I asked Jan questions about what I could do to improve my brushing and flossing techniques. Following Jan's recommendations will markedly help my personal dental care. As someone who has avoided dentists for years at a time due to bad experiences, Dr. O'Grady has been a life saver for me. He was attentive and personable, and really took the time to get to know me, my dental history, and my teeth. There was zero judgement from Dr. O'Grady or any of his amazing staff, and they worked with me to get my teeth back on track as painlessly as possible (and it really was surprisingly painless). Since my initial appointment and cleaning, I've been back to the office to get some previous dental work fixed. Dr. O'Grady knew I had an unpleasant experience before, and he continually reassured me that if at any point I felt pain or was dissatisfied with the look of the teeth I should speak up and he'd work with me. Dr. O'Grady stayed true to his word, and though the pain was minimal, there were a few moments when I needed a break and I felt completely comfortable asking for them. He went above and beyond to ensure my teeth looked and felt perfect, and made it clear if anything wasn't to my satisfaction he'd be more than happy to have me back in for touch ups. Dr O'Grady is a dentist you can trust and who is very gentle, patient and kind. I have been going to his office for years and would never think of going anywhere else. I have been a patient of Dr. O'Grady's since approximately 2008 when he took over the practice from Dr. Sada. That was a big change for me after 25 years with one dentist and staff. it was a seamless transition in every respect and not an easy situation because I had preexisting oral care issues due to cancer. I drive from SF to my home town of Danville to see Dr. O'Grady (no small feat given our increasingly nightmarish Bay Area traffic;) Reasons being: He is an excellent dentist, he's honest and is a generally likable human being. He doesn't up-sell, which is huge for me coming from the city where everything is an up-sell. I see orthodontists and periodontists as well, requiring that Dr. O'Grady integrate with them - he has become a trusted voice of reason when navigating through their oftentimes conflicting recommendations. His staff is phenomenal - lovely and genuine and sharp - and Peggy's cleanings are the most gentle I've ever undergone.
