I sent a contact message checking to see what was available, hoping to find someone good who could help me. Got a message back from Jonathan, asking what I was looking for. I explained my situation to him and he actually stayed after his day was done to fit me in. I wanted to see who he was and his experience, but he wasn't listed on the salon's website, so I googled him and found a review. It was an excellent review and I was so excited it would be someone who has great experience. I get to the salon and Jonathan was finishing up with the young lady before me. He did an amazing job on her hair and I knew I was in the right spot. All I can say is Jonathan knows hair, everything about hair. He did an amazing job coloring and cutting my hair with such precision. I immediately felt very comfortable with Jonathan. He's a great guy, with a heart of gold. So I figured they did good mens cuts. They do. I was the only guy in this place and asked them to trim me up. Told the salon woman I was going to be taking my girl out for a big night and wanted to be fresh. Let me tell you I was going to pick her up at the trailer and take her out for a drink. Surprise her with some new clothes and shoes too from Fran's. Well let me get back to my hair cut. The pretty salon woman told me she would only cut my hair if she washed it first. Good thing because I had a sewer problem at the house earlier that week and couldn't take a shower for about that time. You know I could take short ones but not enough to shampoo my hair. It must have been pretty greasy and I must have smelled ripe. We got talking about my big buy at Frans dress shop and as the salon woman trimmed and cut and shaped my hair into the perfect mullet: long in the back and short everywhere else. She must do a lot of these. Anyways the hair cut was one of the best I've had since doing it myself with the Flowbee from 1988 so it looks good. The salon is clean, tidy, and stocked with a variety of good-quality products that Caren neither under- nor over-uses. Caren actually cut my hair dry first (something no one has done before, but something I'll inquire about from now on) and only once she was mostly done washed, did a little tidying, dried, and VOILA: I have a haircut that settled perfectly day-of and, more importantly, has settled perfectly every day since. I'm low-fuss when it comes to my hair (I wash with a little shampoo and ton of conditioner, and maybe use little leave-in coconut oil before air-drying, but that's about it). Caren's cut works perfectly for my normal minimal-maintenance days, and frames my face more nicely on days when I play a bit. Best yet, Caren's cut cost half of what a comparable job in San Fran would cost! If only I could take her back to the Bay with me, I'd have Caren cut my hair forever.

My hair didn't hold the perm past the first few days, with some waves. However, Bethuny was able to layer it in such a way that the waves came back up and styled it so that I would get a sense of how to restore the perm. Wow... Pure magic. My hair is as thick and straight as it gets so I didn't think it was possible, but she managed to think her way around it. Everyone complimented my hair, she gave it a lot of volume through the cut. I've also gone in for a free color consultation, which I highly recommend and doesn't hurt. It takes 10-15 minutes. She educated me on a lot of basics of coloring so that we could communicate with it. Bethuny gave me a very clear picture of what I would have to do in order to achieve certain various tones and consulted me on the best decision combinations in order to keep my hair healthy. Not to mention I'm a huge fan of the decor and DIY punk and rockabilly vibes. If only I had the funds, I would definitely go to Glamourama for color. The prices are reasonable, it seems, for the job they do. I've seen their work and am astounded. If I lived closer, I would come for frequent cuts.
