Dr. Koehler has been my family's dentist since moving to the area a handful of years ago, and she's been my first adult dentist. I have a really "traumatic" history with the dentist when I was little, I've always hated it and had an uncomfortable time. My childhood dentist was great given my youth circumstances, but Melanie has made my adult dentist visits heal the experiences I've had in the past. I had a filling done just a couple days ago and I felt very taken care of. She narrated what she was doing and was very empathetic and understanding of how I was feeling -- not even knowing my history. Her assistant Danika was very friendly and conversational and helped with easing the nerves. I'm really grateful for the compassionate and empathetic service. I live in the South Bay now but will be making the commute because of the care and community I see in the office that makes dentist visits something to look forward to rather than dread. Dr. Koehler has been our family dentist for years. She is always professional, patient and caring towards all of us.

For awhile it was ok. Billing department leaves something to be desired. I went to Dr Koehler for years until I ended up going elsewhere and the dentist pointed out the less than three year old fillings that were filled with tooth decay and found that she basically ruined my teeth. It's highly disturbing and disappointing that someone you trust with something as important as your teeth would do this type of hack job. read more

I haven't been to the dentist in a long time (embarrassed to say) but finally decided to suck it up and go. Dr. Koehler and staff are great. Love that it's near by work and home and Kristina who worked on my teeth was so amazing she was very sweet, gentle and personable. Made it easy to want to go back. No more excuses for this girl. Dr. Koehler and her staff are exceptional. They take away the anxiety of going to the dentist making it as pleasant as it can be with their warm and cheerful approach to treating patients. The office is warm, inviting and spotless. Their selection of reading material is satisfactory, waiting room seating is comfortable and parking is usually easy, however, Dr. Koehler and everyone who works there are a step above any other dental practice I've every visited. I'm sure that most people can agree that finding a great dentist is the equivalent to finding a unicorn. Well Dr Melanie Kohler is that unicorn. I am very hesitant to go to the dentist because of all of the horrible experiences I've been through over the years. Put it this way, every tooth in my mouth either has a filling a root canal or a crown. Many of which have been retreated more than once. I have no hesitation when it comes time for my appointments with Dr Kohler. She goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and I've never felt any pain during or after any of my appointments. I changed insurance a few years back and had to go to a different dentist who botched a few more root canals and crowns. I finally gave in and called her and setup an appointment even though she wasn't in network and I'm so glad I did. I definitely don't mind paying more out of pocket to get the best dental treatment money can buy. She even offered to help me get my money back from the other dentist. Such a sweetheart. She truly cares about her patients! I can't wait for my next appointment! Thank you Dr. Kohler! if I could give 100 stars I would! read more

I've read great reviews for this dentist, but will never know if true since I've not been able to get past the front desk. I have called the office several times over the last 3 years and no luck getting in. Although Dr. Koehler is listed as a provider for United Concordia for Chevron, she is not taking new patients. Nor for Delta Dental. Receptionist says she is only taking new patients with Guardian or MetLife, so spare yourself the effort of calling if you have any other coverage. Just wish her "no new patients" status was stated on her website and updated on the insurance provider pages. I'm a bit disappointed since she was highly recommended and we only live two miles away with all of our other doctors and labs located in the same complex. read more

Love Dr. Koehler! She is sweet and gentle. The staff is friendly. The office is nice and clean. She uses the latest technology. Very thorough with exams and procedures. She doesn't recommend anything unless it's necessary. I had front crowns replaced by her and they came out beautiful! Couldn't ask for a better dentist! read more

I can not say enough about Dr. Koehler and her staff!! My family (including my 2 kiddos) have been going to her for several years. She has a very conservative approach, which we appreciate after being taken for suckers at other offices!! Going to the dentist can be like going to a mechanic. Except, with your teeth there is no trade-in! Her office looks like I wish my home did: clean and nicely decorated! My kids love her too and there is never a fight to get them to go. The office is very clean, nicely decorated, and the staff is always friendly. We weren't really happy with our previous dentist. I've been going to Dr Koehler for years. I have always loved her. She's great with my anxiety, and horrible teeth. My old hygienist was a rockstar. However this past time I went in things were very different. I had a temp hygienist do my cleaning as the regular one called in sick. That's fine. But he couldn't recommend a dental floss or tooth brush that would be good for my mouth. I hadn't been in, in over a year. No photos taken. No checking my gums (where they call out the numbers). Dr Koehler came in for less than 2 mins. Literally looked in my mouth. No poking, prodding, digging with her instruments. Nothing. Very odd. It seemed like she was in a rush to get out. Also... no goodie bag. This was so beyond different from every visit I've had prior. I left feeling uneasy about my teeth (I'm cavity prone) and worried that next time I'm going to be hit with a ton of things. Not sure I'll be going back. read more

Dr. Koehler is the best of the best! ! For years my entire family has claimed she is ours; even my son comes up from L.A. to her. Our entire office staff goes to her. She is not only the best dentist, she is truly awesome. Last night (Friday night), I broke a crown. I called her emergency number which is on the recording for after hours. I am not a person that even slightly enjoys the dentist. In fact, give me the choice between shoulder surgery and a simple dental cleaning, I'd choose the former. Enter Dr. Koehler...I was referred by a friend and I have to say, EVERYONE at this office is so incredible! Dr. Koehler herself is an absolutely lovely person. She is very gentle, confident and down to earth. She always has a huge smile on her face as though she is honestly happy to see you. She is extremely genuine. She obviously holds her hygienists to the same standards as herself because they all have the same warm, gentle and caring personality. I cannot recommend this dentist enough. She is one of a kind!
