My family, friends and I have been coming here for a while. It's a local and reliable cafe located close by the beach and conveniently between two relatively main streets. The staff are friendly and quirky. Menu is pretty straightforward consisting of omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, waffles and French toast. Portions are slightly on the smaller size but is justified by the cheaper costs. Depending on how busy it is, you may also spend sometime here so don't come if you're in a huge rush. Loved this place. Went for breakfast. It is DOG FRIENDLY on the outside patio- I love places that I can enjoy with my pooch! The food was fresh and delightful. The waitstaff was kind and attentive. Getting a thermos of coffee for my unlimited refill was much appreciated. This is a family run business which deserves recognition-it is obvious they care so much for their customers and the quality of the food they serve. Lots of available street parking close by. A friend and I started off the New Year in the best breakfast place ever! The Greek omelette was absolutely delicious. Light and fluffy. The hash was out of this world and the coffee was excellent. David & his staff did an amazing job on Saturday to cater a Jack & Jill Baby Shower for over 100 people, that I was hosting. The hall did't have a kitchen just a small utility room with a few counters. The passed hors d'oeuvre, stationaary appetizers & buffet all was delicious. David helped me with the portions ahead of time & there was plenty of food for everyone, The staff made everything look & easy & were always there to help. What can I say other than I am absolutely appalled by the behavior of this establishment. We waited over an hour for food-which never came. We were never given any explanation as to why our food was late. We inquired about our food multiple times. Christoper's clearly serves ONE kind of customer. The owner's racist rhetoric and his choice words to describe me and my fiancé is scary. His words clearly show that at best, he is rude, and at worst, he is very racist. First time at this restaurant and what a complete horrible introduction. I asked the server for an outdoor seat and he said I could take anything that was open. I immediately took a table and sat down. 35 minutes later no one had even approached me to greet me, offer a menu or a drink. What a despicable way to treat a customer. Walked down the street for Sunday brunch with my husband and my son. I ordered two eggs with bacon, homefries and an english muffin with a single pancake. My husband ordered the same with rye bread. My son ordered a Belgian waffle. We walked in at 11:40 and our food was served at 12:10. We waited for a half of an hour and that was a bit long. The food was tasty but the preparation could have been better. It seemed the griddle was just a little too hot and the pancake was brown on the outside but not fluffy and not fully cooked in the inside. My English muffin was cold and not toasted completely and I didn't eat it. All in all, the food was pretty good. The service was super slow and there was one waiter that seemed to do all the work while the two waitresses looked busy but did little. I would definitely come back and make sure I was specific about my toasting preference. For a neighborhood cafe, not bad. (I also noticed the owner, David, responds to many reviews that may not be favorable so I am hesitant to post a review but feel it is necessary. Not bad, David. What a great spot. Almost European in feel, just down the street from downtown Lynn. Had poached eggs over hash, with home fries, & a marble rye toast. Eggs were cooked to perfection, my server went the extra step to talk about placement (On the hash or next to), and we actually had a serious discussion about the pros/cons. Love it! The hash was as good as it gets. All homemade w/ an original spice recipe that just nailed it!! Toast was not over buttered, & complimented the breakfast. If I had one thing I would make clear, is that when I asked for the potatoes to be a bit crispy, my server I believe, thought I wanted those added to the hash as well. So, I never got to taste them on their own merit, & I heard they are exceptional. Oh well, no harm. Gives me a reason to go back. Had gone alone. Waited on by a young man who ignored request for water, and forgotten remainder of order. It was not busy. Waited. Asked owner for as he passed by the table for water. Loudly, and designed to embarrass, I was instructed to say please . Whether he thought he was funny or not, I was angry and embarrassed. As a "grown up", I refrained from punching him in the throat. My requests Ignored as a solo diner . Shamed for asking for items that were forgotten. Poorly treated when I did ask, I shall not ever return. Christopher's is basically the breakfast spot you are going to find in Lynn. I ordered the herb waffle burger. Really good, a little messy, and you can also get a drop egg on top if you ask (a poached egg that is then battered and fried but gooey.) I found it a bit hard to eat due to the size of the waffle being a little smaller than I'd like. Their mixed juices are also quite good. Not to sweet, but with nice flavor and they go quite well together. Enjoyed the red dawn, but there was also a pear mixture that was subtle and fun to drink. One strike against it is while the hash and potatoes are fairly good they seem to be overcooked to the point of being a little too burnt. Service is good, and I like the ambiance, but the tables are a bit old and the decor could be updated just a week bit since when we tried to move a table one of the legs felt like it was on it's last legs (hur hur hur.) read more

Local cafe in the area. I ordered corned beef hash with a croissant. The corned beef hash barely had any corned beef in it and tasted a bit burnt. The croissant was nice and grilled which I appreciated and there's plenty of great coffee to choose from since they grind the beans right in front of you. I've actually never been inside, as we just started ordering from here at the beginning of COVID but it's becoming a regular place for us. Decided to call in for take out. Wonderful greeting full of energy and humor. Ordered a western omelette, home fries and a side croissant. Overall the quality of the food looks good. Taste of the home fries isn't traditional, Christopher's has its own spin. " seasoning". Not feeling it but the quality is there. Just not for my tastebuds. Western omelette is a fluffy egg blanket with a surprise of thick ham and veggies inside. Ham a little to thick for me but the quality is there. Overall wish the omelette had a little more cheese, eggs not sooo fluffy and ham not so thick. The presentation and quality is there. My tastebuds wasn't feeling the food. I cannot believe the wonderful, quality, quantity, and service that are available at this small hidden gem right up the street from Swampscott and Lynn beach. Incredible high quality food, that the owner (very personable) said is selected by him. It is evident that he takes great pride in preparing his food and dishes. We could NOT eat all of our food and ate a huge amount of our breakfast/brunch plate. The 3 egg vegetarian/cheese omelette was fantastic (It was so big looked like 5 egg omelet). The home fries were incredible, even I (anti carb queen) couldn't resist. They offered us breads/English muffins/ or bagels with our breakfast as well. The price with coffee and orange juice was VERY affordable and more than fair. We will be back! Thank you! I looked at lunch menu that will wait for another time. We live nearby and go at least once a month. It's fantastic. The food is really excellent, and there are new specials every weekend that keep it fresh. Their pastries are incredible; I recommend the coffee cake. The staff are nice, and they're very accommodating to families. They make us feel like regulars. Lovely selections for breakfast. I had the sweet potato quinoa cake on spinach with poached egg. Perfect sized portion, healthy and delicious! I really liked their serve yourself, bottomless coffee and that they offered real cream and agave add in's. The space is nice and bright. Service was friendly and quick. Local mom and pop shop in Lynn! I stopped here with a friend after exploring Nahant and working up an appetite. We came around 1:30 on a weekday and it wasn't busy and pretty quiet. Several cafe tables and chairs all around, a bar with several different coffees, and menus on the tables. Our server came right over and gave us both the lunch and breakfast menus. They have a wide-range of omlettes, sandwiches, and burgers. I chose the half curried chicken salad sandwich on wheat with a side of sweet potato fries for around $8. The chicken salad had just the right amount of curry. I do wish the chunks of chicken were a bit smaller to make it easier to eat on the sandwich. I loved the fries! These are like shoestring fries and tossed with sesame seeds. My friend ordered an omlette and a juice which she said tasted good. We laughed when we saw the receipt and it said "odwalla" for the juice...is it just the Odwalla brand? It was still good she said and only was $3 for a glass. So this little corner cafe had great reviews and being from Lynn, I thought why not give it a go. I heard the service is slow verbally from a friend but that didn't deter me from the yelp review. Honestly, we walk in.. There was no greeting from the hostess... Was there one? The gentlemen before us, stood at the door waiting patiently to be seated and 10mins into waiting, he sat himself. Noticing no one made notice of us or of the gentlemen, we also sat ourselves at a table for four. Waitress came by after 5mins, ask if it was just us two? We said we were waiting for two more. She said, ok... And we didn't see her again for another 10mins. There was no asking if you wanted water or coffee. Our friends and I were busy talking, questioning rather we order at the counter or were the waitresses are going to take our order. When we did order, we waited a good another 10mins for our food. I had the corn beef hash, sunny side egg, side of bacon, and wheat toast. My corn beef hash looked over done. Was good considering I like it kind of burnt. My toast was plain and there was no offer if i wanted jelly or butter. My husband had a lox scramble which was pretty decent. My friend had the lox pancakes but it was such a small portion which the waitress said the cook took note of it and will bring him another one. Why even serve it to him without correcting it first? Overall, the place is quaint. If you're not in a rush and just wanted to sit around, its a place for you. Food is home feel and nothing you couldn't make at home. Service is slow but people are nice. I went last week with my brother and we were both unimpressed and dissatisfied. The only thing I liked was the self serve coffee. Our server was nice and pleasant. ..but all of the food was absolutely tasteless. I got a western omelet and was surprised to find a (fatty) ham steak in the center of it. Gross. My brother got some sort of Mexican omelet that he said was overloaded with salsa and missing the sour cream that was promised on the menu. Our table was surrounded by 8-10 giant flies the entire meal. Hey guys it's January. In New England. Why? We shared a Belgium waffle topped with bananas and whipped cream which looked scrumptious - yet I detected not one iota of flavor. I wanted to write a review before I even left this place, it is that fabulous. And no - they do not have internet, but I count 4 different unsecured "linksys" around. (People, learn to secure your internet, will ya?!?). First of all, the only thing that would make this place perfect would be mimosas. It's cute, it's tiny, at the opening bell it fills up with older people, then gently filters into the yuppie types you would expect here, and it's FRIENDLY!! The servers are downright sweet! I asked the other server (not mine) for a refill on the water, apologizing because she's not my server - and she said "It's OK, we work together here." Seriously? That's downright unheard of (even in places that share tips!) Onto the food - There is a coffee bar for you to serve yourself, the muffins an scones looked AMAZING (OK, I'll admit, I cheated and ate part of one), the eggs I requested undercooked were a little more cooked than I wanted, but at least not crunchy. I can forgive that one, since most places are scared to serve it that underdone. The guy sitting at the table next to me chatting away gave rave reviews on the omelette (oh how I love getting out of Boston where people actually make conversation!). All in all - good food. Once again - I have to stress the fact that these ladies working here are SO WONDERFUL - even to the crazy old guy next to me who only tips a dollar. ;) Keep them!! It makes the place! read more

My girlfriend and I went there for lunch during work, came in about 12:10pm and ordered pancakes with tea... Got the tea in about 15min, the place was less than half full and they only had 1 cashier/waiter and I only saw 1 cook. Around 12:40 I asked where the food is and was told it would be ready in a minute, at 12:50 as my gf and I were walking out the waiter said that the pancakes are ready... But I just paid for the tea and extra tip and apologized. It shouldn't take 40 min to make pancakes especially if you call yourself a breakfast place. I am willing to give it another shot since from other reviewers the food is good... But I'll make sure I do not have to be anywhere anytime soon. read more

Christopher's Cafe, formerly of the South End is now Christopher's Cafe of the Diamond District and just one street away from the beach. Yay! The South End's loss is the Diamond District's gain. What a terrific addition to this Lynn neighborhood. Although there were a few men enjoying breakfast, this place is decorated to be a total chick haunt and hideout. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a catering menu. Though I only had one of their huge blueberry scones and a cup of light roast coffee, this place has the potential to be my new breakfast joint on the North Shore. Grab your picnic lunch from here and head to the beach with your cooler in tow when the weather warms. It's also a terrific place for writing, reading, and undisturbed working. There's plenty of natural light fluttering through floor to ceiling windows being reflected off of ripe, pineapple-yellow walls. P.S. They are closed on Mondays. read more
