! The pizza was just okay, but that pasta! Yum, yum, yum! We knew we were going to leave with leftovers but we didn't realize how much - these 2 items could easily feed 4 people! The atmosphere of the restaurant threw me off a bit because it's very bright inside. I think if they turned the lights down just a bit it would make for a better experience. Just my two cents. The drinks are delicious and the entrees can each feed two (the waiter cautioned us in ordering two pizzas for the two of us; he was right - we ended up not even finishing one). We were staying at a nearby hotel, and this was in walking distance, so we felt we had to drop in. We walked in, and the aesthetics were definitely already better then the photos we saw, and when we went upstairs to the actual restaurant it was a very unique setup. When we ordered, menus were in both English and Spanish, and the servers spoke English very well. They let us know we were most likely ordering more than two people could finish, and they were right! The portions were incredibly large, and the food was fantastic. My fiancee ordered a pizza, and I ordered one of their signature pastas. We also ordered a ferraroche milkshake, which was great to the last sip. We will be frequenting this place again next time we are in town. read more

Best pizza I've ever had. So when we were going there, my parents and I were just looking around for somewhere to eat at and we we walked past it and decided to try it. It was probably one of the best Italian-like restaurants I've been to while on this vacation. During our stay in Cancun we visited Cheester's twice! This is one of the only restaurants near the hotel zone that really gives you a bang for your buck. The first time there, we each ordered a Mangorita (a mango smoothie with tequila) and shared a "La Polla" pizza. We couldn't finish the pizza and chugged out huge drinks! The second time, we opted for no alcohol (though the Frida Kahlo looked great) and order a Sydney salad and El Corleone pasta. FANTASTIC! And again, we couldn't finish either dish. My date and I went here after visiting Aquaworld. They brought us bread and butter. We ordered the Chstr. It was a large plate of pasta with four cheeses. We were able to share it and have pasta left over. We also ordered grilled chicken. It was very yummy. The restaurant was fairly empty. I just got back to my hotel room after eating at Cheester and I have never so badly needed to log on to Yelp to write such a scathing review. My experience at Cheester honestly forces me to question the authenticity of every 5-star Yelp review I have read. I use Yelp religiously when visiting cities for the first time in order to find restaurants worth dining at, and this experience may push me to find another restaurant rating system to refer to in the future. The restaurant was nearly empty at 7:30 p.m., which should have been a telling sign that something wasn't going to sit quite right. We started out with Cheester rolls, which is a bizarre take on the traditional mozz stick / fried cheese. It was a four cheese blend, deep fried in a wonton eggroll-like wrapper, topped with pesto and parmesan, and then drowned in a Thai-Italian-Chinese fusion (if that's even a possible combination for you to construct in your head) sauce. What did mozz sticks ever do to the chef to force him/her to defile this staple in such an outlandish fashion? The order came with 4, and we didn't touch the second half of the order because we couldn't stomach the sheer amount of grease in the dish. But the Cheester rolls weren't even the worst part of the meal. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza - hard to mess up, right? No, wrong. The pizza arrived at the table thin as cardboard and tasted like your typical $5 frozen pizza from the grocery store. The pepperoni was even arranged in concentric circles. The extremely thin crust was undercooked and completely doughy. There was no sign of sauce on the pizza, and the cheese was extra salty. One of us ate one piece, the other took one bite of his piece and pushed the plate aside. We politely asked for the rest of the pizza to go, but it went immediately in the trash outside the 7/11 next door. With the absolute garbage marketed as "pizza" at Cheester, I can't imagine how this place stays in business except for an endless stream of drunk spring breakers for a couple of weeks in early March. Do yourself a favor and skip Cheester, regardless of how badly you're craving pizza during your vacation. Your body, mind, and stomach will thank you. read more

My family are true professionals is the art of eating mass quantities of food and we still ended up taking half a pizza home. The view from the top deck is a must see and absolutely gorgeous. You can see miles of ocean and my family thoroughly enjoyed watching tourists attempt to drive small boats around the harbor. The speed boat that drives through sporadically is worth the trip. Bang for the buck at the beach! This place had great pizza and pasta! The portions are huge! My son and I split the pasta and had enough left to feed a third person easily.
