Pratt Brother’s Christmas - Train ride

Pratt Brother’s Christmas

I went with family on the first night it opened last week and we had a pretty fun experience. The…read moreparking lot is big and they had parking attendants showing you where to park. The person who scanned our tickets was friendly and she greeted us as we walked in. Once inside, we explored it all. It was a pretty busy night but we were able to see it all. The train ride was the highlight of the night and they did a great job on each theme. The ligth show was also pretty cool and unique. The snow show was a fail at 7:30pm but when we went back to a later time, it finally worked. The miniature houses were super cute and we were able to take pics with Mrs. Claus. We bought three hot chocolates and they were good. The parade was small but cute!

Rawhide has a wonderful setting with its old Western buildings, which creates an amazing and…read morenostalgic atmosphere the moment you walk in. Mrs. Santa was sweet, friendly, and perfectly in character, and the roaming Gingerbread Man added a fun, playful touch. Both characters took their time with the kids and were great for photo opportunities. The train ride was also a highlight--fun, well-designed scenes, and somehow there's a sweet scent that drifts in here and there, which genuinely impressed us. Entertainment overall was good, but difficult to locate. Aside from the main light show--which is truly the showstopper and absolutely amazing--it wasn't clear where anything else was happening. There is food available, and it's probably great, but it's tucked away in tents/food trucks near the entrance with little visibility. Apparently Santa was taking photos as well, but we walked right past the area without realizing it because there was no signage. The gun show was also positioned next to Santa's area, again without clear signs, making it hard to understand what was happening. In fairness, maps are available, and I'm sure they explain everything, but better signage and use of the existing buildings would have made the experience much more engaging. There is a cozy firepit area where you can make s'mores (sold at $9 for two), which was a cute touch. For us, the evening was enjoyable but not worth the $25 Groupon price. Based on the advertising, we expected much more elaborate lighting throughout--similar to the quality of the main light show at the end of the street. The light parade, in particular, did not meet the level of production suggested in the Pratt Brothers' promotions. Overall, it was fun, but we will not be returning.

DO NOT USE AZ HOLIDAY LIGHTING! Worst experience with a service company I have ever had. We paid…read moreover $1k to have green lights installed on our cactus. Half of the lights were white. I emailed to have fixed, no reply for 3 days. They came out to fix. Lights on the house kept going out because the timer was bad, they had to come out again to fix. We constantly had issues. The worst part, THEY PUT A HOLE IN OUR ROOF WHEN FIXING THE LIGHTS!! There was a foot sized hole on the roof, exactly where they put the ladder to install. The hole caused leak in garage and water gushing thru from recent heavy rains!! We had to fix it and asked the owner of AZ Holiday Lighting to pay for partial or refund our money. She said, "There is absolutely no way possible that we had anything to do with your roof and if we did, it's states in our contract that we have a right to fix it first". Do not use!!!

This year my husband is working out of state so we needed someone to install lighting. I found AZ…read moreHoliday Lighting and saw they had some good reviews. The person returned my call promptly and was out that weekend for an estimate. I told them I wanted LED lights as we had a choice between those or the traditional lights. She took my 25% down and they came to install the day before Thanksgiving. The people who came out to install seemed nice and the install was quick. Well that night the lights didn't come on, found out the timer was broke. Then when we turned them on they were not the LED we paid for and some strands were not working and there is a ton of broken bulbs. I have called and left FOUR voicemails. I know they have received my calls because their voicemail message has changed. I was told the day the lady gave an estimate they would be out the next day to replace broken/ none working strands if we had any. What a joke. I am very upset with this service. It's my kids first Christmas with their dad not here and thanks to them we can't even have the Christmas lights we paid for. Don't trust this company because obviously they only care about the money and not the quality of work. And to add to my review I noticed on the contract they didn't put what lights I wanted (tricky) luckily for me I have a camera who recorded our whole convo and clearly stated I wanted LED and how they would be out right away to fix the lights if not working. So I'll just be taking them to small claims and getting my money back.
