Two months ago, my general dentist informed me that my lower right wisdom tooth needed to be removed before it got impacted and silly me, I did not really prioritize it. Fast forward two months and just out of the blue, my wisdom tooth went from a dormant zero pain to an unbearable perfect 10 on the pain meter. Called their office and talked to Rosalind who was very understanding and compassionate about the pain situation and managed to fit me in that SAME day I called not just for consultation but for the surgery as well. Dr Rich explained the process and recovery management to me, and then that was it! He did the extraction and just like that, the problem was solved! The office has advanced tools, very clean and spacious. I think the practice is relatively newer and the doctor is young but don't get fooled, the doctor is expertly trained, very professional with a very friendly and capable staff.

I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at this oral surgery practice, particularly because…read moreof the lack of communication about both the expected recovery time and failure to review expectations based upon multiple X-rays that were required preoperatively. Before the procedure, we were specifically told to expect a recovery period of approximately 5-7 days. It wasn't until we were leaving after the procedure that we were told the recovery would actually be closer to a MONTH. That is a huge difference and information we absolutely needed to have beforehand in order to make an informed decision and plan appropriately. The doctor later acknowledged that he had failed to adequately communicate the expected recovery with us. We also specifically asked that any pathology be sent to an in-network lab to avoid unnecessary out-of-pocket expenses. We were told that this would be an option. Despite that conversation, the specimen was sent to an out-of-network lab anyway, resulting in an unexpected $395 bill. What makes this experience especially frustrating is that both issues were preventable with clear communication and appropriate follow-through. Patients should be able to rely on the information they are given when making decisions about a surgical procedure--including how long recovery is realistically expected to take and whether outside services will be covered by their insurance. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending this practice.
