This Texas snowstorm was really ruff. But seriously it was. One of the good things that came out of it was that these 3 dogs became new best friends (out of necessity). But it wasn't easy, and our journey started far before this week. Drago (my dog, bottom right) has a lot of fear, which sometimes presents itself as aggression. Specifically towards other dogs. And it has been like this for a long time. But we have been working with Chris from @instinctualbalance for a few months and the results have been incredible. My girlfriend and I had a lot of concern that these 3 might not be able to get along. But here we are. #photoshopfree #nofilter -- Living under the same roof all week, and the best of pals. This 100% would not have happened without Chris from @instinctualbalance helping us through this journey.

Update: we continue to use souls for paws for on going adventures and overnights! There's no one we trust more than Chris with our dogs! We hired Souls for Paws when we adopted a rescue Rottweiler 8month old pup in addition to our previously adopted Pitbull who had some major previous trauma. When the trainer first came the Rottie actually tensed up and growled I was shocked but it made me even more glad I hired them. Since that point our rottie has become much more confident from being initially leash aggressive, cowering sometimes when meeting new people or being petted and peeing when we came home or meeting new people, to a much more balanced dog. She does wonderfully meeting new people and dogs. We now know how best to exhaust her mind and body so she isn't chewing on furniture and whatever else she can find. She hasn't had an accident in weeks. The pitbull has been learning obedience and has become much calmer when greeting new people and handles crating much better as well. As owners we also have a better understanding of our dogs behavior now and we feel more confident working with them and reinforcing the training. I can't recommend Souls for Paws enough

Chris has been phenomenal with our dog! We had adopted our dog and it was a challenge to deal with her bad habits. Things have changed and we are grateful!

First meeting Emily she took the time to not only get to know the in and outs of the issues with my pups but took the time to get to know me. We sat and talked for over an hour. Emily took notes and made sure to reassure me that she would send everything to me in an email so I wasn't overwhelmed. She then worked with my pups and demonstrated the tools I would be using. She was never negative about the issues with my dogs. Within the next couple of days I received the email instructions and I was so thankful. I started using the training instructions and my dogs showed REMARKABLE PROGRESS! My baby girl Georgia developed leash aggression and I was afraid to take her on walks because she would get into "arguments" with other dogs and people. I used the training diligently and I noticed an immediate change. I also used Emily's other tips like leaving the TV on for them while I was at work, letting them enjoy their walks by sniffing and not trying to pull them away and playing more games with them. My dog's attitudes completely changed. By the next time Emily came around they were like different puppies. There was so much harmony and happiness I was thrilled! I am incredibly grateful to Emily and her expertise with training. She's continually giving me praise but she's the one who deserves the praise. I HIGHLY recommend having Emily train your pups!

We called Emily, who met with us for almost an hour and a half. She came up with an individual training plan for Shaggy as well as helped us trouble shoot problem areas such as the elevator. We have been working with Shaggy for about a month and I already can see improvements. We now can walk on the other side of a street from a dog without him even caring. She has also helped come up with a "management plan," that involves finding escape routes and what to do when Shaggy does react. The best part about Emily is that she always makes herself available to help. Whenever I have a question I can text her and get a ready reply. On multiple occasions she has also been a great person to lean on and talk to when Shaggy has a large blow up. She even said that her job is one part dog trainer one part human trainer/councilor. She also lets me meet with her a few times a week in order to use her dog for practice sessions with Shaggy. Over this past month I have gone from frustration and embarrassment with my dog to pride and excitement over Shaggy's improvement. I can tell that he is much happier and less stressed on walks as well. I cannot thank Emily enough for all her help, and I HIGHLY recommend her for any type of dog training (especially leash reactivity).

Bella is a very sweet and loving dog but she barked aggressively when anyone came near our door, let alone knock/ring bell. Any change made her nervous and jumpy. A visit to the vet would cause anxious behavior for a week after each appointment. Other dogs made her nervous even though we had socialized her from a very young age. When walking she would stiffen whenever another dog or children were near by us. We have always exercised Bella a lot and that helped but never eliminated these issues. Then I read about the Fort Collins Dog Wizard online. I was just hoping to improve her quality of life a little... I never imagine or dreamed of the results we would get. Cullen did a house visit to assess Bella. He sat at our house talking calmly to me about Bella and her personality the entire time he ignored Bella. After the first ten minutes, she was begging for his attention but he still let her have her space. I couldn't believe the calming presence he brought and he hit all her scary buttons (a man with a hat). After talking to me, he said he thought they could absolutely help her. We sent her to them for three weeks and she worked primarily with Maddy. We visited Bella a week into the training, we got our first training session, and we were already amazed. When we picked her up at the end of the three weeks, we received more training and very clear and strict instructions on how to continue the work. Maddy visited us at our home in the coming weeks to assess Bella and help answer any questions we had on techniques or progress. Once you've been through the program there are graduate classes that you and your dog can attend for free every Saturday as well as a Facebook group for graduates to share/ask questions and you can always contact Cullen, Jess, or Maddy. Six months ago we had a dog that freaked out if a car door closed outside our house, UPS truck drove by, or anyone came to our house. Last week on Halloween our doorbell rang and door was knocked on all night and not one peep from Bella. She sat quietly on her place and enjoyed her evening. We have dinner parties with lots of loud laughing and moving about and she calmly lays on her bed until we let her come off and then she enjoys the attention from our friends. Her quality of life is so much better and now everyone can see her sweet and loving personality instead of a barking, scared dog. My only regret was not finding the Dog Wizard sooner. When we adopt our next dog, they will be the first phone call I make after adoption.

Now at 9 months old, after 6 lessons and weeks of practice, practice, practice, he is a different dog. I never thought there could be such a difference in a dog in such a short time. Jesse was afraid of so much. He had to learn how to go up and down stairs and be comfortable riding in a car. Every noise on a walk startled him -- birds, cars, loud noises, other dogs, people, everything. Walking with him was a horrible experience. He pulled and sniffed constantly, lunged at people and other dogs. Nothing I did was helping because I had no idea of what to do. He wasn't much better in the house. He had no boundaries. He would not stay in one place for any length of time. He couldn't be in the backyard because he constantly ate the mulch and chewed holes in the grass. Thank goodness I found Jack! All of that has changed - in 3 months! Because of what Jack has taught me, I now am able to successfully communicate with my dog and help him gain the confidence he needs to be his best self. His energy has mellowed since he no longer has the need to take control of everyone and everything. His walks are enjoyable - even off leash. Yes, Jesse can be off leash and we hike the trails in Boulder. He comes when called and he will walk beside me with no leash if I ask him to. It's really unbelievable. There are so many things I could tell you about my amazing dog and what he can do. But you can experience it yourself if any of this sounds familiar. If you are willing to put in the time to work with you dog and do what Jack or Alex tells you, I have every reason to believe you will have great results. My daughter worked with Alex and followed her advice. She was certain her dog would never stop chasing rabbits and squirrels or be trusted off leash as well as numerous other problems. After 3 months, she too has had amazing results and now a well-behaved dog. We hike together -- with our dogs off leash. I continue to use the foundation, techniques, and education Jack provided as I continue training with Jesse. There is always room for improvement and new things for both of us to learn. I really could not have managed Jesse without Jack's help. I will always be grateful.

Two of them are my problem children: a Rottweiler mix foster fail who is reactive to bikes and other dogs and occasionally nervous around people like visiting contractors or UPS men, and the other is a 100+ lb Brazilian mastiff rescue from Aruba who is not fond of other dogs. The two of them began showing increasingly worse dog aggression toward other dogs on the trail and while camping, and had attacked several dogs by the time I found Loyal Hound/Juliet. I was at my wit's end, because I had already spent thousands of dollars and tried everything including other trainers at that point with little to no progress. I felt stuck with 2 big problems for the next 6-8 years. I hike at least 3 miles every single day off leash on the trails by my house, and I love to camp with my dogs in the summer, but they became such a liability that walks became stressful and camping became impossible. I finally found Juliet with Loyal Hound, and for our very first session we met at a crowded park and were going to be doing off leash training right away. I was so nervous -- all the triggers were present: other people with dogs on leashes, dogs off leashes, people on bikes, squirrels -- so I was absolutely AMAZED when we were walking my Rottweiler off leash through a gaggle of geese, past people on bikes, and past other dogs within a few minutes with no problems. It was nothing short of a miracle. Within a few sessions, I had both of my dog aggressive dogs walking on and off leash next to me, passing other dogs (sometimes dogs that were even barking at them) on trails safely with no reactivity. I cannot explain in words how much of a difference this has made in my life -- I feel like I got my life back. If you have a dog aggressive dog, this is the place to go. It's WELL worth the investment, and you will be amazed at the difference you will see in your dog. Thank you Loyal Hound & Juliet!!
