I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Thai in June 2023. It's not easy deciding & changing dentists. Dr. Thai is very thorough and really cares about your oral health. When I walked in, I was confident that she would tell me that my gums and teeth were in good health. After a thorough cleaning, she told me that I had plaque build up & my gums were inflamed. Certainly not what I wanted to hear. She had some Oral B Series 9 IO toothbrushes. I asked her what her patients thought of them and their experience. She said it's really improved their oral health. I do have an Oral B electric brush at home, but not this one. I decided that it was worth a try. I spent the first 3 weeks getting use to it and pressing all the buttons. By the first month, I can tell that my gums were less inflamed. It's been 3 months and it's time for my cleaning. Dr. Thai really noticed an improvement in my gums and less plaque! My iPhone leans against the backsplash with the toothbrush app on. I didn't need a new toothbrush, but if this helps I'm worth it! I'm so glad Dr. Thai introduced me to the pink Oral B IO! Dr. Christine Thai has been my dentist since 2012, so it's about time I wrote a review. Just recently, I started grinding my teeth at night hard enough to the point where they would hurt the next day, and my molar actually started to come loose. So it was time to get a mouthguard, and I went to Dr. Thai to get impressions of my teeth done. Well, it turns out my teeth are slightly off-center from my midline, which caused the impressions to appear crooked at first, so she took a few additional impressions in order to make sure that it really was my teeth and not her that was causing this. She also called the lab (where they make the mouthguard) to make sure they understood my unusual situation, and sent them the extra impressions so that they would have more to work with in trying to get the closest fit. Fast forward 2 weeks and I took home my brand new mouthguard to try it out. It sounds weird because I never thought I would be so happy with a dental appliance, but I absolutely love this thing. It fit perfectly on the first try, and all my bottom teeth rest flat on it, which means she didn't even need to take any material off to make it fit better. I've already created some nice grind marks on it, and my teeth don't hurt anymore. I also went back after 1 week of use to check if any additional adjustments were required on the mouthguard, but we determined that it's fine the way it is. I chalk a lot of it up to the fact that she took extra care to ensure she was getting a precise impression of my teeth, and that she took the time to communicate with the lab about my particular case. Extremely satisfied with my mouthguard-- HUGE props and thumbs up to Dr. Thai and also the lab who made it!! -------- I'll also mention that she's part of a network of dental specialists that I would totally trust. I've had my wisdom teeth pulled as well as 2 crowns done in the past, and the specialists whom she referred me to also demonstrated the same high standards of professionalism and detail-oriented care that I have come to expect after coming to Dr. Thai for so many years. read more

I had a decent experience with Dr. Thai. For my discomfort from overcrowding, the recommended treatment was to extract teeth & then go to an orthodontist for braces/Invisalign. Those teeth were perfectly healthy though, & I wanted to extract the one causing me pain. They agreed to perform it (& were also fine if I didn't want any teeth extracted). I've had no problems since. The cleaning sessions were also pretty gentle & thorough compared to my other experiences. read more

For years I have been begging Dr. Thai to get a Yelp account because I've been dying to tell the world what an incredible dentist she is! Hands down, she is the very best in the South Bay. Here's why: 1. She is knowledgeable, intuitive, and ultra-thorough. My husband has bad teeth. For 25 years, his dentists only fixed the symptoms of his problem by doing root canal after root canal. Enter Dr. Thai. She recognized that the source of his dental issues was teeth grinding. She recommended a mouth guard to wear at night, and our lives have never been the same. (Dramatic, I know, but true!) All the teeth he cracked through the years and the sinus problems he suffered could have been avoided. Seriously, I thank God for Dr. Thai! 2. She sees you as a person, not just another appointment. Dr. Thai and her hygienist Susan are so warm and caring, I consider them friends. When my husband and I went through a period of time when we were struggling financially, Dr. Thai guided us through by not insisting we get expensive treatments done right away. She helped us prioritize our needs. However, she did speak up if our health would have suffered by waiting any longer. She put our individual needs ahead of making money for herself. I've been going to Dr. Thai for a couple of years, and she had been the best. Since I moved here 7 years ago, I've gone to different dentist that I was not even closed to being happy with. Once I found to Dr Thai I have been going to her and I think I will till she retires (I hope not soon). She is very gentle, and explains everything with detail. She is not money hungry like the other dentists I visited and she really cares about her patients. Susan, her assistant is great as well. Susan is always very gentle. I used to have very sore gums for days with other dentists, but after leaving Dr. Thai, it just lasts about an hour or less. She's wonderful. read more

I strongly disagree with Peter Z. I doubt that his review is for Dr Thai. I've been with Dr. Thai for 2 years and she never did what Peter Z has described. Dr. Thai is not a pushy person, I don't believe she would repeatedly up-sell unnecessary procedures to her patients. She is professional, knowledgable, skillful, experienced, down to earth, sincere, friendly. There are a lot of great values I found on her as an outstanding dentist. Christine is very friendly and really nice, but she recommended that I get my fillings replaced and get braces. She said both were important, because my fillings were too old and w/o braces my overcrowded teeth could eventually cause my teeth to crack. Neither the dentist I have now nor the one I had before Christine ever said this. Not sure if Christine is just extra cautious, made a mistake, or is trying to drum up more business (it's also possible that my dentist now and my former dentist both suck but I doubt both of them messed up). read more

I had a great experience at Dr. Thai's office. I switched dentists because my insurance changed and was happy to find out Dr. Thai's office took my insurance. I received a standard check up - exam, cleaning and xrays. Her staff and Dr. Thai herself were very kind and knowledgeable with the questions I asked while receiving my exam. Dr. Thai was very educational throughout the whole process. I will definitely go back as use Dr. Thai as my regular dentist. I went to Dr. Thai after not seeing a dentist for over 10 years. Rather than scold me as many dentists would have, she worked with me to set up a well reasoned plan on how to get my teeth back to where they should be. She has been very easy to work with, giving me help on getting insurance coverage, etc. She is also very gentle even though I know I'm not the easiest patient to deal with. Christine did an ok job on deep cleaning. But she constantly recommended me to do other procedures such as fillings and crown while she was working on my teeth. Her assistant even called me several time to drum up more sales. I would not recommend her if you want a sincere and professional dentist. read more

Everything that Joanna T. said is spot on. I've been seeing Dr. Thai for seven years (also through multiple insurance coverages as well as having none for over a year) and have experienced the kindness, expertise and advice described. Dr. Thai and Susan are genuine, intelligent professionals, meticulous and efficient. I've seen them for everything from basic cleanings to fillings to repairing broken front teeth (ouch! but did I mention they are empathetic AND gentle?) and have always been 100% satisfied with the results. When Dr. Thai referred me to an oral surgeon for more extensive X-rays (who was also excellent, and just across the street), she called them to ensure I had an appointment immediately and conferred with the doctor right after. People are surprised when I say I love my dentist but that's because they haven't yet been to see Dr. Thai. I got to know Dr. Thai through my husband who has been seeing her over 10 years. Ever since she became my dentist 5 years ago, I have zero cavity or any other problem, and I actually look forward to seeing her for checkup. She is one of the most friendly and genuine doctor I have met. When I first visited her, she found so many stains on the back of my teeth which was due to some dental cream that prescribed by my previous dentist. She took extra care to remove all stains and advised me many tips to keep my teeth stain free and how to brighten them naturally. She also gave me super generous amount of samples to take home which helped me to find the dental product that works the best for me. Thanks to her detailed and superb care, I only get to see her twice a year on my checkup but she remembers everything about my teeth (even the condition of my retainer). As a new mom, I'm getting less time to take care of myself lately, but I'm glad that I have Dr. Thai who knows about my teeth so much more and cares about them. read more
