I called the office, they requested the CT on a CD. The office manager and referring dentist talked to them a few times. I received the CD and called back for the appt. I show up for the appt, they tell me they don't have the referral and cannot open the CD. I told them they have talked to the referring desist a few times. The dentist talks to me a a rude demeaning tone, "the referral is a piece of paper." I understand that obviously. The referral should have been sent via email. And how can I make an appt without a referral. They take x-rays and asked me what tooth it was. I told them one of the uppers with the crown. I am obviously not a dentist and don't know the tooth number. They then tell me, without the referral and without knowing what tooth, they can't help me. So I walked out. I better not be charged! If you take the x-ray, you should be able to see in infected tooth. I had the overwhelming feeling of incompetence and will not be allowing them to work on my teeth. The whole experience was unpleasant. No one likes to go to the dentist, so when you encounter unprofessional and disrespectful staff all I could think was I needed to go somewhere else.

    6 weeks ago I spoke to their office manager for the Lafayette location and asked them to get a…read morepreauthorization for what they say they needed - a 3D scan - before scheduling the dental work. They committed to doing it. Today (11/18/25) I called because it's now 6 weeks, and I want to get the work done this policy year, and they did nothing. They told me it would be another 4-6 weeks to do it now. Then they informed me it was a courtesy for them to do it in the first place. The intake person said they "could just bill us in full and leave us to chase insurance coverage." I mentioned that I was surprised about their lack of understanding as dentist already greatly overbill for their work. I mentioned theirs was a service industry and the cavalier attitude really was off-putting. The receptionist told me she worked "many different jobs" and this was her normal operating procedure. No apologies at all they wasted 4-6 weeks of my time waiting for a pre-authorization that was never requested. This was, by far, the worst experience yet with a dental professional. Avoid these people at all cost.

    I have hated going to the dentist for anything since I was quite young. As such I haven't…read moreregularly been to the dentist for years, which was of course, destined to catch up to me. Finally returned to the dentist, and discovered I needed my first root canal. To say that made me anxious is a huge understatement; petrified would be closer. I can happily report that every aspect of the experience with Dr. David Aimar and his office staff is exemplary. They are caring, considerate, they listen to the client from the moment you walk in the door. There was no pain, nominal discomfort (and that was actually of my own making). They work with you very closely to ensure that everything that can be done for your comfort is being done. Without reservation, I recommend Dr. Aimar.

    His work was fantastic, and bedside manner beyond compare. The dental staff themselves were…read moreexcellent. My issue was that the office told me they preapproved the work with my insurance. Later, when my insurance covered exactly zero dollars, they said I must have had recent work done. I hadn't. When I called my insurance company, they told me that they had told the office that I did not have coverage remaining. So I'm stuck with a large bill I can't afford - I'm not from Walnut Creek. I'm guessing I am not their average Mercedes driving client. I was in a lot of pain, so not sure I would have had a better option, but to have been fully informed is so much better than being told your insurance will cover it only to have a massive bill and have to sweat paying rent. I know we as patients have some responsibility to know things, but insurance is often unclear to non-medical people. Medical offices deal with insurance every day. I have rarely done more than cleanings. This is new to me. I would hope a provider has their patients best interest in mind. It didn't feel like they did here.
