This is long overdue. We had our flooring and stairs project completed with Abbey Carpet in early…read moreAugust. Prior to that, there was a lot of back and forth on what we we wanted to install. David Rodriguez was patient with our choices and knowledgeable about their products. Moreover, and I hope I'm not setting the bar too high for your future clients, David, but he seemed always available and quickly responded to our texts during the entire project. This was also true when the job was done. I judge a business or service not on how easy the project was completed but, when challenges emerge or the outcome is less than perfect. Maybe we're just picky... David was quick to respond and address our concerns. This is true of the installation crew that David used. Julio Alvarado and his sons, Franklin and Kevin, worked together like a well-oiled machine and finished before expected. Franklin returned to our home in a timely manner to correct the imperfections that we pointed out. Would definitely do business with them again and recommend them to others.

Then all of that changed once i signed the contract and gave then my deposit. Then david's lies began He told me my project would cost more because i had a sleep number bed. Then he said based on my measurements, he would not have enough baseboard and he wanted to come over and measure everything. Wow, he lied right to my face, trying to make it look like my project was more sq footage than it was. I immediately confronted him. He remeasured that part and my measurements were right, not his. Then when i asked for the numbers of the other parts of the room he measured, he refused. All i got the next day was that my square footage was good. It took in person, phone calls and a text message in order for me to get those measurements from him. and by then, he could have changed his numbers to match mine. When the workers arrived, they demanded to take over my house like it was their house or they were going to leave, with all the flooring i already paid for still in their van. Since they did not want me in room with them while they were working, i set up ring cameras. four times they turned the ring camera so it would not be facing them. i demanded that this is my house, i have around 15 ring cameras both indoors and outdoors, normally to watch my dogs, and they are not to touch my ring cameras. then they threaten to leave again On the second day, they broke a shelving unit in the closet, but they denied, denied, denied. No wonder they don't want to be watched. i told them i had the evidence. It took them about 2 hours for them to start showing responsibility, but was still try to take the blame away from themselves. i called Abbey and a person who said his name was Peter Wolk CEO and president. i then asked him if he own the entire Abbey company or was he just a franchise owner. he then admitted he was a franchise owner. i had called to tell him about the damage to my property at which time he began screaming at me on the phone saying that the damage was no big deal, and he was not going to have it fixed. Right away, my mind started to turn to filing a CSLB complaint with the state. i have had recent success in getting a business license revoked and the three people associated with the company unable to get another state license. But the lies from Abbey workers continued. The workers were saying things that were absolutely not true. i told them, i no longer trust anything that comes from their mouths. but they would not stop.I kept on saying prove it, but the refused. Next stop will be the BBB, and after that will be the CSLB. Oh yeah, Peter Wolk threatened me talking about a yelp review i had written, but i had not written any reviews until now. Abbey company cannot to trusted, have already beven proven to be dishonest. This business is actually quite scary once you sign their contract. i have been taking photos since the very beginning, which surprisingly shows very poor workmanship i will be posting the photos once i am done with the project They also wrap my curtains in a knot and then tie it up with numerous cords. Curtains are now damaged. They put the Directv box and multiple cords under the most heaviest of furniture. It took about an hour to get it out from under there, and to unwrap the cords. There has been so much bad workmanship, i have been wondering if it is intentional orchestrated by Favid, since i literally caught him in lies with numerous ring cameras near by, to hear what he was saying.. i took a picture of a panel they installed that part of the exterior was scaped off. it was against a wall. I am so glad I took that pictures. I also noticed that they were putting numerous all most full size flooring panels in their trash bucket. When I checked a few times, they looked damaged. It appears the slicer the worker was using was damaging panels.

Moises came out, immediately identified what types of wood were used and what work would need to be done, and gave a very fair quote promptly. He was even able to identify an obscure type of wood used on one of my moldings that needed replacement - he really knows his stuff. His team was incredibly diligent and did a magnificent job bringing the floor back to its former glory days. They were done ahead of schedule, left the job site immaculately clean, and I couldn't be happier with the work. Moises was always professional and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to perfection. If you need any type of flooring work done, look no further!

Most importantly, they did not try to force me into their plan and instead customized the project per my actual need. Moises also guided me to better quality material than found at big-box retailers, for longevity of the work done. The quality and value of the work and customer-focus was terrific.

So our decision to have Craig and his crew do our current project was easy. We knew it would be done to our satisfaction and it turned out absolutely over the top beautiful. From the tear out to the finishing touches everything was done very professionally. We had a designer help us with the layout for the master bathroom. We had a plan, but Craig suggested some functional changes in the design; some things that designers sometimes don't consider which contributed to the final layout. We went with the changes that Craig suggested in the tile layout as he obviously had the experience and knew what he was talking about. He explained everything he did and listened to any concerns we had and answered all our questions. My wife and I are perfectionists and in the end the craftsmanship of Craig and his crew exceeded our expectations. A month later we had Gonzales Tile do our guest bathroom! And that came out equally as beautiful as the master bath. When it comes to choosing a tile contractor you don't want to cut corners. A good one is half tile setter and half artist. I highly recommend Gonzales Tile for your tile project.

Although the repair was neither simple nor inexpensive, S&G handled the situation professionally, promptly, and without hesitation. A special thank you to Mike Menacho for his exceptional customer service and for seeing the issue through to a successful resolution. It's refreshing to work with a company that truly stands behind its products and customers. A measuring technician came out, took all the dimensions, and directed us to the 1020 W. San Carlos location to review their full carpet selection. At the store, we explained what we were looking for, compared carpet features and pricing, and worked with Dominic--who was very accommodating. His total project cost was competitive with the other quotes we received. We also wanted new baseboards that would match our freshly painted walls and trim. Dominic arranged to have the primed (but unpainted) 16' wood baseboards delivered ahead of installation, giving us time to paint everything before the carpet went in. Tip Our new carpet and pad are very soft and plush--great underfoot, especially on the stairs. Because the new flooring sits higher than the original laminate, our bedroom doors needed to be trimmed by about half an inch. We cut the doors ourselves, but it's worth asking whether your installer can include that as part of the project. Pros * Dominic is a true carpeting professional--he anticipated our needs and offered thoughtful guidance throughout the process. * Both the wood and carpet installation teams did solid, quality work. Cons * Some door trim was scuffed as the installers maneuvered large carpet rolls through our narrow hallway and doorways, so a bit of repainting was needed afterward.
