I hadn't been to a dentist in 45 years. When I broke a tooth, I did some research and chose Dr. Graham because he is local and had taken over his father's practice. In my experience, this kind of dedication and tradition leads to superior service. I got a rush appointment within a week for a consultation and x-rays. I found Dr. Graham kind and welcoming. He made me comfortable, answered my questions, provided excellent service and helped me resolve my dental issues all at a reasonable price. He will install my first crown later this year. His office staff person was extremely unhelpful and quite rude. I'm a patient and have a broken tooth but she said that Dr. Graham couldn't see me for almost a month. Told me I should go see my brother-in-law since my notes said he's a dentist. I told her he lives in another state! Her tone made it clear that she didn't care - she said 'they're busy" and didn't even offer to put me on a wait list for cancellations. Told her I'd have to find someone else, which I did. Yo, Dr. Graham is the man. He's like the best dentist ever. Instead of asking you questions you can't answer because he's drilling your mouth he gives you a sick lecture of what's going on in your mouth. It's like getting a free seminar while you get your teeth cleaned! On a more serious note, Dr. Graham improved my quality of life. For over a decade my gums have bled every time I brushed my teeth. It was gross. My old dentist never seemed to have much of a solution for me, implying that I just wasn't brushing or flossing enough. On my first appointment with Dr. Graham, he explained (in fascinating detail) that my blood problem was being caused by calcium deposits on my teeth. He actually had to chisel them off my teeth. It hurt! There was ten+ years of build up, but he had the knowledge and tools to assist me with my problem. Next day, no more blood. I was actually pretty furious at my old dentist for quite a while. She either didn't understand my problem or couldn't afford the specialty chiseling tool necessary to help me and was playing dumb. I'm not sure what's worse. Dr. Graham helped me more in 45 minutes than she had in a decade. If you have any doubts that you might not be getting the best teeth care possible, I implore you to make a switch. Everything else about the place is quite nice. The teeth cleaners who work under Dr. Graham are also excellent and the office sends you like 15 reminders of your appointment. They also wished me a Happy Birthday I live in Palo Alto but drive the hour up to see Dr. Graham because, again, he's the man. You should use him, too. read more

I started with Mark Graham's father and he was very good, when he retired several years ago I switched to Mark and he is very good. He is thorough, honest and caring. I am a tough patient, numbing agents are more painful that the procedure (fillings, etc) so I go without and he is one of the few dentists who is willing to do procedures without numbing, I know it sounds crazy but needles in my gums are 100 times more painful for me than drilling and he is awesome. You may be shocked but I hadn't been to the dentist in a REALLY long time...as in many many (many!) years. I was kinda scared of dentists, I mean, the drilling, the sharp metal tools, the needles....BUT that has all changed thanks to the office of David & Mark Graham, DDS (father and son team). After much arm twisting and lets face it, complete bribery, I agreed to let my husband make me an appointment with his dentist whom he likes very much, Dr. David Graham. Well Dr. David Graham turned out not to be available so I was booked with Dr. Mark Graham, his son. Dr. Graham and his very friendly staff (especially his really sweet hygienist, I cant remember her name but she was blond) didn't make me feel bad for not seeing a dentist in so long. Instead they were respectful, professional, and nice. My cleaning was painless (and boy did my teeth look GOOD, I couldn't stop smiling) and even more surprising to me was that my filling, which included some drilling to remove an old filling, was completely painless and comfortable. Dr. Graham took time to explain what he was doing, so I always felt at ease. The office is in a quiet building and is very clean with ample parking. Dr. Graham Sr.(David) is retiring but not to worry, we are all in good hands with everyone in the office. I started seeing both Dr.'s as I didn't have a preference before insisting my husband switch dentists and then decided about 4 years ago the daughter was old enough to see a non-pediatric dentist. I also took my Gram to see Dr.Mark Graham (Jr.) for her dental exam and false teeth check up as she had been told by some quack in AZ she would need replacement dentures when she was 89(Dr. Graham assured her this wasn't the case). This has been my dental practice for about 7 years now and as long as I can continue to have the insurance we do, will continue on here. This is a low key office- no gas, no fancy pants TV's, waiting room or the other stuff you might find elsewhere. This is a great dental office from the office manager Lynn (who will do her best to get you on a waiting list if you need to be seen at a certain time) to the different hygienists we have all seen over the years. We have all been lucky thus far with no cavities or other dental emergencies but I know I will be able to trust without hesitation whatever the recommendation might be at the right time. I had my first appointment with Dr. Graham (David) today and came away impressed. Finding a new dentist is never easy or fun, but Dr. Graham made me feel welcome and spent a great deal of time on my routine cleaning (not that I have problems!) talking with me about my teeth and giving me recommendations for the future. I had been using a dentist that I was very happy with, but we moved out of the area and they also stopped accepting my insurance which sealed my decision to search for new dental care. Dr. Graham is amazing. I was told by my long time dentist that I needed a crown because my cavity was too large to fill. I got a recommendation to Dr. Graham for a second opinion and to my surprise, not only did I not need a crown, but I didn't even have a cavity! First, No one has asked me to put this review, NOT EVEN ONCE. I owe it to myself and to the community to share the best experiences. Second, I am sharing my treatment experience with Dr. Graham for the past 11 years. After I moved from San Ramon to Union City in 2009, due to central location and allergies, I continued on with Dr. Graham until August 2013. In August 2013, I changed dentist to another one closer to home. I went in for my first cleaning with Dentist in Union City, and was told I needed 6-7 fillings. They sent an estimate of $536 (out of pocket costs). I was surprised and contacted Dr. Graham's office for a second opinion. Mark was absolutely wonderful and did it no charge. What I was told by Dr. David Graham is "you don't need anything". All you do is get ACT, anti-cavity (fluoride rinse) and rinse it twice a day. He categorically mentioned there is no need for any fillings. where can you save $536 and prevent from getting your teeth spoiled? I rarely meet doctors who take their time and try to make sure that they truly understand the problem before providing a solution. We definitely need more medical professionals like Dr. Graham in the healthcare system! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. GRAHAM ( both David and Mark). He is so good at what he does and he makes it stress-free for the client. A few months back I broke off 2/3 of my tooth. I called up Dr. Graham's office and they got me in for an appointment the very next morning. I was expecting a crown, but Dr. Graham was able to reconstruct my tooth with a filling! Moving a lot in my adult years, I have experienced some pitiful dentists and some outstanding dentists, Drs David and Mark Graham tie in first place as the best. Prior to finding them, I was seen by another area dentist who told me I needed 3 old fillings replaced immediately. (tiny fillings) That would require three one hour appointments. Odd that my former out of state dentist who taught at the Univ. of Michigan Dental School hadn't mentioned that he was watching those teeth at my appointment 6 months prior. After being referred to the Drs Graham, I was back in excellent hands. Three 1/2 years later those "bad" fillings are still good and I am confident in the care I receive from each of the fine people in the practice. I am a squeamish dental patient and have had lots of issues. I've been to many that don't listen, don't care, and do sub par work. I would highly recommend Dr. Mark Graham. He actually listens to his patients, and he cares. He also has a good referral pattern to an endodontist and oral surgeon--very important if you have complex dental issues. His office staff is so nice to work with, June usually answers the phone and is wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate taking your kids to him either. He really gives that "old time" feel of a doctor that treats the whole family, and he actually knows who you are, and he cares. Both David and Mark Graham are the best dentists I have ever had. They are meticulous and take their time to make sure the job is done right. I was so used to other dentists being in a rush I once asked Mark if he had to go see other patients after spending 30 minutes with me on a routine check up, he said they were being taken care of and that there was no rush....WOW. They both take the time to explain everything to you so that you're not in the dark about your treatment. I once had an X-ray done at another dentists office, and the dentist said I had a small cavity; I was doubtful so I took the X-rays to Mark. Mark took the time to take another set of X-rays and then found that the small dark spot the other doctor called a cavity was due to slightly incorrect x-ray photography and that my tooth was fine!
