I am honestly surprised this place has 5 stars. I'll give them credit on having good customer service and doing a normal job. But the upselling is irritating. Twice, it has happened to me that I tell them I want to make sure everything is paid when I step out the door and I'm not getting anything extra. They say yes everything is paid. Then a few months later I'll get some random bill about the visit. It's a lot of surprise bills after the visit. Never had an experience like this with any other dental place. I gave them more than one shot because they are close to my house and they were nice, but every time I feel oversold afterwards. I've noticed every negative review gets removed. Dr. Meachum and staff are wonderful! I am very sensitive and have had many bad experiences with dentists in the past which makes me very wary about going to the dentist. Luckily I have found a dentist's office that meets all of my needs. Dr. Meachum and staff are so responsive to my needs and so gentle! I actually almost relax in the dental chair now. The office is built in a way that is open and flowing and doesn't trigger any of my claustrophobic anxieties. I have since been back after COVID and they definitely take precautions seriously. They all wear masks and are vaccinated. My kids are high risk and she wore an N95 mask to alleviate my worry and discomfort of being out in public, yet alone the dentist. They space out patients that they are all in separate rooms during treatment to avoid overcrowding or being in a room with more than 1 person at once. They have gotten busier and are booked out for more than a month so I would recommend making an appointment in advance. But waiting to see her is worth it and comes with the territory. She does accommodate for emergencies but it's a by case basis of course. Again, I love her and would highly recommend! read more

The BEST Dental experience I have been to in a long time. I must say that I have been in several Dentist's offices for fillings and cleanings, and Dr. Meachum's office is the best I have experienced. I recently visited the office to have a cavity filled, as well as a deep cleaning. Many are typically hesitant to get these procedures done, however Dr. Meachum and her staff made the experience relaxing and honestly enjoyable. The cavity filling was simple, quick, and easy, and there are absolutely no pain involved in the process! I didn't even realize that the time had gone by before she said to me that we are all set and finished. Extremely professional. After the cavity filling, I was due for a deep cleaning. This is a little more extensive than a standard cleaning. The goal is to clean up tartar build up around the gums. Tish, the Dental Hygienist who took care of the procedure, was extremely, gentle, quick, and effective in her methods. She was also very informative, and kept me updated on exactly what she was doing every step of the way. She made it a pleasant experience, and honestly gave me motivation again to maintain and keep up on my flossing and at home brushing in between visits. I am very excited honestly to get back into Dr. Meachum's office for my next visit. If anyone is looking for a Dental Office in the Orange County area, you must give Dr. Meachum a call ASAP, or stop in for a visit. I have been seeing the same dentist for my entire adult life and when he retired, I was left to find someone to fill his shoes. I did a quick Yelp search of dentists in the area and decided to give Dr. Meachum a try. I have pretty high expectations since my former dentist was also a family friend. Trusting a complete stranger isn't something anyone can be comfortable with, but I have to say Dr. Meachum was super nice (I asked about 100 questions), and extremely thorough. I don't actually live in Dana Point. I was here visiting family and needed to get a tooth checked out. I have been going to Dr Fingal for over 10 years now. I started seeing her and her team when I was just a teenager. Now I am 24. I used to have a lot of cavities and other dental issues just from poor brushing and bad diet, but Dr. Fingal is very good and all my fillings have lasted with no pain or repair needed. I chipped my front tooth pretty bad due to falling and hitting the side of my bed my front tooth was chipped and the nerve was exposed. I called Dr. Fingal in the morning and she made room for me the same day for a crown. She takes pride in her work and if you dont like something she will change it. I didn't like a small gap I had between my front teeth and she was able to correct it for me while she was repairing the crown on my front tooth(several years after the fall, the crown was holding up fine but she just replaced it for longevity purposes at my request). This dentist office is not trying to sell you on anything and they make you feel welcomed they don't tell you to get things you don't need, they are honest and care about oral health above all else. Also when I was getting my teeth cleaned the dental hygienist talks to you about whats going on with your teeth and ways to improve your dental health. She is in no way criticizing, but informing. She goes to continued dental seminars and has the latest medical knowledge on oral hygiene issues. She knows a lot and I actually bought a new tooth brush and cut down on coffee and she noticed during my next cleaning. Now I live in San Diego and still make the drive to Dana Point at least once a year to see Dr Fingal and get my checkup. I ideally want to go twice a year. They really care and everyone at the office remembers things about you even if you haven't seen them in a year. Dr. Fingal and her team have been keeping my mouth healthy for many years, and I doubt I will ever be able to find another dental team as good as they are. They are fair priced and have always taken my insurance which has changed several times. read more

My family and I have been going to her for over 20+ years but unfortunately our insurance has changed and are unable to see her anymore. I've been going to Dr Fingal since high school, and I'm about a third into my thirties now. At first, when I heard Dr Fingal was retiring I was very sad to see her go. I also was apprehensive of whom would take her place: I should've trusted the fact that Dr Fingal would retire her practice to very capable and kind hands in Dr Meachum. I've had a regular check up with x-rays, and a cavity filling with Dr Meachum thus far, and her and the staff's care has been professional, warm, friendly, and extremely skilled. The staff has very thankfully remained the same since the time of Dr Fingal, which I'm extremely happy about, as I love the warm, intelligent, friendly, and extremely capable care that I have received from Tish, Kristin, and Kelly since as long as I could remember. This is true with both Dr Meachum and Dr Fingal: I've never had more fun getting cavity fillings than with these two dentists (the current and the former) and their staff! Honestly, it's the most painless, most enjoyable time I could've hoped for! I left the office in smiles, feeling like I had a great start to my day!
