I chose Chris's Window Tint based on a recommendation and scheduled my appointment several weeks in advance because I had an upcoming family trip to Florida and wanted the windows tinted beforehand so the vehicle would be more comfortable during travel.
Because I work about two hours away from Glasgow and live a little under an hour from the shop, I planned the logistics ahead of time. I dropped the vehicle off the night before my 8:00 AM appointment while I was already on my way home from work. My wife also had to drive out to meet me at the time I dropped the vehicle off so she could take me back home, which added another layer of coordination to an already tight schedule.
At no point during scheduling or at drop-off were we given any instructions about preparing the vehicle, including that my child's car seat would need to be removed before service.
At 7:30 AM the morning of my appointment, I received a call which I missed. They left a voicemail stating they could not remove the car seat. When I called back about 30 minutes later, I was told it was too late to move forward and that I would need to reschedule.
At that time, I was less than an hour away and immediately offered to come straight there to remove the car seat myself so they could continue, or alternatively to leave the vehicle another day so they could adjust their schedule and still complete the work. Neither option was accepted, and I was told the appointment would have to be rescheduled.
I understand the car seat may have prevented them from starting on the rear window, and shame on me for not knowing it needed to be removed. However, I had never taken a vehicle to a tint shop before (which is why I originally relied on recommendations), so I was not aware of the preparation requirements.
I also don't understand why work couldn't have started on other parts of the vehicle, such as the side windows, while I was on my way to resolve the issue. Instead, the appointment was canceled outright despite my efforts to correct the problem immediately.
I was then told it would be at least two weeks before they could reschedule, which would push the service past my vacation entirely. That timing defeated the purpose of scheduling in advance.
Afterwards, I contacted multiple other tint shops in the area, and every one of them said they were booked out months but every one of them also said they would work me in or find a way to accommodate the situation. That contrast was noticeable given how inflexible this appointment ended up being.
Overall, the combination of unclear preparation instructions, lack of communication, and unwillingness to adjust the appointment resulted in significant inconvenience and a wasted trip for both myself and my wife.
I can't speak to the quality of their tint work since the service was never completed. read more
